Alex and holly both stood up and started to walk away from the group. "We'll be back." Holly said. It was late for her to be out. The sun would be rising soon Vampires weren't big fans of the sun. Alex put his arm around her as they walked out the front door to her car.
|
Neam looked outside as the couple walked out, soon following their lead. She walked away, magic stirring about her. A few minutes later, the beat of wings could be heard, along with a few screams of 'Dragon'. She would hunt, but not around here.
|
Vik followed suit and vanished from the tavern and would find something to eat before it was time for the bloodbath to begin.
|
"Return when it gets dark," the drow called after the departing group. Selk chuckled to herself, happy. Heading up to her room above the tavern, the dark elf stayed within the darkness until the sun sank low in the horizon.
When the night fell, she would lead them to her homeland - a cavern of terrors and death. An evil grin lit upon her black lips. This was going to be so much fun. |
Holly and alex ended up parking on the side of the road by the forest. Holly jumped out of the car and began running to the house. Alex changed into wolf form and ran after her. They ran alot faster then the car could have gone through the thick woods. Holly stopped at the front door of the house and quickly opened it. Not waiting for alex to come in she went downstairs to where they kept all their wepons. Holly smiled she never really used them much anymore. Alex came up beside her still in wolf form. He picked up a few things in his mouth then dropped them and sighed. He changed back into human form. Standing right infront of me with only a ripped up pair of boxers on. Holly couldn't help but giggle. She always had wondered about why he felt so weird like that. Well when he was only around her at least.
Holly and alex both packed their wepons in a bag. As they were finishing Alex changed back into a wolf. He picked up his bag and started to walk slowly out of the house. Holly followed him placing one hand on his back. This time their way to the forest was slow. They both were thinking about the horrable possabilities. "Ok I cant stand this anymore." Holly said sprinting to where the car was. Alex changed into human form and got dressed. They both got into the car placing the bag of wepons in the back and shutting the doors. The drive back to the tavern seemed longer then normal. It happened to be because alex was driving really slow. He seem to be a bit jumpy, so was holly. As they neared the tavern alex pulled of into the woods. They sat there silently waiting for night fall. Just as the sun was finishing setting holly reached over and gripped Alex's hand tightly. "Why did I have to say we'd help." She muttered. Alex reached his hand over and turned her head to kiss him. As the night fell around them holly pulled away and got out of the car. Alex grabbed their bag of wepons and they walked out of the forest up behind the tavern. Walking in they sat at the same booth they had before. Holly looked around and reached back to hold Alexs hand. They sat quietly waiting. |
Vik arrived back at the tavern just after sunset. He came well armed with an assortment of throwing knives his twin daggers and of course the souvenir his dear sweet Selk had given him. He kept it all well hidden behind the cover of his cloak and intended to make sure no one knew what all he had not even his lady elf, but it wasn't like it mattered all that much since he had... other abilities. When he walked into the tavern he immediately saw the couple and sat down in the booth with them and gave them a sinister smile, "Are you two ready to cause a little anarchy?"
|
Hollys mood lightened when vik walked in. Her grip on Alex's hand loosened a bit. She smiled widely making sure to show off her fangs. "Of corse!" Holly said stopping herself from giggling. Alex also smiled at Vik. He could tell Vik was going to be having alot of fun with this. "Why not." He laughed.
|
Vik's smie grew even larger as he too showed off his ivory colored fangs. This was going to be so much fun and he was anxious to get the show underway but he knew that no show started without it's full cast so he sat there patiently for the rest of the members to show up.
|
Selk sighed, and paced her room impatiently. Darkness eventually fell, but the dark elf continued to stride back and forth. The drow looked out the window, her breath coming quick. She had to be fast if this was to work.
Grabbing her flowing black cloak, Selk covered her form-fitting drow armor and strode from the room. Her powerful steps were silent, and her silver hair flowed out behind her. Just as she reached the top of the staircase her deep hood flew up around her face. Seeing the werewolf and vampire couple, as well as her new friend Vik, Shelke stepped over to their booth. Hopping up to seat herself on the edge, the drow dangled her feet over the side, a smile on her black lips. "Are we all packed and ready to go?" Selk purred, patting each of their head's in turn. |
Vik flashed a beautiful pearly smile at his elven lady friend. He hadn't taken to many people in his time but she was interesting to him and he enjoyed her vibrant personality. "You already know that I'm ready so there was really no need to ask. I always dress properly for the occasion." The half vampire's voice lent a playful tone to it as he eyed Selks figure up and down licking his lips. His eyes had been red since he arrived at the tavern much like they were on the night he first met all his new "co-workers". He couldn't help but be anxious and ready.
|
"Good," Selk said, crossing her legs in front of her. Leaning back, she supported herself with her elbows. The dark elf took a deep breath. "How about the young couple?"
|
Neam opened the door to the inn, upset that she had been help up. "Idiotic hunters think they can best me, ha!" She walked over to the party, her scent carrying the traces of burned flesh on it, and her eyes brighter than they had been the night before. Her cloak still completely covered her outfit, but there were slight clinks coming from her when she moved. "Good evening to you all. I hope my tardiness can be excused, but there were a few gnats I had to roast on the way."
|
Selk smiled at the dragon, and shook her head. "We had just gathered here not moments before you stepped inside. And what a lovely scent you carry with you." The drow seemed to enjoy the smell of death, and breathed it in deeply. Her violet eyes closed for a moment, as though the dark elf was lost in memory - or perhaps a daydream.
"Now," she said, sitting up and reaching into her cloak, "are we all ready to go?" Selk turned to Vik, and ran a finger along his cheekbone. "Everyone knows you are ready. But what about the others?" Returning her gaze to the woman before her, Selk pulled her hand out of her black cloak to reveal a small pouch. Dumping the contents into her free hand, the elf held out a handful of medallions. Taking one from the group, she placed it over Vik's head, smiling. |
Holly watched Selk give vik a medallion. "What are those for?" She asked quietly. She kind of hoped they were some sort of protection thing. She wasn't feeling all to safe with the lack of armor that she had. Of corse a vampire didn't really need armor since anything that happened to pierce through their skin would have a very small effect.
Alex looked carefully at the medallions he thought they were cool. Although if he changed to wolf form with it on then it might not be all in one piece later. Silently he watched Selk. In his mind really he was just thinking of all the things that could go wrong. |
"These are my house's insignia," the dark elf said, tapping Vik's black metal necklace. "The Toshiba family will not question you if you keep them on you." They won't question, exactly, but they will come to violent actions. You can't protect some measly surface dwellers from the drow.
The amulets each had the symbol of a large spider, it's back coated in glowing webs. Strange runes were etched along the border of the diamond-shaped metal. Running her black finger over the symbols on Vik's medallion, Selk smiled. She whispered a sentence in a strange gutteral language, and then looked at each of the group in turn. "It says that you are part of my house. Part of the Toshiba house. That you are loyal to the matron, even when faced with death and the greatest of pain. In my homeland, you will all encounter pain beyond your wildest dreams and nightmares, you will see things that will sear their way into your mind and memory. Are you all truly willing to go into the deepest of darkness to help me kill my matron?" The haunted look in her violet eyes spoke of untold horrors, of tortures and death. Selk's vibrant aura faded, only to be replaced by one that pulsed with fear and rage. "Will you place yourselves in the hands of the drow, unsure if you'll ever see the light of day or the moon in the sky again?" The dark elf released the medallions onto the table beside her, and they clattered before sitting still. Slipping off of the table, Selk glared at the necklaces. "Will you face an eternity of darkness to help a stranger?" |
Vik looked at his medallion, it was a piece of artistry and he liked the colors on it. They were all representations of his favorite emotions. He then looked at the elven woman who had a fearful yet violent aura radiating off of her and then put the necklace around his neck. "I do not fear anything that can be done to me, for when it's my time I shall leave this world. Terror is an emotion that I only intend to inflict on another being, I absolutely refuse to be made to tuck my tail between my legs and cower before anyone or anything. Whatever is down in the land of the drow had better be a God or I will find a way to kill it. Once this party gets underway, I'm going to be the most terrifying figure down there." Vik smiled with an aura of chaos and death gushing from his slender frame. "You have nothing to worry about Selk as long as I'm around." The half vampire grabbed the drow and sat her on his lap and winked at her flirtatiously while flashing his beautiful ivory teeth then said, "Relax, this will be fun."
Vik turned towards the rest of the group and his face grew intense, "Banish any thoughts of fear and doubt from your minds. We have all agreed to help so there is no point in being afraid to walk forward into the darkness. If need be, I'll be the light for everyone to follow. So don't get lost." His grim face let a sinister smile appear before the group members. There was no turning back now so fear was just a hindrance. |
Holly glared at Vik. "OH MY GOD! BE QUIET!" She said loudly. Alex laughed a bit and reached under the table to pick up the medallions. He took one is his hands and looked at it closely. "This thing is really cool he said handing another one to holly. Holly took the medallion and looked at it. Her hand was shaking and she dropped the necklace pulling he hand off the table. "I know I'm a vampire and I'm strong, fast or whatever but I'm scared. Really scared."
|
"Fear is a weakness that my kind will hunt," Selk said, shaking her head. "If you are scared, perhaps you should stay here on the surface where little squirrels can help you survive." The mocking tone that the dark elf took on was harsh, and her gaze was feral.
In a sudden shift of moods, Selk turned and kissed Vik, shoving him back against the booth. Sitting back up, she brushed a few locks of silver hair out of her face. "Sorry about that," she coughed. Her cheeks were warm, but her black skin prevented anyone from seeing her blush. "Right. I'm leaving in a few minutes, so be ready all of you. We go down into the darkness below ground, into the Underdark. The home of the drow." |
Vik was a little pissed off at Holly's comment for once in his life he was trying to give some helpful advice and be nice, but as usual he was always scorned. It was nothing he wasn't used to so he quickly banashed the thoughts and listened to the lady elf's words of advice that echoed his own.
When Selk turned and kissed the half vampire he was taken aback by the gesture. He wasn't sure what her reasons for the sudden show of affection was but he didn't think about that for long. Suprisingly he just looked at her, his eyes were soft but his expression was focused though he did give her a slight grin showing his approval. She was easy to admire and her personality was right up his alley but alas it was almost time to begin the hunt so he didn't have time for lingering thoughts as they would only hold him back. Vik understood that there was no room for hesitation and no room for many mistakes and he prayed that Holly didn't become a burden on anyone because if she did he had a mind to kill her himself. Then again that would prove troublesome because even if he succeeded he would have to deal with the wolf next. Wasting energy on worthless things was not high on his list of things he liked to do. Whatever happed would just happen so he would have to adjust. The crimson eyed halfling was flashed his ivory's and announced, "I'll be ready." Vik then crossed his arms and closed his eyes and began to get focused for their mission. |
Holly growled at selk and sneered in discust when she kissed Vik. "Well your lucky I'm going to prove that I'm better then any of you ever hope to be." Holly said in a snotty tone. Alex looked at her in suprised. She wasn't normally full of herself. "And I will kill anyone who gets in my way no matter who's side there on." She added angerly. Alex looked at selk and sort of smiled. "We'll be ready."
|
Vik smirked at the girl's comment and just kept his focus. The girl was mad with fear if she was already getting delusional, her proving herself more useful than he but he would not dwell on it. And the half vampire was a little taken aback when Holly was against the kiss that slek granted him. He thought that she of all people would be for emotional gestures not against one but he figured that she didn't like him much so that would explain her negative reaction. Whatever the case Vik was not convinced of the facade that she was putting on for them.
|
Holly glared at Vik. She wasn't enjoying his company and really wanted to fight him just to prove how much better then him she was. Alex put his arms around her and kissed her on the cheek. "Just ignore them" He wispered. Holly turned her head and kissed him again and again knowing it could be the last time she could kiss him without worrying something could happen. Although the fact other people were around made it weird eventually they both forgot about everyone else.
|
The half vampire was glad the wolf could keep his little girl under control, he could feel the tension radiating off of her and knew it was directed towards him but didn't care. He hoped she would bottle it all up and use it against their foes and not waste her time with him for he wouldn't fight back. Her boyfriend was more civilized than she was which was quite suprising since he was a beast but now was not the time to waste on those kinds of thoughts. He had developed a respect for the couple that was being damaged by the vampires ignorance but even so it was ok maybe he was being mildy offensive and he already had a long list of enemies and was not in the mood to increase the list. Vik finally decided that he would refrain from provoking the vampire unless she got on his nerves.
The halfling was getting anxious awaiting their guide and conductor. He expected the battle would be entrtaining but this wait was more deadly than any fight he had ever been in. |
Everything holly had been worried about seemed to disapate. Her thoughts surrounded Alex not the fight. She could deal with Vik and she could fight her hardest. Of corse there was nothing to be worried about they were all strong. A Dragon a Vampire a Werewolf and a Halfling. Dark elves might be strong but they couldn't put up a fight against them. Holly convinced herself of that.
Alex was enjoying kissing Holly. He knew she always worried about everything. Sometimes she was a bit to dramatic about it. He didn't think about anything other then holly. Although his thoughts about her safty seemed to all end with Vik. They needed to be friendly with eachother otherwise something bad could happen. He pulled away from holly and looked over at Vik. Holly sighed and turned to Vik. "I'm sorry for being so rude." She mumbled looking down at the table. Alex watched Vik closely waiting for his reaction. Holly almost never apoligized for anything. Even when she had almost killed Alex. This was only the second time she'd ever said the words aloud. |
The crimson eyed halfling was silently shocked when he first heard the apology come from the female vampire's lips. He was not used to anyone apologizing to him since he usually killed anyone who provoked him but this case was different. He finally opened his eyes and looked at the woman with a deep respect flowing from his expression, "There's no need for an apology ma'am the tension was my fault as well. I'll be mindful of who I'm around next from now on, so think nothing of it. But thank you anyway and I apologize as well." Vik's attention immediately went to Alex who was looking at him. "Is there something I can help you with sir?"
