Stress induced acne.
I'm eighteen years old with fairly clear skin.
I've gone through a few emotional issues, and now my skin is breaking out. They aren't just little tiny pimples, they are huge things which start under the skin, making it red and bloachy and horribly painful. I've tried, lotions and potions. I even bloody chanted! Nothing helps. Do y'all have any products/cures? ((I'm allergic to Proactive)) |
A dermatologist can give you some really good stuff and usually it costs little to nothing (they can give you samples of stuff, which is free and they could also give you a prescription for something. I don't think those expensive at all).
|
My dermatologist is booked for the next two weeks.
I'm really not going to deal with this for that long. |
well, to be honest, most store bought acne stuff sucks and doesn't work. At least I've found that to be true for my skin.
|
The Oxy worked for me, but not when it's stressed induced.
Plus, in two weeks, it'll probably be gone. |
Well, if it's stress-induced; turn on some music, put your feet up, and just relax. Maybe take a hot bath to relax the stress away.
Use a sea-salt scrub. you took some sea salt, put maybe two drops of water in, and make it paste-like. Don't make it like a cream. Apply it to your face, and wait for it to dry up. Peel it off ,and use a moisturizer so your skin doesn't become oily. Thats something people have been using for like, ever and it dries it out the pimples FAST. But make sure to moisturize afterwards! |

I'll try that. |
drink water, it could be from stress, but sometimes when you are stressed you put your hands on your face etc, water helps purify the body, and moisterizes.
soo your alergic to benzyol peroxide? it only dries out ur skin anyways so dont worry. |
All peroxide basically.
It causes hives. It's really gross. |
Stress acne is pretty mundane, I get it all the time. But my skin naturally does something even worse. I get that acne that never comes to the surface at all, but puts little tiny dark spots on your skin. No one notices them but me. It's awful.
|
First off, I don't suffer from bad acne. Mostly, I have break-outs here and there on my forehead and that's it. Mostly stress related or my hair causes the irritation.
I started using Cetaphil for all skin types - it works better than the other products I tried. (Which managed to just break out my face even more.) I won't say I'm 100% satisfied with the results yet, but I haven't used it every day. I will say that instead of it leaving a dry feeling, my skin is much softer. It wasn't expensive either - I paid like $8. So if you want to try out the product, it's not too bad on cost. |
Drinking water seems the way to go, especially when the main cause is stress.
What I usually do it work out. Not only does it elevate my mood, but the sweat cleanses the pores. Maybe consider seeing a dermatologist. |

No one belives me, but I use a minty toothpaste. Not a gell but the old fashioned paste. The paste brings the ick to the surface and the mint kinda numbs the pain. And to wash my face I use shampoo suds from my hair, then if it is summer and I am sweaty I use witch hazel, on a cotton ball. Really when it comes to your face less is more. Drink lots of water too, it helps flush out your skin.
It sounds silly to do all this, but I swear it helps. |
ohmygosh! this happens to me too! When I'm stressed out I start breaking out on my forehead -_- ... but mostly it's small little pimples and usually not really red and fat...but still X.X

I should really try tht, but they seem to be doing alright now. I drink plenty and plenty of water. Nothing else but water. I did some auroma therapy stuff, but the acne that was there still persists. Nothing new has formed, so I think of that as a plus. |
Yeah the toothpaste is burny but the mint ones seem to burn less. Mint is a natural pain killer.

Aspirin masks/toners do wonders. :) They're cheap and easy to make.
To make the mask, get a three uncoated aspirins, mash them up, and add a little water and a smidgen of organic honey until it's the consistency of a thick paste. You can also add things like aloe and tea tree oil if you'd like. Put that on your face, and leave it for around 10-15 minutes. If you don't like it covering your face, just use it as a spot treatment and dab some where you need it. |
to be honest with you hun, i would seriously try just chillaxin as much as u can. eliminate the stress and u eliminate the acne. but since u cant get rid of it, it should lessen it. im pretty good at bein stress negative if u have any questions hehe

I didn't believe it until I tried it...but use toothpaste. I have stress-induced acne as well and whenever I have/see a big one coming I put a band-aide with a little bit of toothpaste on it on the spot and sleep with it over night. Kaboom. The thing's gone in the morning. I kept seeing it on the internet and T.V. and thought it was utter BS, but now I swear by it. Even if the redness isn't gone the swelling and pain is.
|
@ Amyrex, ya the toothpaste method I find to me the most effective...and you smell like minty freshness!
|
I currently am trying the toothpaste method.
It tingles, but it tingles good. |
Well, all I can say is wash your face as much as you can, and put on the acne stuff that you have now. I know what it's like to get a lot of acne when I get stressed out. I'll have fairly good skin, and then I'll wake up the next day with a lot of acne e.e, so I have to deal with it then. But hopefully your dermatologist will give you something that will work :3

As far as I know, the only thing that helps prevent stress/hormone acne is birth control pills, but I'm not going to take those for the acne, no matter how they market them. D=
I never once had acne or a breakout till I was 21, now I get them like clockwork. ._. |
