Because it hit on my birthday... it just makes me feel bad that while I was out to dinner with my family, so many were in need. I feel so heartless!

Its not something you were able to control, and not to mention that they were in a different time zone, so for all you know it didn't even happen around the same time. Plus, just because it was on the same day doesn't mean you should feel at fault or heartless. It in no way is related to you. Its okay.

lol. Still, like she said, you it wasn't something that you could control. Unless you sent the earthquake yourself, it's nothing to feel guilty about.
