What a strange sentence to have it do, Crane. lol
And I was wondering about it, but we got him home and he's doing a little better. We got a vaporizer, and it seems to be helping, actually. He's doing much better now than when I got home. Got him to eat a little bit, too. :] |
Oh, that's wonderful! Give him lots of love.~
I remember when a baby bird was brought to the house. I spent a lot of the night helping feed it; I had to use my fingernail to try and pry it's adorable little beak open so that I could push some food in. |
Aw! That is so sad! Is the bird healthy, though?
|
@ crane - He's been rather unwell anyway. Right now he's doing really badly. He can't hardly breathe, and he keeps gasping. I can't do anything to help, and its driving me nuts. :< Hurts me to see him in pain and I know he's probably totally scared.
Aaw. I know how that is. I think you already know about the little bird that i'd raised. How did it do? Do you still have it, or did it not make it? |
I'm not sure. I'm assuming that the bird is fine now, but I wouldn't know. The next morning I drove it to one of those bird sanctuaries. A woman was happy to take it and that was the last time I had seen it. He was just at the age where he looked like a full-grown bird but he didn't have his adult feathers yet, so he couldn't fly. We picked him up at the golf course in another town because it was incredibly windy and he was just being pushed around on the course road. My sister scooped him up and put him in a little box and drove him home.
I love how warm birds are. Aw, I'm sorry to hear that, Suona. Hopefully he manages to get some rest and feel better. |
Afternoon, everyone. :)
|
Ooh. Okay. Well, i'm sure it did just fine, then. :]
I hope so, too. I can't get him to sit still for very long. I want him to keep his head elevated, because it probably will help him breathe better, but he wanted back in his cage and he'll only lay with his head all drooped down when he's in there. :/ So, I might take him back out and see if there is any spot I can put him where he can only have his head up. Otherwise, he keeps climbing around and laying in ways that aren't good for his lungs (has pneumonia). ---------- Hello, Clair. :] |
How's Suona?
|
I love your avis. o.o
|
I'm really stressed out. :x
How about you? Thanks, Randall! o 3o This is an old avi that i'd done and just threw it back on as consideration for my character for Miro's thread. xP;; |
Randall, you look like a sailor! :D
Clair is doing good. :D |
lol Yeah, he sure does
|
OH NO! Your rat died!? D": SO SAD!
|
Yes. He just passed away an hour ago. :x
|
I'm so sorry! TmT Poor guy! POOR SUONA!
|
Aw, thank you for the donation.
Yeah, its been a really rough several days. He was in perfect condition not that long ago. But we had gone on vacation and when we came back, I'd noticed that he'd gotten a lot skinnier. He had lost a TON of weight, and this coming from the fastest rat i'd ever seen. Well, we had to leave like only a couple days after we got back to go to Nebraska for a couple more days. Well, we get back again and he's doing even worse. The whole time we were gone my aunt had been keeping an eye on all our animals, but I think that he wasn't getting proper care. Also, it seems that she left the AC on the entire time that we were gone, so I think that it made him sick. Took him to the vet the friday before last and got him some meds. He was doing kind of okay, but still icky. Suddenly he just got more and more weak, his hind legs didn't want to work very well, his breathing got really raspy, and he wouldn't eat much. Took him back to the vet the day before yesterday and she confirmed my suspicions that he had pneumonia. And he only continued to get worse, and today he was barely able to breathe. I tried to help the best that I could, but there was really nothing to do. I've been staying home as much as possible this last week or so, and holding him all the time. Just hoping that he'd get better, but it seems that it was just too much for his weak immune system. He is the 3rd pet in the last several months that has passed away. Its just too much for me. |
I'm really sorry. T.T
|
Me too. I really wish that none of them had to go through the pain that they did.
|
Well, they're not in pain anymore.
|
Yeah, and thats just the best way to look at it.
|
@Suo - That was a lot like my first cat. She was perfectly healthy when we went on a 1-2 week trip to England and when we came back, we found that the neighbors hadn't feed her like they were supposed to. After that, she kept getting sicker and sicker, finally we took her to the vet and x-rayed her. We found out that she had cancer, or a tumor, in her stomach, and the vet at that time just wanted more money and they basically stated that there was nothing to do other than put her down or let her die of illness. B***ard veterinarian. After we got the next set of cats, the same veterinarian almost killed one of the kittens, Sarah, because they rushed us out, and didn't have emergency hours. |
Yeesh. That sounds like a really bad vet. Did you make a complaint to someone? See if you could shut her down or something? Get a better vet in there, for sure.
|
If you don't pay, you don't get treatment. It's really the same concept for a pet as when you bring your grandmother in. If your cat is sick, it's not necessarily the veterinarian's fault; the neighbor's cat was having kidney failure and getting sick all the time as well. I'm not sure if it was cancer or some other illness, but the owner didn't want to let the cat go.
So I would watch her pull the cat in and stick its back with an IV so that it could be hydrated. The cat couldn't eat on its own, and decidedly couldn't absorb enough nutrition to survive. |
I believe she meant that they were just trying to milk her for more money, rather than saying that she wasn't paying so they wouldn't treat her.
If that cat was that unwell so often and needing that done repeatedly, then it probably would have been better to have put it down than have it suffer so much. |
Morning, guys. :/
