Light sat up, glared at them both. "I refuse to give in to a stubborn child." He pressed a button by the bed. "Mikami...I need you to come get a bothersome child from my room. You'll know her by the screaming. Don't hurt her...amuse her for a few hours, okay?" "As you wish, Kamisama." Mikami entered the room a while later, leaning down to look Mint in the eye. "Well...Want some ice cream?" |
Mint blushes and looks at him. She blinks."Mikami-kun?" she blinks and blushes more she laches on to him and holds on for dear life."marrie me your so hot!! i want you Light can he marrie me please!?" she asked holding onto him tightly.

"Sure. Go ahead. You have my blessing. Hurry up and get to the chapel, don't be late, now." Light groaned and went back to sleep, cuddled against L. Mikami raised an eyebrow. "Why thank you. What's your name, little girl?" He said little girl in a mocking tone, making it obvious that he knew she probably had the intelligence of someone far older. He made it sound like he was calling her an old lady. |
Mint Leaned up and bit Mikami's ear and smiles."Mint is my name im not Little girl..and we are to get married now to the chaple we go you heard Light!" she pouts and holds on to him\
Lawliet falls back to sleep.. |
Mikami led...err...dragged...Mint to the kitchen. "Well, we can't get married on an empty stomach. How about some breakfast? And then some ice cream." He figured he could probably figure out enough excuses to delay the wedding at least ten years. |
NOOOO MARRYED NOW! LIGHT-KUN SAID DONT BE LATE!!! WE GO GET MARRIED NOW!!!" she yells at him and still lached on to him. "I MEAN IT NOW!!! OR ILL GO WAKE LIGHT BACK UP!!!"

Mikami merely raised an eyebrow and started to make breakfast. "Sorry, Mint. I can't think straight on an empty stomach. Probably couldn't even remember our vows. We should wait. Besides...don't you want your family to be there?" |
Ohhh yeah!" she laches to his him still only about comeing up to his waist and smiles. she was really pretty."I love you Makami-san. " she giggles."what are we haveing for breakfast?"

Mikami smiled at her. She really was a cute little girl. A bit bratish...but weren't all children? She'd make a nice playmate for Near. "Well, eggs, sausage...pancakes, waffles, and bacon. Light told me to make it full of protein for L...he apparently doesn't get enough Iron, either." He grinned. "He's determined to make him eat healthier...though it will be a difficult task, I'm sure." |
Mint nods."My brother dosnt like to eat heathy." she smiles up at him."Mikami-san can i ask you something." she moves and gets up on the counter and scoots all the food out of front of him and gets infront of him where she was face to face with.she blushes."Will Mikami-san kiss me."

He raised an eyebrow. Think, Mikami...think...How do you get out of this one... He coughed, sounding like he was about to hack up a lung. "Ah...sorry. I can't kiss you right now. I'll kiss you after we get married..." He thought about it...What if I can't get out of this whole 'marriage to an eight year old' deal? "Well...I might...if I get better. I'm kinda sick." |
"its ok i understand..im 8 what dose an 8 year old girl have to offer as in a body your right im nothing.." she looks down and starts to cry."your just like everyone else throw me away! just like my parents! they died...and left me and then Lawliet...he just switched sides and left me to..i wouldnt of had family had i not of serched for him. and now your a jerk!" she moves and jumps off the counter and starts tword Lights room again.

He sighed. "Why don't we wait until you're older?" He pressed a button on his watch and the kitchen door sprang shut and locked. He was prepared to die for his god. |
Mint sniffles."because im dieing.." she looks down."the doctor told my brother that my heart wont hold out much longer..so i might not live long." she sits in the floor and stairs at the ground holding onto her bunny.

Mikami walked over to her and hugged her tightly. "Well, we'll just have to change that. I know a really good doctor, and I bet he could make you better." |
She blushes and looks up at him. She blinks and smiles slightly."r..really but..you will still marrie be Light said you would." she blushes more.."we can live happily together.." she hugs to his waist and giggles.

He smiles. He was a man who kept his promises, and didn't make them lightly. "I'll marry you when you're all grown up and better. I promise." |
Mint looks at him and blushes."s..so im your fionce then?" she smiles and winces and grabs her chest slightly but pants and then regains her breath and sighs."i hate when that happens..its been getting worse here lately.." she holds onto him and nuzzles into him."i wana get married now just in case i die...ill know that i was married."

He pulled out his cellphone and dialed a number. "Chris. Yes...I have a little girl I want you to see. She's very sick...yes...her heart. Mmhmm. Alright. We'll be right there." He turned to face Mint and held out a hand. "Minty-chan...Let's go see my doctor friend and get you all better." |
Near popped his head around the corner, he had followed Mikami out of the room once Light had called for him. "but Mint ain't you meant to marry the one you love." you couldn't tell by looking at Near's expression but inside he was jealous and a little disappointed. it cant be helped she is a child after all.
"light i'd like to say thankyou for the wonderful puzzle and i look forward to starting it." addressing Light he smiled politely. only half his body could been seen through the door way and he was once again in his strange sitting position close to the floor, a single finger in his hair twisting it every time he spoke. The pain on Mint's face made is own soften, the child had a serious problem, "you should really be resting.?" he told her |
Mint looks at Near and blinks."Near? " she moves away from Mikami and walks over to near and hugs him."I missed you!" she smiles and holds on to near."your so mean...leaveing me like L did!" she glares at him. She then gos back to Mikami and lifts her arms up. "pick me up?" she asked him as she waited. She smiles at him. "you can carry me to...the dr..or the car to take us to the dr?"

Mikami smiled at her, picking her up effortlessly. "Yes, let's go, Mint-chan. Near, will you come with us, please?" He carried her out to the car, tugging Near behind. Not roughly, but a bit urgently. |
Mint nuzzles into Mikami and closes her eyes."i am tired all of a sudden..i think ill sleep on the way there." she said taking a deep breath and sighing. She didn't have the energy to do anything at the moment anymore.

Later... Mikami sighed. The doctor couldn't do anything. Nothing at all. There was no choice but to get a heart transplant...and the waiting list was longer than Mint would be able to survive. He went to L. "I need you to keep Mint, Near, and Light busy for a day. It is really important." |
Mint was asleep and curled up on the bed already. She wasn't looking so great.
Lawliet looks at her and frowns. He moves closer to her and plays with her hair."Mint..whats matter is it your heart again?" He asked softly in her ear. Mint didn't respond to the words she just slept. as if drained suddenly. Lawliet looks at Mikami."fine..go do whatever it is you need to." |
