"Sure. Come on in. And for your information I tripped coming up the walkway."
She shifted herself on the bed and slowly peeled back the gauze, showing a bright pink line, somewhat bloodied. |
He entered her room and looked at her ankle. He glanced at her and said seriously, "You should elevate and ice this. I'll go get some ice for you okay." He didn't touch it not wanting to hurt her and it seemed she had done a good job of cleaning it up. He got a chair and put a pillow on it placing it in front of her saying, "Here put your foot up here and I'll be back." He got up and went in search of ice.

She sniffed at the air for a second, and then placed her foot on the pillow. He left her again, and she felt like screaming 'NO! Don't leave me' but he was gone. She always felt empty when he left. She sighed. "I guess I really do like him.."

It took him a little bit of time but he eventually found some ice. He placed it in a good sized wash cloth and bound it up. He made his way back up to her room and came inside. He very carefully placed it on her ankle and said, "That should help okay. Should I turn the T.V. on for you?"

"Thanks for helping, Santo...Doyoumindstayingherewithme?" She blurted out in a rush.
She wasn't sure if she was blushing or not, and she looked away from his face. |
He glanced at her and her rush of words. He gave a slight shrug and sat down in the empty chair saying, "Sure though I can't promise I will be great company. Oh wait." He remembered his hair and stood up. "I'll be back just let me get my hair done up and I'll be right back," he said not wanting to walk around with his hair undone anymore.

"Okay..."
He'd agreed? Yay! Her heart jumped. She sighed, leaning back, thinking of things to talk about when he returned. Favorite colors? Animals? She didn't know.. but she didn't want to bore him. |
He got up and went down to his room. He cringed when he saw himself in the mirror. Man his hair was a mess. He got out his brush and hair stuff. It took him about five minutes but by the end he looked much better. His hair was naturally straight and shiny but it could look a bit unruly if he didn't take care of it. It was in a nice low pony now. He went back upstairs to Rain's room and sat down in one of the comfy chairs. He was hungry but hadn't bought any food yet.

"So... What do you want to talk about? I'm sorry, all thoughts have escaped my mind at the moment..."
Except for the ones about him. SHUT UP! Oh, dear... How do I live with myself? *Mental sigh* She shifted her position to a more comfortable state, and looked Santo straight in the eye, waiting for a response. |
He thought for a moment and asked, "Well do you work? If so what kind of work do you do? I hope you don't mind me asking but it was the first question that came to mind." He really was curious to know more about his neighbors. Rain so far seemed like a nice girl and he was glad he had someone to talk to.

"Yeah. That's why I'm always stressing about my laptop. I actually have my own website and I get emails from people who want things drawn, painted, etc.. and we meet up somewhere and I draw or paint what they want. I'm pretty decent, I make enough to survive and enough to pay rent here. It's way better than rent at the other apartments I lived in. About $100 less."
She shifted again, "What about you?" |
He lifted his eyebrows interested at what she said. "Well hopefully your laptop will be okay. I am actually happy to hear that you're an artist. I was asking Kitty about local artists when I first got here. I love art and try to support local artists when ever I can. Perhaps I could commission something from you. Do you think that would be possible?" he asked her. He brushed aside her question not to be rude but really wanting an answer to his question.

"I'm not sure what you mean. My mind's a little jumbled up at the moment, here. Could you try explaining that a little.. better for me to understand?"
Rain's mind wasn't working right. She attempted to get it back on track, but it kept going back to dumb things. She was starting to get a headache when she finally gave up and sighed, and propped her pillows up behind her. |
He wasn't sure what she didn't understand but restated his request again saying, "I would like to look at your art work sometime. I might want you to do something for me if you're willing." He cocked his head a little and asked, "You doing okay?"

"Oh. Of course I will. If you'd like, you could go on my website now. I have pictures up of artwork I've done already."
She shifted again, laying down so that she could still see Santo, but she was comfortably laying down. "I feel fine. A little dizzy at the most. I'll be fine." |
"Keep laying down then if you're dizzy," he said to her not wanting the girl to fall over or anything. "Don't worry about it. I can always look later on when your feeling better. Why don't we just talk some more so you don't have to move about. When did you first start doing art work?" he said hoping she would keep laying down. If she was dizzy it was best for her to stay where she was.

"Ever since I was ten. I used to travel with my dad across the world at 5, and when I hit 10, I started drawing every where we went. By the time I was 11, a woman from Hawaii said my artwork was pretty decent and bought it from me. That woman was paid by my father to pay me the money he'd given her, because he thought I should become an artist. It did inspire me, and I started drawing everything. Over the years, people bought my art for real and this is where I am now. I keep getting better every year. My brother jokes that I'll be the next Picasso."
She laughed for a second. "What about you? Do you work?" [[I don't know about you, but I'm really starting to put myself into this RP. Heh, Heh :D]] |
He listened to her carefully taking in everything she said. He smiled lightly and replied, "Sound like you have a pretty amazing dad. It's neat he would do that for his daughter to inspire her. I'm glad you get to do what you love. Me? I work but I'm sort of like a handyman. I do odd jobs when ever they come my way." He laughed lightly and continued, "I guess you could call me a jack of all trades."

"That doesn't sound bad. Well, to me at least."
Rain shifted slightly and her stomach growled. She blushed instantly, grabbing her pillow and smushing her face with it. "Oh, geez..." |
He let out a small laugh and smiled saying, "Don't worry I think my stomach is feeling the same. Kitty said there was some fast food places near by. I could go get some food for us if you would like. I'm a bit hungry myself but so far haven't been able to buy anything.

"Oh, okay. I would appreciate that. You can take my car, if you don't mind the slight mess. My keys are in my back pocket - I'll get them in a second. My wallet is right there on the table."
Rain reached around with her arm to reach her keys. She handed her keys to him. "Where are you going?" |
He took her keys and said, "Don't worry about money. I can pay for some fast food. I'm not really sure just figured I would stop at the first place I saw if that's okay with you." He really didn't mind where the food came from as long as he got some. He was a rather good cook and usually liked well prepared food but when he was this hungry any sort of food would work.

"Sure. Okay. Anything's fine with me. Whatever you get, get me the same thing please."
She smiled warmly at him. "Don't be too long, or I'll think something happened to you." |
"Okay but I love onions, you okay with that?" he asked knowing certain people who hated them. He let out a laugh and said, "Oh if it takes me times I am most likely lost and not hurt. I'll be back soon though okay. I'm better with directions then I let on."
