"The things that he makes me do, creeps me out." Cove rubbed the back of his head, blushing deeply. "One time after the store closed, he had me stay longer and made me walk around in my boxers and stock some new books on the shelves. He just stood there taking pictures." He glanced down at the floor for a moment. "Most of the time its just that. He always like 'I'm gonna post these somewhere for people to see!' and he never does." Cove mimicked his Boss's voice, wagging his finger like he does too. "Maybe I should figure out how to get them...and burn 'em..."

Rain stopped her giggles. "Really? Aww, Cove.. Don't put yourself through something like that. There are plenty of other bookstores around, you know." She placed her hand on his arm, looking at him. "And you know what? I could pick you up if you wanted, after your shifts. I mean really, we don't want him to actually one day post up pictures of you and make a slideshow on YouTube," She said, giggling a bit. She smiled at him and moved back to her laptop, hearing a small 'ding' noise.
Alright.. So tomorrow. What time? Preferably in the morning.. I don't know, around ten-ish? Oh, okay. Fine with me. See ya tomorrow, kiddo! Rain sighed and smiled to herself. Derrick is such a clown. Rain looked back at Cove. She didn't mention that she could get the pictures for him somehow... She'd already slipped in the car with Santo on the subject, and though she told him she would tell everyone about herself at the party, she still didn't want to start on that again. She stood up and walked to the kitchen, bare-footed in her black dress, and looked in the fridge for a wine cooler, taking it back out. "Sorry, I kind of needed one right now." She scratched the back of her head and smiled. |
Cove closed his eyes, leaning his head back against the couch. "Eh, yeah." Shrug. "I get a bonus in my paycheck every week. So its worth in it in some aspects I guesssss?" Then he kinda just gave her a slight smirk. "That'd be cool. When I go back. He gave me a week of extra. I had to take off to go do my monthly visit to my parents. Only time I'm guilt free taking off from work. This is the last time I'll have to ever." The last sentence was said as a whisper. He sighed, opening his eyes and stared up at the ceiling. "Actually...I think one now too. If thats alright with you..." He had been rolling his question around in his head for a while now. "If you don't mind me asking...whats your relationship with your parents?" Cove automatically started hoping it wasn't a touchy subject.

Rain smiled. "Alright then, and yeah, I don't mind. I have a few different ones in the fridge," she said, smiling. She plopped on the couch in time to hear his whisper, though she thought it best not to ask about it. Did his parents die or something like that? Did he not know his real parents? Her head cocked at his question. "Me and my parents? We're.." Rain reconsidered and took time to think on her words. "Okay. I love them, but my father is so.. pushy. Always 'do this' and 'do that' and 'you didn't do that right!' and things like that. One reason why I left Japan." She sighed and leaned back on the couch.

Cove walked over to the fridge out, opening the it and pulled out a wine cooler from inside. Closing the fridge he walked back to his spot on the fridge and took a seat. Opening the bottle he took a swig, sighing. "Ah, yeah I know the pushy parents thing. Mine mapped out my life. I just decided to take an alternate route and do my own thing. They got over it." He took another drink from his bottle. If he got drunk he wouldn't cry. He wouldn't think about it.

Rain eyed Cove and the bottle, noticing he was starting to drink it quickly. "You.. might want to slow down, Cove.." She shifted nervously, thinking about what he had said. "Really? Well.. That's cool. I mean if they got over it and everything. My father would go beserk and try to kill me." Literally, that is. Rain sighed and took a sip. "I guess my mom would be okay with it - as long as I was a housewife and married some guy when I was fourteen, that is. Other than that, she'd be furious with her short self. Short people are vicious." She giggled and sat back, enjoying the moment. |
"S-Sorry." Cove put the bottle down, listening to Rain talk. "I..I guess. 'Cept...they disowned me yesterday..erased me from any family records...burned up anything with my name and pictures with me in it." He sighed closing his eyes. "Well, I hope he doesn't. 'Cause that would suck. I don't take losing friends lightly." Seriously.His eyes turned over to her. "Hahaha, My moms short. She's vicious too." He laughed a little.

Rain gasped. "That's horrible! My father wouldn't even do something like that." Or maybe he would. She bit her lip and set her wine cooler down, scooting closer to Cove. Friends? Oh, Kami, I hope my father doesn't find me. She reached out and touched his hand with the tips of her fingers, looking at him seriously. "Cove. You must be joking. Even if your mom's vicious.. They can't.." She let her voice trail off, thinking for a moment. "My father's hunting me." She hoped he understood that some people were just more fortunate. She'd rather be disowned by her parents than hunted by them.. having to move every now and then, worrying day to day... and drama didn't help at all. She closed her eyes and let herself fall back to the couch.

"I wish I was." Cove just shrugged, "My mom decided to put it in writing to mail it to me. I went to their place last night, come home this morning. I didn't even to get to step up onto the curb." He looked down at their hands. "All we did was yell. Then I said goodbye and that I loved them. And now I'm home." He was about to reach for his wine cooler. INstead he paused, stared at her. "Why?" His eyesbrows knitted together in concern.

(( Well for a few different reasons. The main one being that I've sort of got involved in a lot of other things on the site. Another reason is I'm sort of not sure what I want to do with Santo.))

Rain kept her eyes closed, pulling her hands to her face. "He wanted me to.. I'm.. I was.." She sighed. "Fine. But tell no one else." She sat up and opened her eyes, taking a drink from her bottle before facing him again. "I'm.. or I was.. an assassin in Japan. The males in my family make up this huge clan of murderers, basically, ninjas and that stuff. If you had a problem, you go to the Ohayashi's, they take care of it. There's a few other clans out there that are trying to kill my family, and my father wanted to show Japan that we were so powerful that even the girls were strong. Though, he didn't expect me to be this strong, and eventually started running me out more than the guys. I had wanted posters all over Japan, and I realized that I hated it. So I left," she paused and took another sip, "and I've been running around for about three years now." She sighed. "I was around thirteen when he started training me." She looked at Cove, expecting him to react wildly. Most people did, and she was suprised that Santo hadn't done anything when she mentioned being wanted. |

It took Cove a few minutes to grasp everything that Rain had just said. "Excuse what I'm about to say I don't mean it in a mean way or anything. At. All. But, thats insane. Like...insanely intense." He took a drink of his bottle. "If anyone shows up, Imma beat them over the head with my guitars." Cove grinned at her. "And don't worry. I'm good at keeping secrets...'Cause...I forget. Andand...I'm happy your alive....and here." He was bad at words with it came to certain situations. So he leaned forward, pulling her into a tight hug. |

Rain nodded. "Insane it is, and it will always be." She sighed. "Cove. You don't think you could take them.. do you?" She looked at him and bit her lip, wide-eyed when he hugged her. "Me too, Cove.. And if they come, you act like you only know me as Rain White, the girl who just moved into the apartment the other day. My father ordered whoever knows about my life besides my family that they be killed, and I don't want you guys.." She let herself relax into his hug, hoping her father didn't come around any time soon. She didn't want anyone here hurt because of her and what she really was. |
"Uh..well, in my childlike imagination. Yes. If I die, I'd die trying." Cove had a hint of humor in his voice, trying to lighten the mood a bit. He sighed, closing his eyes for a moment. "I'll try to. But when it gets too intense for my liking, promise not to get mad or hate me for interfering. Okay?" Patting her on the back. "I'd prolly do alotta yelling and throwing things at them." Fact: Cove doesn't 100% think things threw 100% of the time.
