"Yeah..its really hard. 'Cause you're keeping a huge secret about yourself from them." Cove paused for amoment with a sigh. "Yeah, Its realy not." He grinned at Kitty. "Thank Kitty. It means a lot. Thats why I love it at the Apartments. I feel so comfortable there." Then he laughed a little. "I bet you missed the sound of me jumping off my furniture."

He said to Cove,"Just remember not all family is connected by blood. Though that doesn't stop the hurt from not having parents accept you." He gave him a smile and said,"Now you have another person to share your true self with and I'm glad to have the opportunity to get to know you." He wanted to cheer Cove and Kitty up. Hopefully a day out would do them both some good.

Jaize arrived at the apartment office a while later, looking the structure up and down before stepping up the door labeled office. She wasn't sure if anyone was there...but she knocked anyway.
A passing breeze swept under her shirt and chilled her spine. She didn't like being outdoors...and she didn't like to be kept waiting. |

Kitty giggled, "Come on boys lets just have a good time, My life just made a turn around again." She leaned over to Cove giggling, "Of course i missed you, You know what a stick in the mud Hal can be." ((Look at post no. 123, it says theres a sign on the door. I'm out on the front step right now.)) She turned around, "Hmm hey you walked right by us, She giggled. Was up miss." |
Jaize blinked before turning to the voice,
"I'm waiting for this..." She then noticed the sign on the door and that the speaker matched the description..."You, I'm waiting for you. I want to rent a room." She spoke prompt and crisp, straight to the point. The woman twisted herself a bit to the side, her hip pointing out towards the door as she overlooked those around her. |
"Cool. I'm glad to have this chance to get to know you too." Cove smiled and Santo and then Kitty. "Score! I was missed! Aw, I missed you too and Hal." He laughed lightly again, "Santo, next time I go away I'll miss you too."

Santo gave a laugh at that and said to him,"Well that makes me feel loved." He couldn't help but smile at how friendly this one was. Santo looked briefly at the new person but did not offer a hello. Most times he would but he could tell a brush off when he saw one. Perhaps she was just eager to get settled in. Once she had her room maybe she would be more personable.

"you guys go ahead, I'll catch up i wanna get her settled," She walked up to the woman, "Yeah i'm the one you want, I'll get you some paper work, was there any specific place you wanted?" She smiled up at the other woman.

Nodded briefly to those around the owner, Kitty was her name it seemed. A center room..." she didn't offer any explanation for why she'd like it, 'Perhaps the third floor?"
She wondered to herself if these others standing around lived here or if they were just friends of the owner. She was about to ask when she dropped her purse, spilling the contents out on the sidewalk in front of the office. Cursing below her breath she dropped to her knees to gather the items up quickly. This was just what she needed...more people thinking she was an idiot... |
Cove glanced over Jaize and smiled. All he saw it has a another new friend to make. "Alright..or we could just wait out here for you?" He shrugged, rubbing the back of his neck.

Santo knelt down and helped the new woman gather her things. He looked around not seeing any more loose items saying, "I think we got them all miss." He opted for polite since he had yet to learn her name. Standing up he stuck out his hand and said smiling, "I'm Santo, Santo Demaro and I'm one of the new residence here. It's a pleasure to meet you."
He looked over at Cove and said, "I don't mind waiting." |
Jaize brushed back a long strand of snowy white and took one more look around herself before nodding in response. A thin line of blush fell on her face, because she was inwardly shy and outwardly arrogant. The later took a back seat for now.
"Jaize," she offered, accepting his hand with her own for a brief shake, "And thank you...very much...Santo." She also gave the other stranger a smile, the one Santo turned to. |
"You're welcome," he said with a smile. "We are planning to go into town. If you would like to get to know the area after you're settled in you could come with us." He hoped that a friendly invitation might help her open up to them. He enjoyed being around various people and having different life experiences to listen to.

Jaize nodded again to accept the offer, rising off her knees and standing beside them. "I'm not sure how long getting settled will take...but if I finish at a decent time I'll come with you all. Do you have a number I can call?" It felt odd to be so friendly to strangers, she normally kept her boundries in check.
The incident with her purse had dislodged some vital brick in the structure, she might actually become friends with them. |
Kitty had giggled, when she dropped her things, "I'm sorry it's just that happened to me for a long time so i started to keep it in my pocketts," She smiled at the Jaize, "I'm kitty. He's cove. and if they really don't mind waiting they might as well." She smiled at them. blushing again when she looked at Santo. "Come on into the office." She opened the door to let everyone else back in.

Santo actually had two cells he had brought here. One he left in his room and the other would be on him most of the time. He had gotten the new phone and number when he decided to find a place here in this town. He kept his smile on and replied, "That's great. We would love for another person to come with. Here just a moment." He pulled out a small notepad and a fine pen to jot down his number. He handed her the slip of paper saying, "That's the number to my cell so I should answer if you give me a ring."
As he walked in he noticed the blush on Kitty's face and gave her a little wink. He wanted her to feel confident and happy. |
Jaize thanked him again and tucked the paper away in her pockets, much along Kitty's suggestion of using them.
"It's nice to meet you, Cove." she said as they trailed along beside the owner, taking the papers from her and grabbing a nearby pen to fill them out. The blush stood, after the woman noticed the wink. Affection was not a word the woman understood, and experiencing anything of the sort, even in a friendly manner, set her face a light with bright pinks and reds. " And it's 200 a month correct?" she asked Kitty to clarify as she scribbled more notes down on the forms. |
"it's gone up and down only by ten -thrity dollars but not much diffference unless you want internet. She smiled sittig down behind the desk to type her into the computer when the paper was returned, she was typing in Santo first. She opened a drawer and picked up the set of keys and locks and the rules sheet from the drawer. "Oh my main thing is no loud noises after 1 am." She put the things in a recylable bag and set it on the table, and she went back to typing.

Once Santo had come inside he took a seat and watched the ladies. He had to admit that so far everyone here was pretty good looking, including Cove. As he was sitting there he remembered a call he was suppose to make once he had gotten settled in.
He stood and turned to Kitty saying, "You'll have to excuse me I forgot about a private call I need to make." ((sorry but I thought it best to set it up so he could be out of the way till I get back)) |

Santo gave her one last smile and headed up to his room. Once he was in he locked it and sat down. He wanted to run his hand through his hair, bad habit of his, but decided he would rather his hair stay nice. He pulled out his other cell from his bag and dialed. This was going to be a conversation he didn't want to have but what could he do.

Hal was tempted to shred the manga to bits...quit his job...move out of town....change his name and phone number...Yes, that all sounded perfect.
Too bad that damn editor was an ookami....stupid mutt...he was never fond of dogs... Sighing, Hal patted the envelope on his knee several times. He needed to pay his rent, and he'd get paid upfront for the next chapter....That was the deal he had with them anyway...along with the 65% of every sale made... He stood up grouchily and slipped his coat on, stuffing the envelope in his pocket though mindful not to bend it too much. Hal reached for the door and took his time down the stairs, no need to rush was there? He could hear several new voices from the office and just as he went down the next flight of stairs he saw a door close. 'Someone must have actually been interested in that weird sign Kitty plastered everywhere...' he thought. |
(-sigh- Thats fine. What time is it at your place, Ice? Right now its 4:11 Pm. Well im on now...so uhhh...i'll find something to do I guess.)
Lacey nodded, gathered her things, and trudged over to her room. 'I can finally take a long..deserved..re-' She dozed of happily, smack dab in the middle of the floor. It was a hard surface, but Lacey didn't mind. Anything would do at this time. |
