Well I keep coming up with a bunch of different ideas so I decided to just make one thread for them all.

-Menewsha Video-
I think that there should be a menewsha video welcoming members and showing off the site etc, like a montage of menewsha.com. They should put it on a bunch of video uploading sites like youtube. By doing this you are advertising to thousands of new people all of the place. It would be an easy and great way to invite new members. But the more views you have for the video that more popular it gets and more it gets advertised around the video uploading site. There could be an announcement when it is done being uploaded around the place with links to them. That way people all around menewsha can go and watch the videos making it more popular (more views for the video).


-More hair styles and colors-
Um well, I keep noticing how different the blues and greens and stuff are different shades then what the items are. Idk, could we maybe get a little more options? I am always stuck on what hair color I should choose because they are not the same shade as the items :/ Like my avatar on now, could we get a blue more like the color on the blue on my pants and shirt? It just seems like there should be more shades of colors.

Also, I noticed there are not very many "male" hair styles. I found a few that are male hair styles but there are just so many female hair styles. Idk, it seems weird to have to wear girl hair only because if I don't, the male hair will stick out of the top of my crown or hat and stuff. I could maybe find some pictures and suggest what hair styles?

Idk, those are two passing thoughts I had when making my avatar :D.


-Side Panels-
I was thinking about the space we had on the left and right side of the screen where there is just the background. Why don't we have a side panel where it could give us a quick access to different things? We could have an option to put what we want on these side panels and a option if we want it at all by going to "My Account". It would be really handy. What I would put on it is:

My post
My created threads
Edit profile
Also like an option to put threads of my choice (I would put the staff list, Npc list, helpful guides, etc)
Also maybe the last 5 post people have made on the forum
Idk, anything else that we could think of haha.

It would make things a lot easier and would make use of the space on the left or right.

-Shout Box-
Ok so I was thinking how I love chatting in a shout box on some of the vB sites I go on. I know if it was put on an avatar website then no one would post in the forums and it ruin a bunch of things. BUT it also gave me another idea. Why not putting a shout box/ chat box on the top of some of the forums like the grand exchange? The reason to have it there is for this:

When you do updates on what you are selling or buying you can post once and let everyone know that you are selling something. This would make it so much easier for people looking to buy certain items. When you see the post in the chat box that has an item you want then you could click the name, send you to their profile and send them a message saying you are interested :D. This would be extremely helpful cause it would make it so you do not have to search through all of the threads seeing if people are selling what you are looking for.

It could help in other forums too for contest, updates,etc.

-Menewsha Equipment-
Well I was kind of curious, why has menewsha not made any t-shirts,mouse pads,etc yet? Then I thought it is probably because of the money required to make them. My mother owns an online business and a few years ago she was looking for a way to advertise too. There is a website called cafepress.com This is what it does:

You have to pay NOTHING to be apart of it and you do not have to pay for t-shirts, or ANYTHING.
You give them a graphic and they put it on the items you requested. The items you select you want to put the graphic on will go into your cafepress.com store where anyone of the thousands of people on cafepress can look at. On top of all of that, the current members can pay to buy these items. The person that sets up his store can CHOOSE the prices he wants for the items. This is the catch, once someone buys a shirt the cafepress will take a small fee from the price, hardly anything though. So the owner of menewsha would not have to pay ANYTHING to get all of this but once someone buys an object, the owner of menewsha will get some money and cafepress will earn a few dollars. Also, there are so many things to put them on, like mouse pads,coffee mugs, teddy bears, t shirts, sweat shirts, you name it! This is a great way for menewsha to earn money for updates, its a great way to introduce new members, and it is a great way for the members of menewsha to get items that show off there favorite website xD.

-Newbies Portal :D-
How about when there is a new member that there will be a small thing called a "portal" for them. Or a pop-up would do :D. What this will do is have a ton of information, and links to threads and the explanation of what the site is for, explaining different sections, explaining the economy and the item, etc. Make it so every time the user goes to the front page for the first week this pop-up/portal will be there. This will make it so new comers will be so much more knowledgeable about the site and can have more fun faster. It also lets them be aware about all of the different ways to get/gain gold and that sort of stuff.

If you organize the items by Store instead of by layer (Sort By > Store) on the MAC, you'll know what store they are in. It will also tell you what items are event items and contribution items.

A search is still a good idea, but for now, there's that way.

Yeah but I believe there are a lot of items that are missing in the MAC that are in the current shops o.o I was just using the MAC as a reference, I am also meaning when you see something on someones avatar that you like that you can also search up that item without having to open up MAC and seeing if it has it. Which gives me another idea :D. - Updates first post-

Oh yeah, there are hundreds of items missing from the MAC I'm sure. All the recent event items and CIs. That stuff adds up fast.

And there are plenty of handy inventory tools that they could cook up for us, it just all depends on how hard it is to create that code. Hopefully, we'll get some way to search and organize soon, because the more items they put out, the harder it is to slog through the stores.

Haha yeah, I was kind of hoping menewsha was going to work on a marketplace (kind of like gaia's) but I guess that will not happen for the mere fact that it would make menewsha too much like gaia :p.

You can already see your last posts by going to your profile, clicking statistics, and clicking "Find all posts by SouLSuRv1vER".

As for searching shops, as has already been stated, it would very much hurt the server, so I doubt we'll have a search shops feature anytime soon.

I don't really get what you mean by a welcoming video? Do you mean a video showing off the sites features or a video showing new users? I think a thread that explains the site might be a good idea, like a site encycolpedia type thing. It may work better than a video.

I was meaning like a thread that has all that information in one, perhaps with screenshots to help users find things better. Like the control panel, explaining what happens in the trade section or in the inbox feature, just things like that.

Just updated a very confusing suggestion that people might enjoy :o. Yes, my idea is very complicated and if it were to made it would take a long time because the vBulletin reputation system would have to be configured with haha xD.

@New idea: Depending on your aspect ratio, those side panels might not even display. I'd be fine with having a cool background to fill the space, like there was on Halloween, but it probably wouldn't be feasible to cram them full of content without mucking up the current layout. (This is just my 2 cents. I'm not particularly knowledgeable about web design.)

I don't like reading your suggestions because the small font combined with the bright blue and bolding makes it a little awkward to read. So I tend to just read the first sentence then give up and go away.

Ferra - Yeah it is true that would take up space but I believe there could be a option where it would fold up in a very small bar on the left. It would have just enough room for an arrow to fit in it. You can click on the arrow to move it out and click it again to make it smaller. xD

Yeah that is one of my other suggestions, cool backgrounds. I think it would be cool to collect the event backgrounds every year and make it so we could have a choice to view it with the backgrounds we collect.

I have an eeepc, so I don't see the sidebars most of the time. I'd rather not have a feature like that since that would require me to side scroll, and the side scroll bar takes up even more of my precious vertical space that I'd rather not lose.

An eeepc? Not even sure what that is lol. Well possibly for users like yourself it could be made to be "disabled". Where it will not show up on your screen until you enable it.

Just looked up eeepc. Lol, that is a small labtop, sort of like a notebook. I have seen them before.

The Reputation idea has been brought up before. Honestly, I think it would turn into a popularity contest and/or ass-kissing contest. Not sure how I would feel about that. =/

We already have a reputation system on this software. We just don't use it for the exact reasons that Bartuc mentioned. We don't want to impliment something that could be used in a nasty or spiteful way. Which vBulletin's could be because a user's rep is affects by other people voting them up or down. No way we want something like that because it would be way too open to malicious abuse, sadly :(

Oh :(. It would be fun but your right, with menewsha growing there will just be too many people abusing it :/.
