Alarmed, Rae stood up, and wrapped both of her arms around him. Carefully, she lowered him to the ground so that he didn't fall over. She couldn't remember him ever being like that before. It worried her. Making sure to keep her arms around him, she rearranged herself better so that she was more comfortable, so that she could wait right there. |
his eyes opened slowly and he blinked a couple of times. not sure of what happened he laughed it off.
"heh, sorry about that. i must have focused so hard on the fire that it put me to sleep. i didnt mean to worry you." He looked around for a blanket for the two of them to share but couldnt remember where she had put them. "umm, where are the blankets? i was thinking, if you wanted to, we could watch the fire tonight. sound like a good idea?" |
She looked at him concerned, and not letting go of him. She had no idea what just happened, but that didn't look like falling asleep to her. Not wanting to scare him, she smiled. "Um, sure. I put them in that chest over there." |
He looked over towards the chest she was pointing at. he sat up and got light headed again. he laid back down till the dizziness went away.
"whoa, got up to fast. heh. give me a sec and ill get the blanket." |
Putting a hand on him, she looked at him. 'You're not moving. Don't even try to argue." Standing up, she walked over to the chest, and pulled out a big blanet. Walking back over, she laid it over him, sitting beside him. |
he watched her watch him as if he may pass out again and smiled.
"Thank you." He laid his head in her lap and watched the fire |
She smiled, and rested one hand on his head as if comforting him. Turning her gaze towards the fire, she also turned her thoughts inward. There were things that were starting to bother her that she wanted to try to figure out. |
he smiled at the feel of her hand on his forehead. he rolled over onto his back to look up at her, but she was looking into the fire. Deep into the fire. He watched as her focus increased. Wondering what she was thinking, or who was thinking, he just watch, and waited for reaction.

As the minutes ticked by, her concentration increased. As it did, the flickering of the flames changed. They went from erratic and unpredictable, to calm and reserved. It was as if she was "crystal gazing," but in a fire. |
he wondered rather or not he should try to bring her back to reality. but if he did, who would regain consciouness first? he kept watching her, not willing to harm her mentally, and for fear he would,all he could do in this moment was watch. He didnt even focus on his mind, he wasonly focusing on her. Her eyes, her hair, the reflection of the fire bouncing across her face. she stared off into the flames still.

As she was staring into the fire, she gained a new air about her. It wasn't that she held herself different, or the look in her eyes changed. It was that she just seemed, different somehow. The minutes continued to tick by as she continued to watch the flames. |
He shivered as he felt a change. nothing physical changed that he could see, but something had. Her aura felt different and it made him uneasy.
perhaps this has gone on for long enough he began to worry as he sat up, for she wasnt even acknowledging him. He waved his hand in front of her and she looked through it as if it wasnt there. He took a deep sigh and hoped she wouldnt take this the wrong way. He closed his eyes and movd in, softly kissing her, he slowly opened his eyes and waited for a reaction as he pulled back and laid back down. |
A moment or so after he kissed her, she started, confused. She blinked, and looked at him as if she wasn't sure about something. "Did you just...? How long was I...? I'm confused." |
He smiled at the sight of her coming to. But she looked confused so he played along without worrying her
"hey there, you back? you were daydreaming into the fire. so i figured that would bring you back. you feeling ok?" he felt her forehead to see if it was warm, but he soon realized being infront of the fire made that gesture useless. |
She blinked at him once more, still confused. What made her more confused was that he was feeling her forehead. "Why are you feeling my forehead? And I'm still confused. You only answered half the questions." |
"Well, you were daydreaming for sometime, and i wanted to see if you were feverish"
He kept looking at her with a calmness in his eyes, trying to keep her calm. "To answer your questions, you were out for a little bit, and you werent acknowledging anything, so i kissed you." He blushed, fearful he did something wrong. he continued. "im sorry if that was a bad choice but i began to worry" |
She looked at him wide eyed, and wasn't sure what to say. She just sat there for a moment, then wrapped her arms around his neck. "Thank you for worrying about me." She flashed him a smile, and kissed him softly. She loved that he worried way too much, but then again someone had to. |
he sighed as she hugged him. Happy to have her back, he kissed her cheek and patted the ground next to him so that she may join him laying down.

Smiling, she laid down. Resting her head on his chest, she sighed. "Why DO you worry about me so much?" |
he looked down at her on his chest, thought for a sec, then smirked.
"heh, why do you care so much?" |
She sat up, and looked at him. "Because you care about me. And there's something about you." |
He flashed a warm loveing smile to Rae. His eyes narrowed and became glossy. Sighing, he laid his head back down.
"Theres something about you as well. And the fact you care about me, makes worrying about you worth it." He had a sudden uneasiness feeling as he decided to be a little more open with her. "you see, i dont remember anything before that stormy night that i collapsed and we met. I know theres a past brewing within me, but it doesnt feel natural. I dont want you to get hurt. because i do care, and thats why i worry...." He trailed off, then looked back at her for a reply... |
She looked at him for a moment, taking in what he said to her. She trusted him, and she knew that he trusted her. The problem was that it seemed like he didn't trust himself. She laid back down, one hand resting against his cheek as she looked at him. "I won't get hurt. You won't hurt me. I know you won't. Sure, you have a rocky past that you don't remember, but that's okay. I'm not worried. Besides, I'm going to help." She smiled at him, and kissed him softly again, then laid her head back on his chest and wrapped one arm around him. |
His eyes widened. He tilted his head up and looked at her
"your....gonna help...me?" The words had trouble passing his lips as he said them. "...how?" before she had a chance to answer, he wrapped his arms around her and hugged her gently. "thank you, for everything" ..he said softly |
She smiled and lifted her head to look at him again. "Because I want to, and because I believe that I can." Laying her head back down, she closed her eyes and listened to his heartbeat. |
