Latest Poem (You and Your Wings)
1.You and Your Wings
Beneath the weight of sorrow-ridden tears Left uncried inside my soul, I feel the weight of many years Begging me to just let go, Inside the familiar, velvet dark I feel at home within the cold, I wrap it around me like a shield When even my own words get old, Beyond the rarity of my smile There lies a piece of my heart, Covered in the debris of time Waiting to be torn apart, Pain is all I have ever known, Until your smile made me ask,"Why?" I had been stranded in the ashes Until your wings taught me to fly. 2.The Story Noone Knows Today I took time to think, Stepped back and watched my memories, Some I held closely and others I let go. I listened to my heart awhile, Listened to the story, The story noone knows. I paused to let the wind blow by, Let it mess up my hair, And I let out a weary sigh. I felt everything around me stir, And for once I didn't hold back, As the bitter, salty tears fell from my eyes. |
Wonderful! I love both of them. I can totally relate to both. I love the metaphors and titles. Keep up the great work!:)
