Yeah, I wouldn't have, but then I couldn't really simplify it enough and it upset me at the time to have something like that said to me. ><;;
Didn't help I was in a crap mood from some other people either. But I could remove the post if its too personal.

Rain:] 01-24-2010 12:56 AM

It's alright, Suona. I was just wondering if you were or not, because I honestly didn't think I made it seem like anything like that. I know I'm not the best with words.
I don't think Derrick meant to blow up on you like that.. But I'm going through a really bad time right now, so he's been kinda.. antsy lately. >_<;;
No hard feelings, guys..

MurasakiCrown 01-25-2010 07:55 PM

I've had my avatar rated multiple times when I ask people to skip me, and while the rates are flattering, what about the person that was actually SUPPOSED to get a rate? If they rate both of us I don't mind. It's when they ignore the person above me that I start feeling bad.

Also, holding grudges over pixel rates is rather silly..

"3 | 10 Yahh! Because you is nekki!!!11 D :<"

A liiiittle~ exagerated, but you ATLEAST get the point.

Anyhoo, who cares if an avi's naked or not~ as long as it looks good. v.v;;
If there is NO items on it at all. Sure. I'd give it a 3 too, but...
If it actually looks decent, I think you should give it a fair rate.
Not some quicky because you don't think it matters~

I just hate that. >3<
I like going around nekki. D ':

I've noticed that many people get upset when they have an avi with very few items and people say incomplete, but there isn't usually much a person can say. If you have too few items on, then they can't quite make any suggestions because they have no idea where its going because it could most likely go anywhere.
If someone has so few items and doesn't want to be told they're incomplete, then they could just not post in rating forums, especially if they already know they aren't wearing much at all. Sometimes people expect more from raters then they can give.
I agree with that one Suona, but what annoys me is when someone says that and an avatar has quite a few items or enough to atleast give it a top and a bottom. Some people seem to expect an avatar to have a billion layers or to have more than lets say shoes, top and some bottoms equipped. There are people who like to create simple avatars and so they do not take advantage of the layering system as much. I really, really hope that makes sense. x.x I am more or less thinking of people who want there avatar to have a simple theme to it.

I get annoyed with ratings that don't go by the cosplays you're doing with your avatar even after you've stated it's a cosplay, told who of, and given a picture so the next person knows. I've gotten a few of those with cosplays on another community, never on here though. I've yet to do any cosplaying on Menewsha.

One rating I remember was when I was cosplaying Sora and the person was like, "The items look thrown on randomly and don't match at all", even when I gave the information of my cosplay so people were informed when they went to rate.

Furious 01-28-2010 04:10 AM

I really hate that my avatar gets low rates because "Red and black is SO overdone". Just because a lot of people have it, why should that make a difference? Don't punish ME for what other people have, thanks. It's not fair.

Also please don't tell me that my ice cream doesn't match because the stick is brown. It makes you look like an over-assessing idiot.

Oh yes, these comments annoy me too. It happened to me once with a white and black theme I did on Ernya. I think that the outfit can look really well done if the person knows how to do it right. It doesn't matter if a combination is "over done".

MurasakiCrown 01-28-2010 03:54 PM

The pop's brown too! lol

On the comment of color schemes: For me it's not usually the color scheme, but what people use it for. A lot of times people go for evil/scary/vampire avis that all end up looking the same and then everyone starts looking like everyone else.

There are some really neat, clever ones, but a lot of people end up using such similar item combination that you have to wonder if they agreed to wear similar outfits x.x

Cora 01-28-2010 05:02 PM

I agree, when I rate avi's I look for origonality. If that origonality is in fact a cosplay or theme I rate on that. But if you where simply going for color then I will probably tell you you look alot like other people I've seen if in fact you do...its really not personal.

Loving Platty's avi at the moment though.

MurasakiCrown 01-28-2010 05:23 PM

I refuse to not wear purple. People who tell me to will be ignored lol.

And thank you very much >///<

Cora 01-28-2010 06:09 PM

lol, I would never dare to tell you not to wear purple xP

you tend to use it an still be origonal though xP

MurasakiCrown 01-28-2010 07:09 PM

That's always nice to hear :oops:

Cora 01-28-2010 07:40 PM

lol, I only speak the truth ^.~

Well... >_> I must be color blind up until now. I feel bad for whoever called it brown now.

Now that I see it, I just can't unsee it. It looked black before U_U Well i'm keeping it.

Cora 01-28-2010 08:04 PM

lol, dont you love how that works xP

MurasakiCrown 01-28-2010 08:06 PM

It's a pretty dark shade of brown anyway X'D

Suona 02-04-2010 06:54 AM

It took me awhile to notice it was brown, too
But I equipped mine one day and noticed it, but it still does seem black at first sometimes. haha.

Yeah, I know what you mean. ><;;
I have a rather diverse choice in my avis. I'll wear super layers, or i'll wear very few layers. But it all depends on how they fit together or how they portray my theme. Like right now I have very few, and I dont want to add more because that would make it over complicated and ruin the look.
So, yeah, I know what you mean. Just because you choose not to use a lot of layers doesn't mean you're not capable of doing so or that you're just not trying hard enough. It sometimes suits and avi more and suits someones style more. Not everyone likes to cover every single part of the body with 20+ items everytime all the time. I'll do that sometimes, but you can mix it up too and still have it look good. :]

Rain:] 02-05-2010 01:54 AM

When I'm in the middle of making an avatar is the worst. I don't know if I said it already, but there's new things to it now.
I mean, people are really good at making things look a lighter/darker shade of color, and I tried it. I guess it looked okay, until someone said, "Your (so-and-so) is (this color), not (this color). Good try, though - 5/10"
Like really? Nobody else could tell. You must have had me on 10000% zoom or something and paying really close attention. >_< And then everyone started noticing, so I just killed the whole avatar.
And I'm back here now, at the first avi I had. -sigh-

I think people need to focus less on the errors (OMG that one shade of red is one shade too dark omg omg omg.....your avi totally sucks) and focus on the good things. I've talked to quite a few people outside the AC who wont come anywhere near it because it makes them feel there avi's are inadequet(sp?)

I think this is what bugs me the most xP
sorry for the little rant, most people here are nice people accept when they are rateing xP

This is why I wished they hadn't strictly enforced the rule that you couldn't give one word posts in the "Which avatar do you like better?" thread because sometimes I don't have anything POSITIVE to say about the avatars above me, so I just want to give which one I like better and not comment on it, which was what I was doing before in that kind of situation, but one of the staff members got really mad at me and now to be able to post there I sometimes have to insult people's self-expression.

I mean, I understand why the rule is there and I agree with it, but I wish it was easier to comment on the avatars.

MurasakiCrown 02-05-2010 04:37 AM

One of the points of banning the 1-word posts is because without any discussion, it might as well go in the word games section, where you get no gold for your posts. At least TRY to say something nice.
I'm extremely picky and even I can do it. And if not, don't post until you think you can say something nice. It's not the only thread in the entire Avatar Chat forums. The point of Menewsha's forums, as opposed to say..Gaia's, is more interaction as opposed to one-word posts that really do nothing.

shadow-universe 02-05-2010 07:18 PM

Yeah indeed.
I also have my own style.
I like it to combine nature colors or dark with light things.
And I dont care what others say. xD
