ChimeraBell 01-16-2010 05:06 PM

I've never heard of it but now that I have, I'm sooooo gonna read it!

Vashra 01-21-2010 10:35 AM

Its a book that is only leeching of the twilight series's fame, its not really witty or funny at all imo. But if you want something shallow with real base humor stuff like fart jokes i guess its an ok read. *shrug*

~NorthEastFire~ 01-22-2010 03:02 PM

I've read a few excerpts from it online.

I didn't think it was that funny. Being a Twilight hater, I guess I was expecting more out of a parody.

Nightlight: A Twilight Parody

If you've read the Twilight series and hated it, I suggest Nightlight, by the Harvard Lampoon. I cried my way through the book laughing so hard, it's absolutely ridiculous. I'm almost sad I let my boyfriend borrow it. The book is about Bella Goose who moves to Switchblade to live with her windowwasher father who gifts her with a U-Haul truck when she arrives. She goes to school and sees Edwart Mullen and falls in love with him, instantly under the impression he's a vampire and spends the book trying to convince him to bite her and make her a vampire. There's a lot more to it, but I'm not at liberty to ruin the book. What was your favorite part?

I must find this! It sounds like an absolute riot! XD

It was out on display in the front of Borders books, the second I saw it, it was bought and in a bag. I love this book almost more than my Grimm Fairy Tales Book or my Carnelian Artbook.

:O
I heard of this!
I was going to read it! NOW I WANT TOOOO<3

Well, I never could bring myself to even try reading a Twilight book. This, however, sounds like something I could really sink my teeth into. (Yes, the horrendous pun was absolutely intended. I'm a Xanth fan from way back.)

Hi, Risika-chan! Since a thread about Nightlight already exists, I'm merging your thread into the existing one. In the future, be sure to check to see if a thread already exists on a subject before making a new one. I saw the book in Borders and immediately had to buy it. Haven't had a chance to read it yet, since my reading list is so very long at the moment, but I'm really looking forward to it. I imagine it'll at least be better written than Twilight. 8D

I agree. There isn't really anything funny about this book.

bakacoconut 03-13-2010 11:22 PM

My girlfriend and I nabbed the book. The ridiculousness is what makes it funny, I think.

D.J. Dead 03-14-2010 04:12 AM

My friend had it and I read the back cover and it sounded halarious!

The Enchanted Tiara 03-22-2010 02:10 AM

I read it. They were good at picking out the mistakes and unrealistic characterizations of Bella, but I wasn't rolling on the floor laughing or anything while I read it.
