I already posted my story in here a few pages back.
But I thought of another story I had with my period.
I was in middle school, can't remember the grade though.
Anyways, my mom made me dress up like in khaki pants and a nice shirt (which I hated very much)
I don't know when I had my period because I just didn't notice it was on, but kids were snickering but I just shrugged it off.
When I got home though, I went to the bathroom and THEN noticed that there was a huge blood stain on my khaki pants.
So I gave them to my grandmother so that she could wash them (she was doing laundry at the time)
To this day, I never wear khaki pants.
Never really liked them anyways though.

I gotta say, this is a pretty fun thread.
anyway,
I got my period when I was 12, and I had been anxious for it to happen, and was prepared for any time that it might. But when it did, I had no idea what it was, still. I was with my sister at home, and I told her "Get dad, i'm bleeding and I should go to the hospital!" And my sister, who was 9 years old at the time, said "or maybe it's your period."
I didn't want to tell my dad, so I put a bunch of tissues in my pants and left my mom a message at work.

My sister was 11 when she got hers, and there was absolutely nothing dramatic or crazy about hers, maybe because coincidentially my mom and my sister and I had been talking about periods earlier that day. So when my mom told my sister not to be afraid to talk to me about periods, I thought she was just continuing the conversation from earlier, and i didn't know my sister had just gotten her period, until my sister said later that she felt like she was wearing a diaper.

I think I started between my 5th and 6th grade year.

And if I have female children-I'm really thinking about getting organic food for them. Don't want a nine year old or younger running up to me thinking they're dying when it is just hell coming for them.

I was at a camp when mine started-no biggie. *shrugs* They gave me pads and said if I needed to wash clothes to tell them.

But since then it has been fun. Like my periods are very irregular and heavy. Like I think I've went a year or so without one (I'm 20 now). But my uterus is normal and so are my hormones. But this summer was fun *sarcasm*. 10 days+ of bleeding to death and being dizzy. (Avoiding movement is the way to go.) You know those gigantic always pads? The size smaller than overnight (weird shaped man) I used at least 4 of those a day. Then I would have 10 days or less off of the bleeding and then guess what? LET'S BLEED AGAIN!

I got put on birth control. Yaz to be specific. I bleed lighter and cramp less. But now ever month or two (or maybe three) I spot for half the pack.

Oh and is it normal to start you period on the last day of inactive pills or the first day of the next pack? (I read somewhere you should bleed on the inactives pretty much and then stop) I just want to make sure because if it isn't I'll talk to my doctor about it when I go to get refills.

I'd also like to add that almost every female on my dad's side has messed up periods-except one cousin. Grrrrrrrr.
I liked my irregular periods until this summer btw. And there is also female cancer on both sides of my family. My grandma died of it before I was born and my aunt had a hysterectomy to get rid of it. I know that had nothing to with anything lol.

So this isn't abnormal on my dad's side. Maybe it is genetic? I wonder if I can have kids....(I don't want kids-I want cousins to have kids instead so once the kids hit toddler-I can watch them and they can watch anime with me :3)

I had my period when I was 9 and a half years old. I didn't even get my sex education yet. So I was in the shower one day then I saw blood trickling down my thighs and I was screaming and just stayed in the shower for hours crying. I got really scared and I thought I was dying and all the typical things a girl can think of when they dont know what a period is.

So when my nanny found blood on my skirt and underwear (which I didn't really notice somehow O_O ) She then found me naked in the bathtub and I was looking up at her helpless and going like, "I'm dying right..? Am I dying? What's happening to me!"

So then after helping me clean up she slowly explained everything. My reaction after that was "PHEW!" xDDDD

Then at the age of 10 when I was in 5th grade (I was in the USA that time). That's when they explained this thing in more detail and sophisticated way I started to understand everything Rated R very slowly xDDD And to my surprise, only 4 other people got it too out of the 48 girls in the assembly that time. It was weird.

The girls were all giggling we couldnt' stop xD. I remember some brave soul asking the question, "Why does period smell like fish?" and EVERYBODY was laughing. I nearly fell off of my chair xD

Haha. lol. My elementary made us start sex-ed in 3RD GRADE. most people got their periods in 5th grade, when they were 10 or 11. Whenever a person got their period in class, the teachers (expesially the guy teachers) would jump away because it smelt like fish and tell them to rub the blood off the seats. For one girl, she was standing up and it happened when she was giving her english report. she was just standing there and didn't move. It was a really long time of akward silence. the coincidince was, her name was MARY and people started calling her BLOODY MARY. she transferred to a public school then. I would've just chopped the people's head's off. really.

JibrilleFreyaSeraphiel 12-16-2009 09:52 PM

Well I see that certain schools teach about sex much earlier than usual now a days. Thank god mine happened during a weekend when I was at home otherwise I may have suffered and its true that when people make fun of you when you are at such a sensitive time of your life. That is pretty mean of those kids. I sympathise with you completely when you say that you could just chop their heads off. I would have felt like doing that too. xD

i was 11 and it was when i got up in the morning to go to school and it was also my dads b-day. i was freaked out by it and i thought my life was over. the most embarrasing part is when my brother who is 8 years older than me found out. but sometimes they only last 3 days and r light but other times ill be doubled over in pain and it will last about a week. talk about annoying

Franz the Havoc 12-17-2009 09:03 PM

Can't say that I have. My girlfriend told me about hers once though. She said that she was visiting her dad and she went to the bathroom and found out that she had bled all through her favorite shorts. She said she asked her dad to leave so that her dad's girlfriend could talk to her. It must have really sucked. I'm so lucky I don't have to go through the things women have to go through. I can't imagine how awful is.

~Sara Lee Cupcake~ 12-17-2009 09:19 PM

@Franz the Havoc yeah it sucks its the worst thing about being a girl. ur lucky.

HarukosHellkitten 12-18-2009 02:57 AM

I was about 11 when I first got my period and it was so scary because I didn't know about it. I woke up for school and I went to the bathroom and I screamed and my mom came running and I looked at her from the toilet crying and sobbing asking "Mom am I gonna die?" needless to say I'm not dead yet XD but I just got the DEPO shot and my period is all irregular and very painful. I miss my regular week periods.

portraitinblack 12-19-2009 01:11 AM

I'm eighteen, so I would really, really hope I'd had mine by now x3 If I didn't, I'd probably be freaking out. Anyway, I had mine when I was in sixth grade (I was eleven too!). There wasn't much embarrassing about the period itself; I noticed it in time.

Basically, I went home, had to use the washroom, and noticed it. I told my mom I thought I should go to the hospital because it didn't SEEM like I thought a period would be. She realized what it was, told me, got all awkward and creepy emotional. I told her whatever she did, she could NOT tell my dad. Of course, she had no choice in the matter - she couldn't go to the store to get me anything for it, and my dad was the only one who could. She was telling me about how it was all a part of growing up and I said I wanted to go to Neverland (oh boy ><) and stay the same age forever. THEN, I asked if she had one, and she said no, because of surgery she had after I was born. I told her I wanted that surgery. Immediately.

I still haven't crossed that out xD I don't want kids, ever, so it's not a big deal to me. Periods suck.

Clair Voyant 12-20-2009 07:12 PM

Everyone has early tales of starting. For me, it was the opposite.
I was a bit older than the average girl when I got mine.
There were no stories to it starting. Very uneventful, other than the fact I was a bit older than most. I was either 14 almost 15 or 15 almost 16. Can't remember. Pretty sure I was 15, though.

KamenRiderNadeshiko 12-20-2009 11:46 PM

I was in the 6th grade (about eleven or so). I was getting ready for school when I noticed a bit of blood in the toilet. I was freaked out, so I didn't tell my mom about it right way. Before we were suppost to leave I kept deciding wether or not to tell her, eventually my mom made me tell her. I didn't go to school that day because we didn't have any pads at home, except for the one the nurse gave all the girls they year before when the school made us watch that disturbing filmstrip.
I didn't have another one for about three months. Which is not unusuall for young girls.

I was supprised when it happend. I thought it wouldn't happen to me until I was a teenager. I later learned that girls who are more heavy set are more likely to start sooner than girls who are skinny (I was a slightly chubby child).

Synthetika 12-21-2009 12:21 AM

O_o ok so 11 i can see that, but 10 or younger seems so early to me! crazyness >.> is it gonna be 6 year olds in a few years? >.>

my story is quite boring ~_~ I was 14 it was a weekend and i was just sitting at home when oh what do you know i go to the bathroom and discover i had started... lol my mom was home so she helped me out, yea pretty boring story huh?

white12lily 12-21-2009 01:56 AM

Mines started on my birthday when I turned 12. Luckily I was home, but my mom and older sisters were overjoyed for some reason.

Chatterbox 12-21-2009 02:51 AM

I got mine when I was twelve... I tried to hide that I had my period from my mom for a while. Cause I knew exactly what she was gonna say, "Your becoming a woman!...Let's celebrate!...and blah blah blah."
It wasn't so bad though. I was sleeping over my cousins house then, when I noticed blood stains on my pajamas.
Im glad my period is irregular though. I could have it once a month and then I wouldn't get it for a couple of months.

PaintTheSkyRed 12-21-2009 02:55 AM

I was twelve in P.E. class wearing light pink shorts, so I went to the bathroom and for a second I thought I was internally bleeding, something being majorly wrong but a second later I was like "Oh crap." So called my mom and got picked up, and she did the 'Your a woman' now lecture.

Dear Derrick, 12-21-2009 03:10 AM

Derrick has had his period!

. . . . . Okay, I haven't. I just felt left out.
I HAVE FEELINGS TOO!
-cries-

EDIT: . . .I didn't do that. My friend Brandon is over and he wanted to make a joke about it. ><;; Sorry girls!

Indigo of Madness 12-21-2009 04:17 AM

My "starting" wasn't embarrassing or weird. I was 9 when it happened though, so it was a little freaky for me.
I had just woken up in the morning and I was going to the bathroom and I saw blood in my underwear, and I was all like, "Um, Mommy! I think you need to come here! o_O" and she was all excited for me for some reason and I was just kind of sitting there like, "Ick..."

Alegretto 12-21-2009 07:09 AM

I had mine... I don't remember when. 6th grade sometime, I think. Thankfully my mother is a gynecologist, so she already had me prepared for it. It was more of an "Ooh, blood! Neat!" reaction than anything else though.

Uchiha13 12-22-2009 04:37 PM

I was around 11 or 12 but I was home so it wasn't that bad

Fuulie 12-22-2009 05:13 PM

I was nine. >_<
Luckily it started overnight so I didn't have to worry about people seeing or noticing. That would have been so awful.

Rain:] 12-22-2009 09:05 PM

6th grade. My parents were in New York for a vacation so I was with family friends. I thought that maybe I'd cut myself with my nails from washing, because it was only so little blood.

The couple is like in their late 40's and early 50's so she was excited because their kids had grown up and moved. She called my mom and my mom gave me the whole 'woman' lecture over the phone and promised to pay her back for the pads. ><;;

DinoKisses 12-23-2009 02:10 AM

fuck, i dont even remember how old i was but i remember freaking out, i was at home though so its okay

but i started again in the middle of gym class again, i was pissed.
