:/ Aw. Well, then I think I can do that my self. Thanks, though.
Well, are you two having fun tonight around Mene? |
Well, I'm finally able to see my computer screen, now that the sun is heading down. And if you do have any questions you would like me to answer, Teardrop, please feel free to ask.
|
Alright then. I can't ask too much at the same time since I haven't made actual list of questions and then there would probbaly much writing for you to do.
Well, alright, here goes a question. Have they saved their mouth to mouth folk-lore still, do they give their songs further to next generations still, and do this all still have a meaning in their actual life, or they have kept it only as show for tourists? EDIT: Well, if you know if there is any page by made Indians them self, not jsut American texts, I would love link to that. ^^ |
Well, to be perfectly honest, that is what the Native American Reservations are set up for. All over the country there are Reservations set up for the Native Americans to continue with their cultures without the interruption from the otherwise distracting American lifestyle.
The only "show" that really gets put on are the annual pow wows. However, these are much more than they appear, as they are a way for the Native Americans to earn profit by trading their goods. In the Reservations, most, if not all, customs are still followed. EDIT: This is one of their official websites: http://www.cherokee.org/ |
In Reservations there is no hunting or anything else to use this knowledge, like predicting the weather for the enxt season/year that could come in handy before, preparing for winter, etc. How do they save and keep this knowledge, have they found other way to show it to their own chidlren and give it further?
And then this would be like the last question for tonight: is there any tribe (I don't actually know how each of this seprated small nation should be called) you have come in closer interaction with and if yes, which? |
I used to regularly visit the pow wows. I happen to be a good deal Cherokee, with my Grandmother on my Fathers side being full blooded. My Grandmother on my mothers side was half, but I'm not sure what tribe.
I decided to study the Shamanism of my own accord, due to a visitation from my Spirit Guide when I was 9. Its actually a long story how it happened and what the result of the visit was. |
Wolfie...I am part Blackfoot Indian from Kansas, or Missouri, somewhere in that area.
|
Sweet! I love meeting fellow Natives! *Clings to her*
|
Wow. Thats... Thats amazing. *hugs* Thank you so much for sharing. I am absolutely... Amazed. And extatic. Beyond Menewhsa, or show or anything.
I am heading off right now, but I promise to explain soon. Its truly beyond just the interest in the show. *hugs again* I wish this was a real hug I could give you. |
*Blushes but hugs her with a smile* See you later Teardrop.
|
Wolfie, you're too funny. I have dark brown hair and blue eyes, plus one heck of a tan in the summer. My dad has/had the darker, almost black hair. I think I am 1/64 native american, which makes me not much at all >.<
|
I'm blonde haired and blue eyed. You can completely tell the Native heritage with my Father though.
|
My grandmother was the one that still got benefits from the tribe every month. Not sure if my dad does, I know that I am one generation out of the money.
|
Same here, my dad can get it if he wanted to, but he's pretty lazy about those things.
|
Good afternoon Wolfie. Sorry for the delay in being here, had lots of things going on at once. Plus being sick right now is dragging me down. Hope your new year is going well.
|
Indeed, and I really hope you feel better soon.
|
Wolfie is still questing! Only 13 days left of serious questing!
|
Why just the 13 days?
I am doing better, but the body is still rebelling against me. So I took today off again because damn it, I don't want to have to worry about stuff going wrong with me while at work. |
The day of Charity Opening, Wolfie? o:
Oh, I am sorry to hear about that, Quest Queenie! >: *huggles* |
Yush! After I open the charity, I'll probably start focusing on getting store items. I won't be buying CIs for a while after that. Takes too long to save up the gold for em.
|
Well, there are always Wishing Wells, GBA and Raffle.
Since I have postponed my Charity till summer, I am working hard on getting some bigger inventory for it, and planning on getting every month two sets of CIs. *nods* One for me, one for Charity. Means I won't probably be buying many things besides them, too, but thats a common thing. I hope to not want too many things on the Events so I can keep the gold saved this far for them. ^^; Anyhows, I wish you luck with this questing and I hope you can achieve quite a few more items in these nearly 2 weeks. ^^ With your speed, you could get quite a bit. O: |
Wishing you the best of luck, Wolfie. It's not easy questing for duplicates of everything.
|
*feeds Wolfie some freshly baked pancakes*
Do you want some too, Quest Queenie? o: |
Alright! Finally got my darn games done on my mule!
|
Woooh, Wolfieee! <3
