samurai pizza cats
 

has anyone else heard of this anime? i remember watching it when i was like 6 years old. i don't remember much, but i remember i liked it. someday, i'm going to have to look it up, cuz i really want to watch it again.

I've heard of it, but I remember diddly squat about it. All I know that it's an old one. :sweat:

I remember this anime slightly. There were two verisons of it. The Japanese dub/Japanese script verison and the American dub/American script verison.
The main difference was the dialogue and the script. The Japanese one was more aimed at a Japanese audience, and the American one was more aimed at an American audience.

Like for example, the first Japanese episode of the Pizza Cats was a bit different different in the script and dialouge then the American first episode. I don't think it is even called Samurai Pizza Cats in Japan. I think it was either called Cat Ninja Legend Teyandee or Surprising Group Ninja Legend Teyandee (Japanese name: Kyattō Ninden Teyandee [キャッ党 忍伝 てやんでえ]).

But other then that, I will not say they were not loyal to the series, because someone forgot to send them to script for the animation if I remember right. So anyways, Samurai Pizza Cats was an awesome anime for its time. :D!

I forget who my favorite character(s) were though. :(

i actually don't remember anything about the story or any of the characters. all i really remember was the girl cat's name in the American version was Polly and in one episode she broke a tea cup in her hand.

@BinkaKitty: Oh, I barely remember the episodes, but I do remember the villain and how funny he was. XD!

The best place to look it up is on either wikipedia or youtube.

I went to Wikipedia to double check my information on The Samurai Pizza Cats. :) Youtube only has a few episodes of the Japanese or the American one I think.

Hm... I hope they release the whole American series on DVD someday. :)

i think you can find it if you do the yahoo shopping search, but there are only like 3 search results. i haven't checked the google search yet.

I found half of the series on Amazon, but I want an offical release by a company I know and trust. Like Funimaiton for example. Maybe their license will expire in a couple years and someone will pick it up then. :)

I heard the problem of the anime not coming out was that the dub track is owned by some company and the animation is owned by another and they can't agree on who gets the full thing to put it on DVD...

Oh... that's the case. Hm... they need to agree some day or just drop the license/contract. Then it is free domain after some years. I found a DVD box set on Amazon, but I want an offical copy though. :o!

I only saw one episode of this at a friends house years ago I think.. I was visiting her in another town so the station was one that I didn't have at home or the schedule was different. Can't really recall much about it though I'm sure it was funny.
