Fang was still crying. "I don't want to see you and dad fight. I want us to be a pack."

Dresdus arrived and heard what Fang had said. "I'm sorry Fang. We didn't mean to upset you. We all love you, and are not going anywhere" He gave Fang a reasuring lick between the ears.

Frost nodded in agreement with Dresdus as she spoke softly to Fang. "Just because we don't see eye to eye doesn't mean we don't love you or one another. It just means we are normal. Every pack doesn't always get along or see eye to eye. You want always like every thing Snow does just as she want like every thing you do." She leaned down and nuzzled him as she looked at Dresdus. "It means we are a family. We do things for one another that the others may not understand but we do it out of love. That is what family does for one another. They keep your best interest at heart. Just like your father did...."

Dresdus leaned down to Fang. "Your mother is right Fang. There is no need to be worried. We shall always be a pack, always." Fang jumped up and licked Dresdus on the nose. "Ok, I understand" Fang said while happily wagging his tail. Suddenly, Bood back found themselves surrounded by coyotes.

Frost gently nuzzled fang then Dresdus as she looked down at Snow who nuzzled her gently. "Come on lets get back to the others. We all left without a word, it was quite rude of us."

Blood pack suddenly found themselves surrounded by coyotes. "Get behind me and your mother" Dresdus said to the pups. He let out growl.
"Be careful dad" Fang said.

Frost let out a growl as one moved closer to them. She laid her ears down against her head as she redyed herself to defend her pups and her mate. She let out a growl as she showed her fangs.

Snow huddled next to Fang as she stared unable to move or make a sound.

Dresdus lept at one of the coyotes, breaking its neck instantly. Another coyote jumped on Dresduses back.
Fang took Snow to hide behined a tree.

Frost slammed into the other coyote on Dresduse back sending flying. She quickly moved and broke its neck with one quick movement. She moved in front of the tree where her pups where as one of the other coyotes confronted her growling.

Dresdus pounced on the coyote near the pups and Frost, snapping its spine. He attacked another coyote, tearing out it's throat.

Frost kept her stance as she looked about making sure there were no more left.

A coyote appeard behind Dresdus, but he did not see it. "Dad watch out!" Fang yelled. Fang charged at the coyote. "Fang stop!" Dresdus yelled, but the coyote already had Fang by the scruff in it's jaws.

Frost let out a growl as she lunged at the coyote. She meet its neck with her fangs as she ripped into its flesh making it drop Fang from the pain. In one quick movement she snapped it's neck letting the corups hit the ground as she ran to Fang licking him trying to see if her pup was ok. "Fang....Fang are you ok?" She nuzzled him gently worried about her pup. Snow kept in her hiding place quite not wanting anything to happen to her like had just happen to her brother. She wanted to run and check on her brother but she was scared she would end up the same.

Fang barely opened his eyes. "I don't feel good. My body hurts" he let out with a whimper.
"We have to get him back to the den" Dresdus said. He picked up Fang by the scruff and ran towards the den as fast as he could.

Frost ran to where Snow was she quickly picked her up by her scruff then ran after Dresdus and Fang. She took the higher rout so she could keep a eye on Dresdus making sure nothing stopped them from making it to the den. When they had all made it safely to the den she gently placed Snow down as she ran to Fang.

Snow joined her mother as she looked at her brother. "Fang....are you ok brother?" Her voice was light and shook as she spoke. She was afraid of the answer as she looked up at her father then to her mother.

Fang let out a cough. "I feel sick and it hursts to breath."
Dresdus bent down and sniffed Fang. "He has broken ribs, and his wounds are infected. I need to go out and get some herbs that will cure him. Frost, Snow, stay here and watch him." Dresdus ran out into the woods.

Frost laid down next to Fang as she licked his wounds gently trying to reassure him he was fine. She gently nuzzled him being careful not to move him to much.

Fang coughed. "I'm sorry mom, I just wanted to be a hero like you and dad."
Dresdus found the herbs, and raced back to the den. "Here Fang, eat these quickly." Fang ate the herbs.

Frost gently nuzzled fang as she shook her head. "In time you will be. But you need to get bigger and learn to use that brain of yours too son." She smiled at him as she licked him gently.

"He needs to rest. We will know by morning if he is better." Dresdus licked Fang goodnight.

Frost laid her head next to Fangs as she laid next to her pup. She didn't move or make a sound as she laid there lessioning to him the whole night. The only thing she could do was think what if she lost him. Her mind then wandered back to Dresdus. She knew he had done everything he could do for Fang, but she knew if anything happen to him he would blame himself.


Snow sat at the entry of the den while her parents kept a eye on fang. She couldn't stand the sight of her brother like that or her parents. After a while Snow walked outside. She loved how the snow felt on her paws though nothing could really make her happy tonight. She kept close to the den making sure she could still run to it if she needed to. Snow had been sitting in her favorite spot when she saw something. As the figure moved closer she saw it was another wolf pup. He was solid black and he had a strange smell. Snow froze not knowing if he was going to be a friend or foe. He didn't have any others with him witch she thought was strange he was about her age not old enough to be on his own yet.

Dresdus woke up early the next morning, and instantly went to check on Fang. Fang wasn't breathing. Dresdus kept nudgeing him, but Fang wouldn't move. Dresdus let out a loud howl of sorrow.

Frost stared at Fang as tears ran down her muzzle. She didn't move she stared at Fang as she cried.

Snow turned as she heard her father she forgot about the other pup and ran back to the den. She entered and looked at her father then her mother then to Fang. She ran to Fang and nugged him. "Come on brother you can't do this...what about Rose? What about mama and papa? What about me who is going to keep the owls from me?" She cried as she fell to the floor beside him.

Dresdus picked up Fang, then carried his body outside. He buried him under some rocks, by a white oak tree. Dresdus stood there awhile, not moving. "It's all my fault" he thought to himself. For the first time in years, tears rolled down his muzzle. Dresdus started to walk away, when suddenly, he heard a noise in the bushes. It sounded like crying. Dresdus went over to investigate, and found something unexpected. A mountain lion cub.

Frost gently nuzzled Snow as she moved to her feet. "Come on lets go find Dresdus." Frost walked up behind Dresdus as she moved closer to him. "Dresdus....it wasn't your f-faul..." She stopped as she saw the lion cub. She looked from it to Dresdus then to see where it's mother was.

Dresdus bent down to the cub. "Excuse me, do you have a name?" The cub looked up at Dresdus. "My name is Blade." "Where is your mother?." "Mom was killed by humans, and my brothers and sisters were tkilled by coyotes, I'm all alone" Blade continued to cry.
