No worries then. Good night, and I'll chat to you tomorrow.

The Roze 09-06-2010 06:09 AM

*yawn*
Me is sleepy!
But Mirani, assuming you read this today, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! :)

Urchie 09-06-2010 07:31 PM

Anyone alive here?

The Roze 09-06-2010 07:32 PM

Mirani's not going on cuz it's her birthday and she's busy opening presents and eating cake ^^

Magician Girl Mirani 09-06-2010 07:35 PM

Hello!!!!!!! I'm back!!!!!

The Roze 09-06-2010 07:37 PM

Yayyyy!!! How ya enjoying your birthday?
I'm doing my music listening homework - gotta listen to Classic fm for an hour. Unfortunately they're playing the full version of Ravel's Piano Concerto in G major, which is very long so there's only so many concepts I can write down :(

Magician Girl Mirani 09-06-2010 07:39 PM

It's good so far -grins- My gran's cake is brilliant as ever! I'll be sure to bring some in tomorrow for you guys to try!
I'm lovin' what I've gotten so far! -cheers- This has been an excelent birthday!
And ouch...unlucky there. Good luck with the music homework.

The Roze 09-06-2010 07:41 PM

It's not so bad. I've managed to get 30 concepts so far, I just hope they change the piece soon. Although they're playing every single movement, and it only started around 20 minutes ago so I'm not sure.
What kind of cake did you get?

Urchie 09-06-2010 07:42 PM

Hey MG. Hows your birthday been?

The Roze 09-06-2010 07:44 PM

Anyone know Ravel's dates?

Magician Girl Mirani 09-06-2010 07:46 PM

To answer your question Roze the cake is a Victoria Sponge!
And yes Urchie it's been a VERY good Birthday!
Um...sorry Roze but I dunno.

The Roze 09-06-2010 07:47 PM

Yum I love Victoria Sponge.
I'll just look Ravel up on Wikipedia. Yay, they've changed the piece!

Magician Girl Mirani 09-06-2010 07:48 PM

It's great! I know you'll like it! My Gran does the BEST cakes!!!!!
That's good, what piece is it now?

Urchie 09-06-2010 07:52 PM

Heh...cool.
Back shortly-I need a bath!

The Roze 09-06-2010 07:56 PM

I don't know, I'm gonna have to wait till the end to find out. But I think it's a symphony for full orchestra... sounds like G major again to me

Magician Girl Mirani 09-06-2010 08:04 PM

Oh well, how much longer have you gotta listen to it? And at least it's the kind of homework where you can also do something else right? I mean you're on mene while listening to it so that's good right?

The Roze 09-06-2010 08:06 PM

Yeah, that's good. I think I might stop soon. She did say an hour, but it's not like she'll know. Anyway, this kind of homework is more directed at those who don't know much about classical music at all. I forgot to do it last week and she didn't even care

Urchie 09-06-2010 08:09 PM

(Blinks owlishly) reading this...almost makes me glad I didn't study music past year 9!

Magician Girl Mirani 09-06-2010 08:14 PM

True I guess. I really need to practice my piano more often but I can't when there's a key missing from my keyboard and I still can't find it...and I think some of the other keys might not be that far behind. I've got my grade 3 exam in November and I can't even practice at home! -slams head again'st desk in frustration- It's so annoying! I've looked everywhere and I can't find it!

Oh and what do you two think of my avi? I still need the staff but I think it looks pretty good!

The Roze 09-06-2010 08:14 PM

What's Year 9?
I love music. It's my favourite subject ^^
Although I have just torn my headphones out of the computer and violently exited the classic fm window. I am finished with this homework. I didn't manage an hour, but I did about 45 minutes. That'll do. And I managed to scribble all over an A4 sheet of paper so it's all good ^.^

BTW Mirani, love the new avi!

I've got my grade 7 in may. I have to practise lots already, but at least I get to play Squire and Vivaldi. As you go along the grades, the music gets better and better.
And school orchestra is playing the Radetzky March. I was delighted until i discovered that due to all the new first years, we were at less than half the normal speed. No fun at all

Urchie 09-06-2010 08:19 PM

Year 9 is my 3rd year in secondary school Not sure how the scottish school system works, so you'll probably call it something different. And fair enough. I simply enjoy listening to my music, though I couldn't play ANY of it to save my life. Not sure what you're on about in that last bit, so I'll just smile and nod at that (Assumes imitation Son Pose (TM))

Also, new Avi outfit looks cool MG.

----------

Any Idea what kind of staff you're looking for?

The Roze 09-06-2010 08:23 PM

We call the 3rd year in secondary school S3 ^^
I've always loved playing music since I was really really really really little. I wanted to play the violin, but then in P5 when the strings tutor came along with all the instruments I decided that the cello looked cooler
Orchestra today was a bit annoying. It's the start of term so there's lots of new people who can't tell the difference between a rest and a note and kept playing off beat notes on the beat. Rather annoying >_<

Urchie 09-06-2010 08:27 PM

(Winces) Yeah...that sounds like a head ache. Sounds a bit like my martial arts class. We get ahead, but when new people move up into our class, we end up moving back to basics in some stuff, so we end up a little behind. There's some stuff we haven't done in a while because we keep getting new people who don't what's happening.
It can be a little irritating sometimes!

Magician Girl Mirani 09-06-2010 08:28 PM

Ouch...hopefully after a while it'll settle down and you can play better. I'm looking forward to hearing it!
How was SEEK btw Roze?

The Roze 09-06-2010 08:29 PM

I guess it happens with a lot of things.
I try to be considerate and remember that I was once a first year, but casting modesty aside, I was moved up to the front row in first year ^^
And I wanted to play the Radetzky March up to speed!!! :squee: It sounds terrible if you don't
What kind of martial arts do you do?

Edit:
Mirani, SEEK was awesome ^^ We got some Vivaldi to play, as well as Ode to joy in which I get a whole page of constant triplets, so it is in no way boring. And a new arrangement of Pachelbel's canon, which got me excited until I realised my part was exactly the same as in the old arrangement, just not as long
