I bought a ton of the Edo Catcher items in the marketplace. It's much easier than actually playing the catchers, since lots of people get frustrated and try to sell off their doubles as quickly as possible. Hooray for throwing stars!!!

Snowberry 07-27-2010 09:16 PM

Knerd~ I'm going to do some scouting in the mp as well. :ninja:

CK~ Don't cry. ;-; Don't forget 200 ribbons for perfect attendance this month. Since, I just started I'm still trying to build a wardrobe so I bleed through ribbons like there is no tomorrow. >o> I manage to get by though.

If you don't want anything from the Moroccan, lovely girl events. Nothing from the maxi long dress, bag & shoe, devilish girl, rainy, and daily accessories catchers. You have a whole month to get ribbons! >3 If you have 20 minutes, leave 20 comments for 40 ribbons. That's 1200 ribbons alone from making comments in a month. Throw in the login, search stamp, snapshot, and dressup bonus. You could definitely get everything that you want, ribbon wise. :p The only tight spot would be that the fairy event and catcher end on the 2nd of Sept.

I has a question! I can't explain it, but I'm drawn to the dancer obi from the catcher, here. I'm trying to be careful and not just buy whatever is pretty, I've been taking into account how versatile an item is. It could be a statement piece maybe? There are a lot of colors. Do you think it's restricted to a yukata/kimono. I still can't decide whether or not to add it to my list of things to buy. Halp plz?

CK 07-27-2010 11:53 PM

That's true, Snow (and Knerd xD) . xD I may just spam the items of people I know with icon-comments every day instead of struggling to find something to say about strangers' uploads. >_>;

Ahhh... the oiran obi. lol. It looks awesome. Did you try the "MAC/DAC" for Poupee? I still manage to use regular obis in daily wear by matching one with a wide shirt or dress (or throwing a cardigan/scarf over it to hide the gap with a more slim-fitting top). With the way the bows works, you probably wouldn't be able to tell about any gaps...

I know I want it, just like I want everything in the sets, even if I might only wear it once a year. lol. xD But if you're unlikely to download the avatar creator, if you're willing to try it with casual outfits I doubt it's only going to look right with a kimono. xD

Snowberry 07-28-2010 12:35 AM

I do have the dac on my comp and I tried it on. X'D It's just that everything I pick will be used often. (trying to be a smart poupee shopper so I can have a ribbon stash)

..I'm just going to buy it. I deserve a splurge item! D;< It really helped that the obi can be used with everyday wear. o3o Thanks CK!

jellysundae 07-28-2010 01:58 AM

Hmm, and there was me thinking that that first image that Snow posted reminded me a lot of an ACer after they'd fallen head first into their inventory xD It's WAY overloaded

Sizzla 07-28-2010 02:31 AM

I think the Edo items are just super detailed and colorful, and when you mix prints with more prints, it tends to look like too much.

Commenting 20 times is taking FOREVERRRRR. T_T I hate commenting. I usually emote spam. XP

Snowberry 07-28-2010 03:39 AM

I emote spam. >o> Especially, if I'm tired and want to go to bed. I leave one word responses, too. XD Sentences happen once in awhile.

Bippy 07-28-2010 03:56 AM

I normally emote spam, though I try to leave short messages if it's an item I really really like.

CK 07-28-2010 05:50 AM

Sizzla - The way I go about it is I find four people a day and leave five comments for each of them. Then someone gets a nice bunch of ribbons all at once and I don't have to keep track of how many comments I've made. xD

Knerd 07-28-2010 11:42 PM

I've found that the easiest way to get ribbons is to join a LiveJournal Comment Club. If you post a link to one of your items, 20 other users will post links to their's. Everyone then goes down the line and leaves a comment. So not only do you get 40 ribbons from doing your own comments, but you get 40 more from receiving their comments too.

CK 07-29-2010 12:54 AM

Sounds like a plan. xD though I'll still spam my friends with five from time to time when I'm feeling especially lazy. >_< Like at the moment, I'd be more likely to spam than comment club. But I've got another 12 hours or so to use up today's comments so I'll wait until my energy comes back >_>

Kiari 07-29-2010 02:18 AM

I think i will have to pop over to this site and check it out. <3

Edit: can someone give me a link to it, i couldn't find it by googling.

CK 07-29-2010 04:24 AM

Here you go:
Chella???? | ??????????????????????????

That actually links directly to my profile, so you can say 'hello' if you wanted.

If you wanted to start off with a little bonus (a extra teeshirt and some ribbons), ask someone with an account to invite you. Just send them a PM with your email address and they can send you an invite. ;)

Angel Spirit Girl 07-29-2010 01:33 PM

I'm not on livejournal, so I am confused about comment clubs.

Snowberry 07-29-2010 06:29 PM

Knerd explained it on the previous page.

I was thinking that I could muck around in someone's closet for the day and max out on ribbons from commenting on different items. :3 A little extra help with earning ribbons. However, I know some people don't like emote spam or short responses. I can't promise sentences. o,o So if that bothers you let me know and I won't comment. Feel free to add me, here.

If anyone happens to have the crane wallpaper or see someone using it, could you post it here please? I tried it in the dac, but the preview is too small. I want to see the entire room. Depending on how it looks, I might go after that starry wallpaper instead. Seems like a large price drop for the starry background in the mp. *o*

CK 07-29-2010 10:02 PM

Poupee Girl Comment Clubs! <--- This is the Comment Club I know of. Finally, just-now, found an open comment club. :B When I went last night, they were all full. D:

Angel Spirit Girl 07-30-2010 01:11 PM

I guess you have to have a livejournal account to post/join a comment club?

Let me know if you want to see the starry background equipped. I have it.

Lolita Sweetness 07-30-2010 02:45 PM

Poupee girl? I played poupee girl. It was very fun, and luckily i could understand japanese since im Japanese XD. It was so fun~!

Snowberry 07-30-2010 10:26 PM

Lolita~ It is fun! A challenge at times because Katherine insists on being difficult. = 3= But, I still love it. More items are in the macaroon floor!

Angel~ I've seen it and loved it. :3 On the dac it looked nice, but I really couldn't appreciate it until I saw the wallpaper in someone's room. Which Angel are you? So I can add ya.

Poo...managed to get the half lidded look...but I forgot the eyeshadow and I just looked ...high as a kite. I had to save it again and lost it. ;o; I didn't like the look without shadow.

EDIT: I just found the starry wallpaper for 200/581! I couldn't ignore that price. OoO I still wanna see the crane wallpaper, but I'm content. :squee: I has a pretty wallpaper instead of putrid pink!

CK 07-31-2010 12:37 AM

A poupee fairy visited me today! Thankyou Snow!

Between your visit, yesterday's comment club (yes, I think you need a LJ account to use it. Though it might work with one of those odd universal accounts?), and the 200 ribbon every-day-login bonus I managed to get most of the items in the store that I wanted from the yukata update. :3 Everything I want is 80 ribbons and under, so I'll be able to get everything within a few days. :3

I can afford to wait for the catchers awhile yet. Give more people time to play them and sell off the items they don't want. xD So maybe I can buy them cheaper than playing the catcher myself. >_> (It'll make it difficult to get the ones that don't show up often, though.)

Snowberry 07-31-2010 01:08 AM

CK~ Your welcome! ^^ True, but I think it may save you ribbons in the long run. It might end up costing more ribbons, plus frustration playing the catcher to get the expensive items. Although, if you want everything than it's okay...but then you can get tons of duplicates, too. *ramble* Waiting and watching the market is your best bet. :3

I bought the oiran sash today. It doesn't really work with regular clothes. But!! I tried it on with the new dresses on the macaroon floor and it looks cute. I think whatever you wear needs to have a bit of volume for it to work. :3 I only need 2...possibly a 3rd(red ball) from the catcher and I'm done. I'm going to wait and work on the event shops. The headband and kunai leg strap/pouch/whatchamacallit might go down a little in price during the month of August...hopefully.

Angel Spirit Girl 07-31-2010 01:24 PM

I'm Angel Girl over on Poupee, Snowflower. ^^ Feel free to add me.

jellysundae 08-02-2010 04:40 AM

I don't approve of comment clubs >< I want people to comment on my items because they genuinely like them. So yeah, don't like comment clubs at all, lol.

Bippy 08-02-2010 07:55 AM

I understand the appeal of comment clubs, but I gotta agree with Jelly. I want people to comment on my stuff because they like something about it, not merely for ribbons.

jellysundae 08-02-2010 01:00 PM

I had a visit from the ribbon fairy, too! Thanks Snowie! :3
