I had been saving my shells for months so I used most of them and got probably all of the ribbons and the pudding. <3

I have to stock up on shells for the Tanbata items in July now.

I haven't been on Poupeegirl in so long. I don't think I've been on there for nearly a year or maybe even longer. Things have changed and gotten more complex. I'm not going to bother but I still think it's ultra cute.

How does one pronounce "poupee"? Each time I see someone post in here my mind says "Poopy girl" XD

I've always pronounced it poo-PAY. But yeah... still a lot like poopy. It's a real word, though. French. I think it means doll. So you could look it up.

EDIT: According to google translate, it sounds mostly like poopy. [rofl] I'm gonna keep on saying poo-pay. [ninja]

Probably something similar to poppet then. Might have a similar root.

I'm pretty sure it does. And the same root as Puppet, too.

It's French for Doll. So, with a French accent, I thought it was pronounced poo-pay.

Can anyone tell me what is up with poupee girl lately? They seem to be ending new items and donation currency at the end of this month, but they say they will continue to have things to do there.

Who knows? It makes no kind of sense from a financial point of view. I'm just waiting to see at the moment, and keeping an eye on the LJ community to see if they find anything out.

I read a post from August 11th that we may have to sign up for one of the Japanese sites in order to get jewels starting next month. I am still confused. Are they just changing how you can get jewels? Ugh! I wish I had another month to gather money for jewels -- and knew if Poupee Girl was closing or not.

At least everyone's just as much in the dark [ninja]

It looks like they are just going to let it wither. Too bad. It was nice while it lasted.

I'm very interested to see what plans they have for the future. They need some kind of way to monetize the site, so they surely have some [ninja]

If they have no monetizaion method for the future, then they have no plans for the future. I have no idea if or when they will monetize. I wonder what is up.

Any news on Poupee? Is it dead?

I still see people dressing their poupees and posting clothes photos, but it looks like there are no updates other than some recolors for ribbons they had at the end of summer. That and you get your pick of event backgrounds in the Going Out feature. It looks like they are letting it shrivel away after all.

That's very sad, it was such a cute site.

So this site is no longer in existence? I had wanted to join because it was pretty looking.

It still exists, but I don't think they are allowing new people to sign up.

They are letting it die it seems, and will probably delete it when it is small enough.

It is a shame. It is a nice site.

I'm one of those hangers on who rattle around on poupee girl still even after the admins halted item updates and donations.

I save an outfit every day, and have even added a couple of pictures as usual.

It was a unique site and I'll miss having a place to post clothes.

I was absolutely hooked on the site for such a long time! I only stopped visiting it once the Dress Up page kept failing to load for me, then they halted item releases. I could have easily continued playing if they were able to keep up with site maintenance. [cry]

So I'm a little sad, too. I haven't been on there in quite a while now, but I still have a lot of poupee images saved on my computer and I'm looking back at them longingly.
