Almost all my costume designs are long and flowing, especially for him. What would fit an Elven king more? XD I can't wait to get my grubby little paws on that silk, but I gotta decide on what the other fabrics will be. White, yes... But clueless for the rest and what type of white fabric. Will dig through the store when I get there to pick them out.

Agreed about Volks, though I have seen some lovely general-edition ones... Not many. Like ya'll said, the best ones tend to be their limiteds.

A Volks Store in Chicago would be the best for me. ^^ However, I'm hoping to make a trip to Cali before long and a trip to the one in LA is a must for my plans there. I'm not a super fan of any store in particular, though DIM is close to being a fav.

I actually like a lot of Chinese and Japanese sculpts. Right now I really want a Resinsoul Gang. I was praying to find a doll that looked like one of my characters, but was about to give up hope b/c they all seemed too girly for this character. Finally I stumbled upon Resinsoul and was near estatic. But Korean sculpts are fab, too. I have a beatiful Luts head at home. :)

Oh he's an Elven King? I bet he'll look amazing in what you have planned. Does he have a crown? i bet it would be fun to make one out of jewelry wire and maybe some beads. ^^

Yep! I have many different sketches of various crowns, but this outfit is just a simple one with a long flowing vest of silk (broken sewing machine and laziness)... It'll just be a crown of flowers with vines climbing down his hair, though part of the flowers and the leaves will be beaded and some random dangly beads and dainty chains. His jewelry will have to wait a little longer than his clothes due to that area being blocked off by a rather large mess.

His formal crowns... I need to get precious metal clay to do those. X)

Doll-Zone is a chinese company and I am a sucker for most of their sculpts. Hell, I am a sucker for most semi-closed eyed molds. XP

They're having a precious metal clay class at the art gallery down my street - not that you can go, since you're probably not even in the same state as me, but your mentioning that makes me want to take it.

Doll-Zone is lovely...except I don't like their babies or that Cosmo guy. have you seen their new hands???? **drools**

Agreed! I like the boys with more of the delicate features, like the Floy or the Chen. *drools*

One thing I don't like about Doll-Zone is the mold for the female bodies. I absolutely love the Celine head, but I hate the DZ female bodies! The chest just seems too high up and the body itself... Just straight for the most part instead of curvy.

Man, you are lucky! We don't get anything like that around here! We only get the Fall Foliage Festival in the middle of October or the Extravangaza in in the middle of July to even remotely be able to talk about things like clay and whatnot with artists and crafters. Sometimes, at Rennaissance Faires, too, but no classes. *Jealous**Jealous*

Only DZ girl I like is that halloween one from a few months back. She was pretty. That was about it. Granted I'm not a fan of girl anything >w>

I wasn't a fan of that Halloween one... I am quite picky about my females, more so than the male dolls. I think the Celine mold is quite pretty and would fit the character of Arnorr's sister well.

How do you feel about the Luts event head? I don't care for it. (But their SSD Dew doll is lovely! )

I did a very quick sketch of Arnorr's new costume plan, but something is a bit off about the design for the sleeves. What do you think I should do? (Forgive cruddiness, had to take a picture of the five second sketch with the camera. >.< )

OwO Really can't see the lines...but maybe a bit to flowy? or not enough. Iunno.

Sorry, I tried to lighten the image up as best as I could and it doesn't help that I draw lightly. >.<; The sleeves are bell sleeves with trim and an armband mimicking the vines and roses.

The vest, which is on the outside of the woven-like fabric belt, will actually be under it, so to show the form more. It just seems the sleeves are missing something.

Edit: Forgot to mention that the sheer cape over top doesn't help make the lines easier to read. It drapes across the chest. Not really distinguishable in the first hand sketch, either. XD

I see the problem, it shouldn't do the peasent bell at the end. Try drawing it come to a point at the end on his hand. Have a more manlier feel to it.
