Derrick smiled and sat down, tasting the water first before giving it to Evie. He nodded. "Better?" He petted Jade as she came back up from rubbing against their legs. He rummaged through the bag and set one of the bowls on the chair for her, pouring the water into it and watching as she lapped it up and sat next to it. "It's amazing what jealousy does. They were in there laughing and talking about us. I kinda tricked her, though, I'll admit." He sniffed and stroked Evie's hand with his thumb.

He spooned some of his food onto the paper plate the waitress provided, setting it beside Jade as she backed up, allowing him to set it down. He watched as the cat scarfed half of it down before mewling and diving for the water. He laughed, petting her head. "Slow down, Jadey." He grabbed a fork and ate some of it, stealing a piece off of Evie's plate and smiling, eating half of it and putting the other half on Jade's plate, smiling as she gulfed it down happily with her little kitty mouth. "Derrick.. I must say. For spicy food this is an excellent selection. I like it, actually." Derrick laughed at her random outburst and Noey continued to eat.

[[Sorry I haven't been on much this weekend. I dragged Derrick around with me to my soccer games so he's asleep at the moment. What a fat cow.]]


Rain flopped over on her bed. She was irritated and sad at the same time at Akemi. He obviously was still pretty beat up about everything and she couldn't handle it. Laying back and making her comfortable, she pushed against his mind barrier. Akemi... Come on.. talk to me! Why. You don't understand me. Akemi pushed her out and locked himself away again. Rain sighed and pulled back, only to push through harder and break through once again. Akemi was caught off guard and tried to pull away with no use. Rain explored his mind and thoughts, finding everything. He.. Loves me? Rain, wait. Rain pulled away, not knowing how to feel. She locked him out now, hearing him try to get back to her. Rain! Wait.. Let me.. She shut him out completely, and sat up in her bed, holding herself and crying soundlessly. "What now..." She cried softly to herself.

Derrick stood up. "No, you won't, because we're leaving." He shifted his pen to the side of his pocket, leaning his glasses on it. He grabbed Jade and pushed her into Evie's arms, picking up her water bowl and threw it in the bags and pushing them on his wrist, grabbing the plate and the roach, taking them to the kitchen. "Escuse me, miss.. But this roach appeared on my plate. Seeing as this has been the third time today, I'll take this as a free meal and will not be paying tonight. We will go eat anywhere else but here, and you will not get our business again." He dropped one of the bags and a couple of his hundred dollar bills slid out of his shirt pocket as he bent to pick the bag up. He swiped both up quickly and set the plate on the table, turning around.

"What you mean you don't pay?" The entire kitchen eyed the hundreds as Derrick picked everything up. "We can redo meal for you," another woman said, pushing the girl out the way and smiled. Derrick smiled to himself in his mind - they were taking the bait, and the girl would most likely be punished for losing a wealthy customer. "No, really. I've had enough of this messing up, and me and my girlfriend can take no more of this. Goodbye, and have a nice day." He smiled and went back to the table, hearing the people in the kitchen fussing at her in Chinese, obviously irritated. Derrick took Evie's hand and led her out of the store. Score one for Derrick! Don't mess with Evie's man. Derrick smiled and knew Evie would hear Noey.

Derrick laughed. "Oh, that's nothing. I learnt that trick growingup. I always keep at least two hundreds with me in situations like that, it serves them right. You wrap a couple hundreds around fives, tens and ones to make it look like you have big money. All people care about now is money, money, and more money, so when you come with a complaint and money, they get irritated at the son of a bitch who fucked up their perfect customer." He smiled, hearing Michi. "Yeah, Michi. She was really mean, she tried to steal Derrick!" Noey smiled and scratched Jade's head. Derrick let Noey take control since he'd promised that she could later on in the day, and he didn't want her cranky again. It was only fair seeing as he know he'd go crazy if she locked him up all day.

She was very stressed, after all, tears were not out of place here. And she was not about to make the girl feel ashamed for it by drawing attention to it. She chuckled at Sarah Jane's questions.

"When I was younger, perhaps. But there is far too much to be done on this planet, with the species already here. I couldn't dream of traveling elsewhere until I can do something for Earth. It is my life purpose. Anyways, I'm sure in the next life I will have plenty of opportunity to travel and see distant worlds. I'm content here."

She grew quiet and still as Sarah Jane mentioned their earlier spat and she felt herself grow warm around the ears with shame.

"Yes, well, no matter how off your assumptions might have been, it doesn't excuse my behavior at all, and for that I do apologize. It has been very stressful and I lashed out. That was not right of me. I wish there was hope for Malakani but...she...well, it's just very difficult to hope."

She sat in the awkward silence for a while, feeling Malakani shuffle about in her mind. The subject bored her and she had little to say. She didn't want to poke in to see what Malakani was thinking. She did that once and had nightmares for a week. She didn't have time to dwell, however, because Sarah Jane was speaking again, this time about authors and playwrights. Her stomach gave a little flipflop as she recognized the names. She had enjoyed their works and it was interesting to hear this young woman had met them face to face.

When she asked to speak to Malakani, her heart clenched painfully and she flinched, as if the idea itself had reared back and struck her. She could feel Malakani stir in her head, perking up at the prospect of having control. The sick pleasure that she was getting from it was making Vanessa even more wary of the idea.

'Oh, go on, love. I hardly had a chance to stretch my legs last time. You did so rudely shove me back in here, is that how you treat your Other? I think you should make it up to me.'

'You were going to attack that fae girl! Of course I shoved you back! You can't just...'

'Oh keep your panties on. I wasn't actually going to eat her. Her kind taste terrible anyways,' Malakani thought back, pressing a feeling of disgust onto Vanessa as if to emphasis her point.

Vanessa was not convinced.

"I-I don't think..." she began, but was hushed as Sarah Jane assured her. Well, she was tired. If she let Malakani take over, she could gather her strength again. Sarah Jane was here, and she could handle herself, and Malakani. It was the safest time. She was just about to agree when she heard a quiet knock on her door. Glancing curiously at it, she rose to her feet and crossed the room, opening the door a crack.

On the threshold was Azura, the young faery girl she had met earlier. She grimaced inwardly, remembering the thoughts Malakani had been having when the last spoke to her. Still, she was safe as long as Sarah Jane was around, so, smiling slightly, she opened the door for her.

"Azura! Please, come in," she invited, stepping aside for her.

Noey smiled. "Yup, Michi! You got it. I guess if I put my mind to it I could imagine his pen as a mini-sword. Now if only I had my bow.. Though Derrick would probably feel uncomfortable carrying around something like that. He'd probably break it," she smiled as Derrick snorted. Love you too, Noe. Who doesn't? Derrick laughed and watched Noey skip down the street with Michi. Don't do that.. You make me look extremely gay. But you are. Not THAT gay! Derrick snorted again and Noey stopped. Just for you, sire. She stuck her nose up innerly, earning a laugh from Derrick.

Noey smiled at the girl. "Wherever you want, Michi!" She smiled and then pouted. "Maybe we should put this stuff back at the haven so we don't have to carry a crapload." She grinned and pulled Michi along, Jade following them back to the haven.

Noey smiled and picked up Jade, catching up with Michi in four seconds. She laughed and let Michi win, though, smiling as she stood there. You humans actually let me have some fun. Isn't that cute? Hush it, Derrick. Derrick laughed as Noey pretended to be out of breath. He knew that elves didn't tire easily because of her bragging about her race the first few months they were together. Noey walked to Derrick's room and set their things down, grabbing the leash and putting it on a growling Jade. "I know you don't like leashes, little one, but you need to be on one so you don't get kidnapped." Jade sneezed and Noey smiled, petting her.
