Finishing her small adventure in the kitchen, she was happy to be cleaning her mess and tidying everything away as it was. When she was finished sanitizing each surface she had used, she made her way around the canteen to sit and enjoy her meal. Balancing a clean white porcelain pot in one hand, a small plate and saucer with a teacup hanging off her pinky in the other, she sought to find a harmonious spot. Each click of her boots weaved her between scattered tables and dozens of chairs until she settled at a spot in the center of the room.
With each bite came a sigh of relief. Each smooth swipe of her tongue across the roof of her mouth came with a twinge of ecstasy. The small sandwiches, neatly cut into small triangles--the crust removed and set aside later for the pigeons--were filled with cream cheese and cucumbers. Accompanying the simple but delicious treat was a personal pot of jasmine tea. Although the jasmine bloom gave her headaches, Tina continued to sip. It had been almost a year since her last headache, and she almost missed them. Wiping the remnants of her last bite, she glanced to the small plate to the lone triangle that was left, drawing the china cup back to her lips for a sip. She sat straight, her shoulders pulled back in a posture befitting a formal occasion. In the deserted canteen, Tina seemed almost sinister as she sipped from the cup. Setting the cup on the saucer for a moment to pour more from the pot, her mind began to wander again. It's been a year since I first arrived here at the Haven. Do you suppose I should make a garden for them? I don't know what they're going to do with a canteen. And chefs... Tina's lips curled in a smile as she drew the cup up, the strong aroma of jasmine steaming to her nostrils. Because it's a crime to not know what you're eating in a cafeteria. And a garden with a nice courtyard would be charming for those staying. I just have to bring it up with the elders and... In a brief moment, her eyes darkened, and in that brief grasp of time, the saucer tipped at her lips to the brink of spilling. Time was lost and her mind was suddenly swelling with everything that had occurred in the Haven to that point. Like gulp of water, so came her next task. With the last triangle of bread gone, and the last sip of tea smoothing away the refreshing cucumber from her mouth, she could feel a headache coming. And Tina smiled at that. --- With her hunger resolved, grass was now beneath her boots. She stood outside the Haven, eyeing the empty lot in the back. There was nothing behind the building, nothing but a pile of useless planks in the corner. Lifting her chin, she eyed the apartment building near the Haven, ears perked. Aside from always keeping herself busy, Tina happened to enjoy catching the notes of music she assumed came from one of the few tenants that lived nearby. |
[[has tina interacted with anyone?]]
|
[[Afraid not; I was mistaken to guide her in the direction I did, but hopefully the small addition will open it up for your other character.
If not, I can edit it.]] |
[[he was actually in the haven but ill edit the post ^^;; cause i like your idea :) ]]
Brandon Brandon sighed as he lounged on the small couch of his apartment. He was thinking of heading to the haven today but decided that a day at home might be nice. Yesterday was spent on a corner playing for a few people, more girls then guys gave him tips for obvious reasons. Playing a tune he'd heard on the radio a few days ago on his guitar Brandon hummed the tune as he let the pick go across the strings. Staring out the window he could see the Haven's backyard and the side of the building. |
There it is... Tina smiled, almost as if her thoughts had queued the music. Although the neighborhood was quiet, and few people lived near the Haven, Tina couldn't pick out a familiar tune from the handful of notes she would catch. Lowering her eyes, she stepped out further into the lot. It was a decent size, and although there were some burn patches of dead grass, it wasn't in bad shape. Just very plain.
Tugging at the collar of her sweater, the oversized cowl neck opening so that she could feel a breeze against her skin beneath, thankful the sun wasn't blazing that day. "Over there," she mumbled to herself in a conversation to no one in particular. She was imagining her directions to a landscaper, planning out the flowers she would plant. |
Brandon Brandon [aused his playing as he saw a read headed girl wandering the back lot of the haven and stood up sitting on the windowsill of the large window. It was a wide and think will that cause Brandon to buy the apartment, he loved the veiw and felt that it was perfect. He watched the girl as she walked and strummed a few notes along with her footsteps. |
Another curl had fallen loose from a pin in her hair, the multi-faceted hue of brilliant red falling just behind her ear. It was free for a few moments more, a hand drawing up to guide it back with a pin. She had wandered to the middle of the lot now, each step accompanied by the strum of guitar strings from above. Tina knew the boy was there, that he had moved closer to the window by how clearly she could hear the notes now.
Shielding her blue eyes from the sunlight by creating a temporary visor with her hand, she lifted her gaze to the nearby apartment building, the gleam of her silvery earrings catching the light in a reflective dance. Her eyes had to search only for a moment before she found him, gaze settled on the figure in the window. And without words, she gave a small wave of her hand in hello, a warm smile spread across her generous lips. "Rhododendrons, or apple blossoms?" She posed to him, now curious for a second opinion to the question that loomed in her head. |
Brandon Brandon waved black, he had no idea what she was asking him for, all he knew was that those were the names of flowers. "Um...not sure. Surprise me?" He let a smiled go across his face and turned back to his guitar, playing a few notes. |
Her gaze fell, the chime of an amused chuckle escaping her lips. She enjoyed his reply, but was also a bit disappointed. Letting her hands fall back to her sides, she peered about the lot again. Her boots did not click as she walked to the fenced edge of the property, kneeling at a patch of tall weeds.
"I'm thinking of making a nice garden here," She spoke up again, reaching out her hand, the tips of grass brushing gently across her palm. She couldn't name this plant, but recognized the familiar reed-like form it had. Tina could remember the time she was too eager to pull the plant from its roots, only to have her fingers cut up by the thin paper-like edges. Lifting her eyes to the fence, its wired criss-cross pattern befitting a prison. She was frowning now, giving a small tug on the ling of fence with a curved finger. "But I'm not sure how to design it," Tina continued a bit quieter, though she could still be heard from her perch near the fence. |
Brandon Brandon watched the woman, his fingers strumming again with her steps. "WEll im sure what you decide will look very beautiful" He said loud enough for her to hear. "So are you a haven visitor, or a Host?" He was curious, and thought curiosity killed the cat, he let it get the better of him. |
"I think that a charming open space would be best," she replied before adding "and practical." Her accent was easy, similar enough to the locals to give away that she was from the United Kingdom, but had a refined and gentle curve to it. Almost as if she were from an American film. Standing again, she made her way to the middle of the lot.
She would remove the fences, and use thick bushes instead to give the yard a more natural and organic flow. Perhaps a few trees in the corner and a nice large one in the middle. Tina could imagine picnics in the shade, or spars out in the sun as a nice break from the sometimes cramped gym. The grass would be green, lush and welcoming. The trees...the trees... Again came a tap to her chin, folding her arms over each other just below her bust. She just couldn't think of what species to use. At his question, she thought for a moment. He knew about the Haven, and she remembered seeing him at one point. Even with his familiarity of the situation, she was shy about answering and there was a noticeable rose on her cheeks aside from blush. "I live at the Haven, yes," she peered up into the window once more. |

Vanessa shut the door after permitting Azura inside. She glanced back at Sarah Jane sympathetically as tears rolled fresh down her face. It took her a moment, but she composed herself. Vanessa's suspicions were confirmed as she spoke about her Other.
'I want to speak to him,' piped Malakani suddenly. Her eagerness was surprising to Vanessa. 'You'll be watched. And if you start to do anything against what I've already forbidden, then I will take control. Or Sarah Jane will stop you. You must know this.' 'I know this. I just want to talk to him. Stop being such a worry wart.' Vanessa sighed, closing her eyes a moment. When she opened them again, she was looking at Sarah Jane, apprehensive. "Malakani wishes to speak to John. Will you still be able to....if the need arises....stop her, should she...do something?" Even as the words left her mouth, she hated the asking. She felt Malakani was her curse to bear alone. It shamed her to ask for help, in any sense. Still, she knew it was safer this way. |
Sarah Jane and John John took control before Sarah Jane could open her mouth to speak. He put his/her hand over his heart. "Nothing'll happen. I swear." He said softly. I'm sorry. Quiet, Sarah Jane. But, John, I'm sorry. Not now! Later! Sarah Jane sighed internally. It was such pain. Such fear. But it was too be left for now. She was feeling apprehensive about this. Even though she could heal up, regenerate and what-not, it didn't mean she couldn't die. If she died before she regenerated she'd be dead. And even though she was ready to trust Malakani, she wasn't sure if she could cope with it all. That's why I am coping for you. John said darkly. "Malakani, you wish to speak with me face to face? That'll be interesting." He said with a charming smile. |
Azura & Rose Azura looked at Sarah Jane when Vanessa asked the question. Her face didn't change as her eyes moved from Sarah Jane to Vanessa. Inwardly Azura was confused, she had entered at an inopportune time, Rose stayed in control and sat on the bed opposite Sarah Jane. Azura we only witnessed drama chillax. Rose... shush... I'm just watching, usually I say the wrong thing, at the wrong time, so it's just easier for you to control because you have no conscience. Rose chuckled on the inside though her facial expression hadn't changed at all. She was going to speak, but she decided it best if she just stayed silent right now. |
Brandon Brandon smiled and placed his guitar down, and moved his position so that one leg hung down from the window,a dn the other was bent, resting on the windowsill while he sat. "Whats the name of your Other?" He asked the woman seemed nice enough, no harm in pining for a few details. He watched the girls feet as she walked and pointed at the at the base of the fence, making vines worm their way through the chainlinks. Some flowers were blooming as the vines traveled up, stopping at the top of the fence. "Just to get you started." |
She was smiling at the vines, fingers stroking the petals of the blossoms gently before she drew back. Now in the middle of the lot again, she could see each corner, each blade of grass unobstructed. With the show of his ability, she was now reconsidering her plans for the lot, drawing her eyes away from for a moment. The sun irritated her eyes and she needed the shade of her body for a moment to recover.
Even as a child, the sun had always bothered her. She wasn't vampiric, and as far as Tina knew, she had no such supernatural phenomena in her past. Then again, she had never been interested in her own past, and did not delve deeper than the nuclear family she had. It was simply the red hair and [in her youth] a scattering of freckles across her face that made her sensitive. This is why she once more tugged at the collar of her sweater, letting the cool air seep across her skin. Although it was in the cooler months of London, she had only just returned from a cooler destination. And she knew, that with each second she did not answer his question, she appeared guilty or shameful. Secretive and uninviting. And, while these were traits she did not want to portray, she replied to his question, "My name is Tina." Naomi did not interact much with others, and was content to reside within Tina as a sort of conscious. Even now the doctor was listening, but not acting out. Unlike the other tenants of the Haven, Christina's Other was seen and heard from infrequently. In fact, it was rare to have Tina talk about her Other. Thus she seemed a bit uncomfortable at the question, finally raising her gaze to him again. "Do you work....?" Pausing for a moment, she waited for him to fill in his name, ready with what sounded like a proposition. |
Brandon "Brandon" He said with a smiled. "And i play music around the city for a living." He pointed to his guitar that was leaning against the side of the window. "I live off the tips and sometimes play a few bars and clubs, but thats about it" Sighing and unbending his leg to let both hang over the edge of the window he leaned foward with his elbows on his thighs and his chin resting on his hands. "What about you Miss Tina?" |
"Ah, I thought I recognized you. I've seen you play about town sometimes. Do you enjoy it?" Folding her arms back beneath her bust, she adjusted her feet, feeling the grass slowly sink beneath her boots. Watching him adjust, her brows lifted in surprise and worry. She could catch him if he fell out, but through such means she hoped not to use. In retrospect, she thought that if she were in his position, she'd be doing the same thing and wouldn't think anything of safety.
"I suppose you would consider it entrepreneurship. Various things like consulting, groundskeeping, and painting windows," she laughed at the last mention. Tina had a bubbly laugh, boisterous and confident in her own amusement. She had no profession, and made enough money to enjoy some pleasures; expensive tea, trips to the zoo, new boots. Her true true talent was in the connections she could make. At the youthful age of 20, she was remarkable with business and economics, no matter how foreign. She had a strange knack of appealing to the needs of clients. "But my real inquiry is if you'd like to help me with this new project. I want this to be a nice open park. A way for people and their Others to relax outside," she was now gazing to the pile of wood, "Not as elaborate as the garden on the roof, but something refreshing." |
Brandon Brandon chuckled with her when he heard her laugh and lickied his legs a bit as they dangeled. "I love music honestly, and I have bigger dreams, but for now just making people happy and getting a few handouts is fine with me." With a smiiled he listened to her as she emplained her "jobs". "Well, if i ever want my window painted i'll know who to call." Brandon pondered about the question and chewed his lip a bit in thought. "Well i guess i could help out..." Turing back to his aparentment Brandon wandered into his coat closet grabbing this ropeladder and going back to the window. Placing the hooks on the loops he screwed into the wall a few days after he moved in, he tossed the rope ladder out the window, watching it fall and unravel to the street. Brandon descended the ladder with ease, with a few months of practice, he perfered this to the stairs. Landing at the bottom he crossed the street and easily climbed the fence dropping down from the top with a huff. After straightening his clothes out he looked up and smiled. "So whatchya need help with?" |
Tina watched him vanish from the window into the darkness of his apartment. For a moment, she thought he might have left the conversation entirely until he appeared once more. She was curious now, watching a ladder drop down out of the window. What is he doing?
Once he made his way down and wandered over, she was smiling. Her hand drew out before her to greet him, and blue eyes met his emerald green ones. Tina took in his complexion, his dark hair, his clothing, and his jawline... After the greeting, she turned her attention back to the lot. "I want to move the garbage, even out the grass, and I think that cherry trees would be lovely here instead. The spring will be beautiful with all the petals. If I were to buy the seedlings, or even a small tree, would you be able to help them grow?" Each idea was matter-of-fact, her hands gesturing to the fence that lined the property. "And if it's possible, I want to get rid of these fences, or at least, have high bushes instead. It will give it a more harmonious and organic feel." |
[[Well this is different. Rain's at my house instead of me being at hers. Feels weird. XD]]
Rain smiled at Michi. "Those are cute animals, Michi. Are you going to name them?" She smiled and looked at Michi, waiting for an answer. Tell her she should name one of them 'Raito.' The hell does that mean? Light. Rain shook her head and looked back at Michi and Derrick. Derrick smiled just as the drinks arrived. "The chocolate milk for the lady over there, a water for the man and for the other lady a Coke.. Is that right?" The waitress asked, looking at them. "Yes, that's right. By the way.. Can you give me an estimate of when the food will be coming out?" The waitress nodded. "In about five minutes." She walked away, tray in hand. Derrick turned back to the two. "My turn!" Noey rang, softly enough to where nobody would hear but the three. "It feels so much better now that I get out. It's better than having to stay locked up all day." Noey smiled at Derrick on the inside, hugging him and kissing his cheek. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Finally time I get to move. Derrick laughed. You're welcome, Noe. Just don't lock me in here. |
Evalign & Michaela Michi giggled as she got her milk chocolate and sipped it happily, pausing to blow some bubbles. "Hehe..bubbles." she said softly to herself and looked up at Rain." Hmmm I dont know." Akemi says you should name one Raito. Michi smiled. "I'll name the Polar bear Raito for Akemi-san." San? I dunno it just came out like that. Whatever. Evie was innerly laughing, it sounded nice together, but still slightly odd. "Iunno what i'll name the Panda tho..." Staring at the cup of chocolate Michi blew bubbles as she thought. Brandon Brandon took her hand and shook it lightly. "Pleasure." As she looked at him he felt slightly awkward but turned his gaze away, taking in the look of the lot. Listening to her she smiled. "I can get the trash out easy." He raised his hands and wiggles his fingers a bit, a stream of mud weaving skillfully through the moving appendages. "Earth is my element." He smiled and let the mud return to the ground, shoving his hands in his pockets. "So, helping the plants grow wont be a problem, I can even make a concave for the spring, or a pond." Brandons eyes went to the very dismal chainlink fences and huffed. "I guess i could take em down and put up those cross hatched white fences. The vine flowers would look pretty there, it'd give a nice feel to the area." He turned to Tina, wondering what she thought. |
Azura & Rose Rose and Azura both felt slightly awkward in the little room, "Yea, I'm just going let myself out."Rose said opening Vanessa's room door and walking out of it slowly shutting the door behind her quietly. If that was anymore awkward I think paper could have been cut by the silence.Agreed... lets take a walk around the grounds, we've been outside like once the whole time we've been here. Rose let Azura take control because she knew the building better, she could comprehend a map while Rose couldn't. She walked around the yard a little and spotted a couple of people she had never encountered before. "Hello there." Azura spoke smiling at the two. I'm not interrupting anything...am I? She asked a little unsure of herself. ((sorry i keep popping in and out of different scenarios... <3 ^^)) |
Brandon Brandon turned to the voice and smiled, a soft blush on his face from the cold of the outside. "Not anything in particular." He said with a grin and motioned her over. "Were just making plans for a garden out here. Whats your name?" |
