Shiloh Pepin
Well, on TLC right now is the last six months.
Of Shiloh Pepin's life. The only surviving (well not anymore I guess) person with mermaid syndrome ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sirenomelia ) that didn't have their legs separated. She died in October. I just wondered: How many of you actually know who I'm talking about Do you think she made a good/bad decision on not getting her legs separated? What would you have done in her position? What do you know/think about mermaid syndrome in general? I started crying during the TLC special (and looking at her facebook page) She was strong even though her life, compared to (most of) ours, sucked hairy monkey balls. Anyway, what do you think about all of this? (And yes I know I cry too easily.) I think I'm gonna cry again now that they're showing clips of the funeral. |

I believe this thread would be a better fit for the Media Forum, so i'll just move it along for you. :)

I found out about Shiloh Pepin when my FH told me to Google "real mermaids" (I think he wanted me to see that freaky-ass picture of the old withered man that was apparently a "mermaid"--look it up if you don't know what I'm talking about). Her life sucked, dude, but she was so strong. =( It made me sad, too.
