Refer a friend suggestion
 
So Just an idea, but alot of sites have a place were you can refer your friends to the site and you get a little something if that person signs up, i just think it would be cool to do even if you only got 1 gold per friend or something... or if you can refer 10 people to the site you get something cool... just an idea! lol lemme know why this wouldnt work though or maybe add on to it >.>

We will have a proper referral system one day, where people gain something. We've talked this out quite a bit because we'd need lots of safeguards to prevent unscrupulous people from trying to abuse it.

It's just one of the many things that will come along in the fullness of time, and that we have to explain to people each time someone else suggests it ><

What if the referral system got you items that you couldn't sell or trade? And you didn't know what they were ahead of time? Usually when people abuse referral systems, it's to sell the items they get. If they can't sell or trade the items, that's less incentive to abuse this system. If they don't know what the items are ahead of time, they never know if they'll get an item they'll really like, so this way it'll hopefully only reward people referring friends for fun or out of the goodness of their heart, something like that, without incidentally encouraging people to abuse it. A maximum amount of referrals per day/per week/per month could also help. Plus, if the account has the same IP address, it of course shouldn't count. And I think you guys can check our IP addresses, if I'm not mistaken?

No, they wouldn't be soul-bound items, I don't agree with those for situations such as this, what it would be would be something like you wouldn't gain anything for a person you referred unless that person actually became an active member. Once they'd made a certain amount of posts, only then would you gain a reward. But if you spam all your friends to get them to sign up and get endless people to create accounts and they never post once, you get nothing.
