"I want you to...kiss..."She started to say but she couldn't bring her self to ask that. She quickly looked down as the color flushed through her cheeks again. She really liked him, and she felt like she had known him forever, but in fact they had just met yesterday, she felt like she could trust him with anything and everything.

Devlyn felt his eyes widen as she spoke. She wanted to be kissed? That he didn't expect after knowing her for only a day, but for some reason he wanted to kiss her. "I'll kiss you." Devlyn murmured before sitting next to her. He smiled, and then dipped his head down and pecked her on the cheek. "Or do you want me to kiss you on the lips?" he asked her still smiling. Now that he was over his initial surprise he wanted to see how she reacted. She had already been blushing because she asked the question so he wanted to know if her heart would speed up even more, or if her face could get redder. It made him happy to know he could make her embarrassed it meant she liked him.

Ember felt him kiss her cheek, her heart raced faster and her face reddened to the shade of an apple. She opened her mouth to talk but she couldn't speak, instead she pointed at her lips then looked up at him with scared eyes. She was afraid he'd say no, or that he'd think she was crazy...Maybe he didn't like her, maybe he thought she was just feeling this way because she felt she owed it to him...

He grinned when her heart began to race faster, she was much more fun to be around than the female wolves. Devlyn knew when he made her embarrassed and she was really cute when her face was red. He looked into her eyes and then brought his hand up to touch her cheek, he didn't want her to be scared. Brushing his fingers along her cheek he tucked his other arm around her waist and pulled her a little closer to him before tilting his head and kissing her again, but this time he kissed her on the lips. "Your really cute when your blushing." he murmured as he pulled away from her.

Ember smiled and bit her lip again, the blush starting to fade. "I..I don't know why I'm so nervous around you." She said in a quite whisper, during the kiss her arms had made there way around his neck, and her legs across his. They were still there, and she didn't really feel like moving them.

Ember and Devlyn

"Maybe your nervous because of what I am." He murmured to her. Then he noticed her arms were wound around his neck and her legs were thrown across his. It made him feel possessive of her. Devlyn didn't want anyone to see or touch her. Part of him was in complete agreement, but he knew his better side and it was yelling that she needed human contact or at least contact with other females. Though he dreaded telling his sister what was going on. When he heard the front door crash open his head whipped around and he untangled himself from Ember and pulled his shirt off in case he needed to transform quickly. Several stomps were heard and he wondered why the other wolves had let whoever it was come up the stairs without stopping them.

And then his door was kicked in. Literally. When Devlyn spotted his sister he tensed for a moment before she started yelling. "How could you do it?!?" She blurted out when she spotted him. "You know were not supposed to tell people, even if they get lost your only supposed to return them to their families!" She added angrily. Then she growled at him her eyes narrowing. "That's like a betrayal to your family! I mean all the guys down stairs are practically your brothers!" She growled again. "Calm down, Rissa," Devlyn said to his sister. Her black hair swayed around her face as she got ready to start up another tirade of words. Her silver blue eyes matched Devlyn's eyes as well. "Let's take this outside." She said to him. Rissa hadn't even noticed Ember.

Ember stared wide eyed at Rissa. Was she a werewolf too? She must have been his sister the way she was yelling at him. Ember felt she should stand up for him....but somehow she felt that he might get angry at her if she interfered. She just cowered against the bed as she yelled. When she suggested they go outside Ember grabbed his hand and almost cried, she was more afraid of being in this house alone then being yelled at right now.

Rissa turned and growled at Ember when she grabbed Devlyn's hand. Her eyes narrowed on Ember, "You. Your the reason he's acting this way." She said stalking forward. Devlyn moved in front of her and growled back. "You will not touch her Rissa. She's done nothing wrong." He said. "And I'm not fighting you, your my sister and dad would kill me if I touched a pretty little hair on your head." Then he pulled Ember forward with the hand that she was gripping quite tightly. Turning back to Rissa he noticed she was gripping her hands tightly. Growling again she ripped all of her clothes off and then shifted quickly her wolf form was only a bit smaller than his but still lethal.

She crouched down her growling growing deeper by the minute. "Don't you dare." Devlyn warned her as she began to stalk around them both watching and waiting. Turning the way Rissa was stalking Devlyn kept Ember behind his back and he pushed her backwards away from himself when Rissa lunged at him. Shifting right before she bit him he jumped up when she was right over him and rammed her in the stomach with his head. There was the distinct sound of other wolves coming up the stairs after Rissa hit the far side of the room and got back up. Striker ran into the room first followed by Kane. Both of the gray wolves took guarding stances in front of each black wolf. Devlyn growled as Kane blocked his way. Then he turned his head to see if Ember was ok.

Being thrown across the room Ember hit the wall and smashed her head against a bookshelf knocking her out. She fell limp and useless on the floor like a rag doll. In fact the way her nightgown was to big on her and flowed around her, and how peaceful her face looked, she looked like a little porcelain doll, despite the blood pooling around her head.

Devlyn's eyes widened in surprise. He hadn't meant to push so hard, he had been worried that Rissa would hurt her. Shifting back he grabbed his pants and put them on before turning to the other wolves. "Get the van ready! Were going to the hospital!" He yelled and all the heads turned to him. When they noticed he was picking up a bleeding and unconscious Ember they bolted into action. All changing back the men put on pants and Rissa put her clothes back on. "I didn't mean to get her hurt during this, I was here to knock and bite some sense into you." She said lowering her head as Devlyn passed her.

"Just drive the van Rissa." Devlyn said through gritted teeth. He wanted to yell at her but it was both of their faults. Outside a silver van was started and Rissa jumped in the drivers seat while Devlyn climbed in the back with Ember. She sped through all the traffic lights and made it to the nearest hospital in record time. Throwing open the door Devlyn jumped out and ran up to the doors and into the hospital when they opened. He went straight to the counter and got help right away. A couple doctors came to take Ember away and put her into a room so they could make sure she was ok. Devlyn told them that she fell down the stairs and cracked the back of her head open.

Luckily they believed him. Then he went to sit outside of her room and wait. When Rissa came in she sat next to him still fuming it seemed but a little concerned as well. After a while Devlyn was tired of sitting in a chair and got up and went into her room himself. The doctors had already left the room... pulling a chair to the side of the bed he watched her as she slept.

Ember slowly opened her eyes and looked at Devlyn. "Am I dead?" She asked sleeply. She was still a little drugged out from the pain meds, and her head was wrapped up. She blinked her eyes a little before everything adjusted. "What happened? Where am I?" She asked looking at Devlyn scared. "Devlyn why am I in the hospital?" She asked wide eyed.

Devlyn jumped when she first spoke and then watched her for a couple moments. It was obvious this was not where she wanted to be, but at the moment he really couldn't care about that because she was ok. "Your here," he gestured to the walls around them, "because me and my sister got into a dog fight and you got hurt during the time that we were fighting." he murmured before looking at her again. "Do you feel ok? Does your head hurt? I can get someone to come in here if you need them." Devlyn said standing up quickly.

"No, your here, I'm fine." She said reaching for his hand but miscounculating the distance and almost falling out of the bed. She pulled her self back up and blushed deeply and sat up with her hands in her lap. Her head really didn't hurt as bad as she knew it should. "Did anyone else get hurt?" She asked worried.

Devlyn smacked himself in the head when she pulled herself back up. She could barely tell how far away from the bed he was and now she was worrying about other people. "No, and you don't need to worry about anyone else. You are the only one that wont get back up if broken in several places." He said running his hand through his hair. It would be really hard to take care of her if other wolves continually wanted to pick fights with him over her. "Next time this happens you need to hide in the closet or bathroom." He muttered. "Never mind I'm sure your head is killing you right now. I'll go and grab a nurse to get you some Ibuprofen or something." He said waiting for her to give him the ok before leaving.

"NO DON'T LEAVE ME! I mean it's okay. I'm fine really. In fact I think I'm ready to return back to the house." She said unsure if she was welcome to call it home or not. She felt bad that she was making him worry about her, she knew he'd be better off if she just left, but she just couldn't bring herself to leave him, even for a minute, besides he had told her that she wouldn't be able to leave now that she had found out what they were.

Devlyn stopped in his tracks when she yelled out. 'She must really hate hospitals.' he thought to himself before turning back to her. Peeking his head out of the door he motioned for Rissa to come to him. "What?" She asked him still miffed about what had happened. "I need you to look after Ember at the house, make sure she has everything she needs. I'll need to talk to the Alpha about her so I need someone I trust to watch her." He explained watching her. "Fine I'll watch her." Rissa said crossing her arms. Turning back around he looked at Ember, "Ok, we'll head back home, but your staying in bed for a couple days." Devlyn said sternly. "Rissa went to check you out so all I have to do is carry you out of here." He murmured.

Walking over to her he bundled her up in the blanket and then picked her up and hugged her close to him so she would be as cold when they went outside. Walking to the door he pushed it open with his boot. When they reached the front doors the van was outside waiting for them Rissa at the wheel. Smiling Devlyn walked through the doors opened the door and hopped into the van. As soon as they got back to the cabin he jumped out of the van with Ember and hurried up the first set of steps, opened the door, and then hurried up the second set of steps. Opening the door to his room he was relieved when no one was in it. Setting her on the bed he went and grabbed several covers and pillows for her to lay on. After setting four pillows up to support her he pointed to them. "Lay down." He commanded. "And tell me if you need anything." He added after a moment.

Ember stared at him when he commanded her to lay down like a dog. She understood that he just wanted her to be safe and comfertable but he didn't have to be so rude about it. She walked over to the bed and lay down, thank ful that the hospital didn't use those backless gowns, and instead had given her a small yellow longsleeve dress which again was to big for her. She settled into the bed and made herself comfertable dispite the now throbbing pain her in head. "Some asprin would be nice." She said softly wishing her wouldn't leave her.

Devlyn nodded and then headed for the door. When he reached the kitchen he went and searched through the cabinets until he found some asprin and then got a glass of water. What worried him most at the moment was the fact that Ember was hurt and that he had to talk to the Alpha soon. He was sure that the Alpha's mate would most likely be a part of what was probably going to be a long... discussion. Turning he walked back through the other parts of the cabin. Noting the fact that all the wolves that had been there earlier were still there. Usually they left. Walking back into his room he set the water on the night stand next to the bed and the pills as well. "Take those and get some sleep." He murmured to her. "I'm going to have to go and speak with the Alpha in a little while so I'm going to have Rissa watch over you so the other wolves wont bother you." He said pacing around the room.

"Maybe it would be best if...I let the other to kill me...It would stop all this fighting wouldn't it?" She asked taking the asprin and setting the cup back down on the table. She watched him pace the room and shead a few tears. She was causing him so much pain, she wasn't worth it. There was no point in staying here, if it would only harm him.

Devlyn froze as she spoke. His fists clenched at his side as anger welled up inside of him, anger at her for thinking that way, anger at the other wolves for making her feel that way. "Don't!" He said turning to look at her. "Don't say things like that." Devlyn saw she was crying and ran his hand through his hair. Could he do nothing to make her feel at peace around the others? Maybe he'd have to force them to be nice to her. "It's the nature of a wolf to fight, and it's in the nature of a wolf to defend. Rissa wanted to fight, I defended. That was not your fault Rissa was mad at me." He said. Walking over to her he wiped the tears off her face. "Go to sleep, Ember, I'll stay until you fall asleep and I'll be back as soon as I'm done speaking with the Alpha." He said encouraging her to rest.

Ember jumped when he yelled, then slightly flienched when he went to wipe her tears. She nodded and reached and kissed him, then rolled over on the bed and closed her eyes. She hadn't realized she was so tired. She insintly fell asleep.

Devlyn was a little surprised when she kissed him. It felt odd to have her do things like that when he was naturally a loner when it came to romance and relationships. Standing he headed out the door and closed it silently behind him. Heading down the stairs Devlyn took a seat in one of the vacant chairs in the living room the other wolves watched him as he entered. He supposed he'd wait here until the Alpha decided to talk to him.

The Alpha entered the House and looked around. "Devlyn!" He roared turning back into human form and pulling his shorts on. He walked up to him and glared at him. "We must speak. Where can we speak privately?" He asked as James walked in behind him already in human form.
