"That I would not understand and never will" Ashleigh said, returning to the couch.

Ashleigh petted the Phoenix that was on her sholder.
"This is a really friendly bird" she said.

"Maybe we can ask teh signers tomorrow. See what they say" Yana suggested and yawned.
"Somebody's sleepy...."Aka said.

"I think we all need to go to bed. I need to practice my songs tomorrow and so does the twins. They're doing a production of the Evil series when they go back to school. It's with both the schools combined. I should know since Aki's doing the Daughter of Vengeance. These two plays the main lead" Ashleigh said, "And they're opening the tournament with one of the Road Roller songs. Maybe the Drive! Drive me Flat one."

Monday came around. The Mutou twins knocked at Kasanagi's door.
"I just hope she's up" Yana said.

Kasanagi yawned as she headed for the door. "Yeah, yeah. I'm comin'." She said. She opened the door to the Mutou twins, Yana and Yuzuki. "What'dya what?" She asked, still half-asleep.

Back in her own room, Selena was preparing for the tournament by donning her wear as Kamikaze Sakura. She had recently dyed her hair pitch black and curled it, so it now cascaded down her back in luxurious raven-colored curls. She was wearing a pair of pinstripe trousers, a solid black suit vest, and formal white shirt with a cravat. The jacket for the suit was hanging over the back of a chair as she put her makeup on.

Selena herself was standing in front of the mirror applying black lipstick. She had the kohl eyeliner on, the glittering silver eyeshadow, and black as night nails on already. Inside of her blouse, she had her dog tags on. She never took them off. Once she was done with the makeup she pulled on her white gloves and pinstriped suit jacket, then grabbed her feathered hat off the bedpost. Those wannabes aren't gonna beat themselves, She thought as she donned her Duel Disk--the same one she'd used in Battle City--and her deck belt. Time to show them why the Five Legends are called legends.

Yugi pulled his jacket on. Unlike the one he'd worn in high school, this one was black and had a gold Wadjet Eye embroidered on the back. Other than that, the overall design was similar. It had been given to him a few years ago by Selena for Christmas. The rest of his outfit hadn't changed much; belted shoes, dark blue trousers, a belt-styled collar around his neck, and a black sleeveless top. He looked to his Duel Disk as he stood before the mirror in his and Ashleigh's bedroom. "Well, it's now or never." He said quietly. He picked up the Duel Disk, slid it onto his arm, and inserted his deck.

"And that's it," Judai said as he straightened the collar of his old Slifer Red uniform jacket. "Wow, I'm surprised this old thing still fits,"

"That makes two of us." Sora replied. "Seriously, you need to quit getting your license revoked. I think that's the only difference between you and Johan; Johan can drive, you can't."

"Gee, thanks." Judai said. He picked up his Duel Disk and slid it onto his arm, making sure his Elemental Hero deck was safely in it's slot. "At least I'm getting the thing back in a couple of days."

"Yeah. Just try and keep from speeding this time, idiot." Sora said. "Kuriboh, please try and make sure my brother behaves, won't you?"

Judai ignored his sister's comment. "Time to get our game on!"

Ruby purred as Johan scratched her between the ears. "You can feel it too, huh?" he said as the feline spirit nuzzled his hand. He picked her up and let her hop onto his shoulder as he attempted (not that it ever worked) to get his blue hair under control. As usual, it refused to to anything but unruly--even more so it seemed since he'd graduated from West Academy. He slipped on his duel disk and slid his prized Crystal Beast deck into the slot. "Well, time to get out there and duel."

Bakura pulled his hair back into a low ponytail. Sure, he'd get tease by Jonouchi (again), but now that his hair was longer...well, it would get in the way when he duelled. And, at least in his opinion, it made him look less than a girl. As he was pulling his black coat on, his phone rang. It was Melhana. "Hello?" He asked.

"I'm just calling to wish you good luck." Melhana said. From the sounds of it she was getting ready for the first race of the day. "Try not to get beaten in the first round, 'kay?"

"Melhana, you know that's not going to happen." Bakura replied. "Think I'll see you at the tournament after your race?"

"Maybe, but I doubt it." Melhana replied. "I'm not supposed to start until three in the afternoon, and we're running half an hour behind schedule."

"Fun." Bakura said. He looked at his watch. "I'm going to have to get going; the duels start in a few hours."

"All right. See you later hon." Melhana replied.

Bakura smiled. "Yeah, see you." He said before hanging up. He slipped his deck into the slot and put his Duel Disk on. He touched a hand to his heart. "And hope that I come back alive."

Jonouchi pulled his T-shirt on, having just gotten out of bed. "I still don't see why it's a big deal what I wear to a tournament," he mumbled as he grabbed his coffee from the desk. He was about to head out when he remembered something.

His Duel Disk. He went back to grab it, only to realize at the end of the hall that he'd forgotten his deck as well. swearing, ran back down the hall to get it, then started back down the hall, making sure he had everything. Once again, he found he'd forgotten something--his wallet this time. "DAMMIT!!!!" He shouted as he headed back to his apartment. By the time he made sure he'd remembered everything, his coffee was empty and he was running late. "That's it...if I forget anything else, I'm leaving it!"

Manjoume donned his signature black coat before slipping his Duel Disk onto his arm. The outfit he was wearing now was almost exactly the same as from the Academy, the only change being in the shirt. If it hadn't been for his sister, he'd be wearing that black turtleneck shirt as well. However, she'd snuck into his room a couple nights ago and taken it under the premise of throwing it in the laundry. Honestly, he just thought Kasanagi was screwing with him. And he was still pissed. Edo Pheonix, I'm going to murder you. NOBODY touches my twin sister. Manjoume thought angrily. I swear Pheonix, the next time I see you will be when I strangle you, you demented, evil little bastard--

"Whachta thinking, boss?" Ojama yellow asked, shaking his speedo-covered butt. The annoying little yellow weirdo did nothing to improve Manjoume's mood.

"Just shut up you little oddball!" Manjoume snapped. He grabbed his Duel Disk and deck and stormed out in a rage. Pheonix, you will die.

Daichi finished with his tie in the mirror. In a way, he was a bit relieved that Aoi was preoccupied with training for the Olympics at the moment--it meant that there was less of a risk that she'd try using his tie as a leesh. It also meant that--hopefully--it wouldn't be as loud in the competetor's area. Though, since Kasanagi was singing, that was doubtful. He took one last check of his deck before slipping it into an inner pocket of his suit jacket and buttoning it. Better now than never, he thought as he picked up his Duel Disk and slid it onto his arm.

Crow cracked his knuckles in the mirror. "Lookin' good," he said. He wasn't wearing anything different than he usually did; okay, so he'd changed his vest for his riding jacket, but that was it. He picked up his Blackwing deck and slid it into the slot on his duel disk. "Let's do this!"

Jack flipped the collar up on his long, white coat. Unlike before, he wasn't meerly entering the tournament, to win; he was entering to get Yusei back in his right mind. He pulled up the sleeve on his coat to expose his Signer mark. It had been tingling ever since Yusei had brought them to that meeting while they were asleep. "Yusei, we'll get you back." He said. "Even if it costs us our lives, we'll get you back."

He strode to the door, picking up his Duel Disk (his deck was already in it) as he went. He paused in front of the door before heading out into the hall. I promise. He thought as he left.

"Dad told us to tell you something. Can we come in?" Yana asked.

Ashleigh peered out of the bedroom.
"I can't believe they want both the twins and myself to open the tornament! I wanted a sleep in" she grumbled as she came out. She was wearing an vocaloid's outfit.
"This doesn't really suit me. What happens if i rebel and wear something different that it's a bit appropiate to the song?" she asked Yugi.

"What is it?" Kasanagi asked as she let them in.

Yugi blushed when he saw what Ashleigh was wearing. That skirt was a bit shorter than what he was used to seeing her in, not that he was complaining....

"Uh, maybe something that's a bit more your age," Yugi stammered, his face beet red. Ignore the skirt...ignore the skirt...ignore the skirt....

Ashleigh went back and brought out a flowery dress which went over the knees.
"Is this better?" she asked.

"Its more of an request. You heard of the Alternative version of the Daughter of Evil right?" Yana asked.

"Yeah," Kasanagi said as she put on coffee. "What about it?"

Yugi's blushing went down a bit, but not completely. "Better, much." He said. "You look great, by the way."

"Thanks. I bet End and Ryo didn't watch the PV for it" Ashleigh said.

"Do you mind doing that at the end?" Yana asked.
"If you like, I can sing the Servant's side of the story. you know that we auditioned for the play and we got the main leads. Plus I need the practice" Yuzuki said.

"Which Ryo are you talking about?" Yugi asked. At that same moment his cell phone rang with a text from Selena.

The rest of us are here. Where are you? It read.

"Looks like I have to meet up with the rest of the gang," Yugi said. "I'll see you at the tournament, then."

"Sure, but I've never sung it before." Kasanagi replied, re-emerging from the kitchen. "That, and I'm only slated to sing the ten I've been rehearsing."

"Thanks. Dad thought it wasn't a good idea to bombard your performance" Yana said.

"Yeah, ok!" Ashleigh yelled.
You know, Bakura. he's not participating in the tournament and he's one of the organizers she thought.

Kasanagi nodded, yawning again. "Is that all you guys wanted to ask? Because I've got to get ready for the tournament. I'm going to be watching, since I don't perform today." She said.

Yugi waved as he left the apartment and headed to the car garage. He got into his blue Focus, and was at the arena where the tournament was going to be held: Kaiba Corp Stadium. He parked in the private lot, showed his ID to enter, and proceeded to the main arena where the duels were going to be.

In all, there were 32 competitors, but half of those were present. "The rest of the competetors have already been told what's going on," Kaiba was saying when Yugi entered. "Nice to see you're here, Yugi. Way to show up late."

"I see you're doing well," Yugi said, noting the cane Kaiba was using for extra support. He must still be weak from a few days ago, he thought. Has he even recovered enough to be out of the hospital?

"One more thing. Can you teach me the song when that tornament is over?" Yana asked, "Mum didn't want me to learn that song."
"Yana! Yuzuki! It's time for you to get your costumes! Meet me in front of the stairs" Ashleigh's voice floated down the corridor and into the room.

"Sure," Kasanagi said. "Now out please. Before your mom comes in and drags you out."

"Heya!" Judai said, giving Yugi his typical two-fingered salute. Yugi returned it, noting Manjoume glaring at Edo with clear distaste.

"What's up with Manjoume-kun?" Yugi asked quietly. Judai shrugged.

Ashleigh and the twins made it to backstage. The woman came out wearing the flowery dress while Yana was wearing her Rin Dress. She was wearing a score necklace around her neck. She was wearing a ribbon in her hair. Yuzuki was wearing the typical Len outfit.
"You guys will be following my lead. I go on first, then when I'm done, you be on. Your cue is "Yellow Fat Road Roller" ok?"
"Yes mum" they said in usion.

"Looks like the females win again" said a total familiar voice. That followed with a flick of the hair. "Why do you guys always have to leave late. Including the bone-headed Jonouchi."

"What's his problem?" Mai asked in a what-on-earth-going-on tone of voice, "something tells me that he's going to be a tough opponent."
"That's not who he is really" Atem whispered in Mai's ear, "The real Yusei Fudo is more withdrawn in himself." then he walked past the crew.
"Come along Yusei, there is no need to deal with that lot untill you face them. Lord Kaimri's orders" he said. Yusei nodded and walked on ahead.
"Kaimri's the enemy's name. And believe you and me, he's really powerful and if you step one foot out of line, you're gone" Atem said before walking on, "You're lucky that I'm still on your side still."
