"And you still as stubbon as ever" Mai sighed.

Which one? Jonouchi or Kaiba? Selena asked via typing on her phone.

"What do you think?" Mai asked, glaring at Kaiba.

Oh. The asshole. Selena typed.
"You're not being very talkative, Sakura." Jack said. Selena was already typing a reply. I got a bad case of laringitis and had to have my vocal chords taken out. She lied. "So one of the Legends is a mute now?" Kaiba asked. "Well, that's a surprise." Just because I'm now a mute doesn't mean I'm any less dangerous, Kaiba. Selena typed. Remember that. "Hmph," Kaiba looked away. |
"Hey! I think that it's about to start. We better get inside" Mai pointed out.

Kaiba nodded. "Before all of you head to the competitor's area, there's something you all need to know." The group gathered around, and Kaiba lowered his voice. "I doubt that some kind of magic shit is going on, but something is definitely off. I don't need to go over the details, but the short of it is that someone is trying to sabotage the tournament. The only reason I'm not competing is the fact that I'm one of the organizers."
"The same with Ryo Marufuji and Edo Pheonix," Yugi continued. "Whatever's going on, we're going to stop it." |
"Well, what I just saw, it's like the Orichalcos all over again and this time, some else has the power to rule the rule and make promises that he can't even keep!" Mai then sighed, "and what's worse that Yusei person isn't himself and he's completely withdrawn in this coccon thing." Something mustive happened in that woman's absence and it might come in handy later.

"What happened to you, Mai?" Jonouchi asked. She hadn't been with the gang at all lately, so he was wondering how she knew about what was going on with Yusei.
"I'll let you geeks sort out that conondrum on your own, in the competitor's suite." Kaiba said, walking off with a clear limp in his step, even with the cane. "The tournament's opening ceremonies start in an hour. Use it to get ready." Kasanagi had finally decided on the outfit she would wear for the opening ceremony. The tournament was going to go for five days, and she was singing on the fourth day. However, she was needed for a duet with Ashleigh to singe the Japanese national anthem for the tournament's opening. At the moment, she was in Edo's car as he was driving to the arena to sort out any last-minute snags. |
"Beats me" Mai shrugged as they went inside to the suite, "It started after the first Orichalcos fiasco. It was weird but it seems like I can see in people's souls and see what's happening to them. Then I found out that the magic which was left over was still inside of me" and she clicked her fingers. A staff (which is close the Magican of Black Chaos kind) came out.
"I'm a level 6 mage" she said. |
"Have you had any training at all?" Bakura asked. He could tell that Yugi was thinking the same thing.
'Level six...that's quite a jump from something like that. I mean, the both of us trained for years before we hit that level.' Bakura linked to Yugi. 'Yeah,' Yugi replied. 'It makes me wonder who trained her.' |
"I've been training after this Amanda girl showed up. She's really stricked. She said I have to be here to help you guys to try and stop this tragedy from happening that I got told about. I'm not here to particapate. I missed out on the qualifiers because of training. Amanda is trying to revive somebody from a sacrifice that she made" Mai explained. Everyone froze where they were.

"Max," Yugi whispered. "She's trying to revive Max?"
"Think she'll try and get us to join again when she gets back?" Crow asked. "If she gets back." Jack pointed out. |
Mai opened the door. A woman wearing an orange outfit a mask, a pair of orange "wings" and a hair peice was sitting down, acting posh, right to the cup of tea.
"I wondered if you showed up" she said, not looking at the gang. |
"Um, who're you again?" Yugi asked.
Kasanagi was staring out the window at nothing in particular as she rode in the passenger seat of Edo's car. It feels like a rerun of Duel Academy, she thought. She glanced towards Edo. I hope that we all get out of it alive. We barely survived the lasts time. |
"Madame Butterfly. One of the best duelists in the female department. I'm here to participate in the Woman's League" the woman replied.
"You ok Kasanagi? Edo asked. |
"I'm worried." Kasanagi replied, staring back out the window.
Just the Woman's League? Selena typed. Why not the main tournament? I'm competing in that. So's Akiza. |
"Just the Woman's League. Nothing more, nothing less" Madame Butterfly, "Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to have a shower. It's starts in an hour you know." And she left for the bathroom.
"That woman is familiar. Too familiar" Mai sighed. "Worried about what?" Edo asked. |
"The mess we've gotten throw into again." Kasanagi replied. "It feels like Duel Academy all over again, and you know that we barely survived that."
Yeah, and I know who she is. Selena thought. "Well, if the tournament starts in a hour, we may as well relax." Judai said, flopping down in one of the chairs and flipping through the channels on the TV screen. "Seriously, Slacker, you need to learn how to be serious." Manjoume said as he sat down and started arranging his deck. "I am serious, Manjoume." Judai said, putting down the remote and leaning back. "I'm just taking things one step at a time instead of stressing out over everything." |
About half an hour lately, Anzu heard Yugi coming into the bathroom.
Crap! Somebody's coming in! Luckly I'm dressed and had my hair blowed dried. All I need to do is to brush it she thought, "I have to hurry." "I see what you mean" Edo sighed. |
Yugi walked into the bathroom to see Anzu with her hair still slightly damp, the blow dryer in her hand. She was fully clothed, but that didn't make the embarassment any less.
"What're you doing here Anzu?!" He blurted out, then slapped his hand over his mouth. "hes....." Kasanagi checke her watch. "We going to be at the stadium soon?" She asked, then chuckled. "Sounds kind of stupid to be concerned about getting to a tournament on time when we're plowing into another fight for humanity." |
"Well, I'm not entering this year due to what happened to me lately. So get back in and I can drive you to the public entrance. I presume that Ashleigh already walked though there?" Edo said.
Anzu jumped and quickly turned around. "How did you know it was me Yugi?" she gasped, dropping the hairbrush that was in her other hand. |
Kasanagi nodded as she got back in the car. "Aren't you one of the organizers, though?" She asked.
"Uh, you're not wearing that mask you were before." Yugi replied, his face still red. |
"I had my eyes closed you dimwit!" Anzu yelled, "Can't you let a girl some privacy?" She was on a verge of using her self defense moves on Yugi.
******** "No, I wasn't planning to go but they asked me to be part of the VIP guest lists" Edo explained. |
"Eeeep!" Yugi backed away. "It's not my fault the bathroom's unisex!"
Anzu looks pissed.... Kasanagi nodded. "You still going to be in the audiance?" she asked. |
"Of course I will. All VIP guests have to be at the opening and the closing" Edo said.
"Read the signs! Have you ever read There is a Boy in the Girls Bathroom before for ENGLISH???" Anzu said, getting ready to strike. |
