"Downside of it though is that whoever faces Yusei goes crazy when they loose. Something we all have to look out for. Somebody MUST knock him out before the finals" Ashleigh said.

They all nodded grimly.
"I'm just hoping we all survive." Johan said. The next day brang the second day of duels. Once again, Sakura got stuck with a pathetically weak duelist, which ended in another one-turn-kill. As per Kasanagi's prediction, Aoi creamed Jun. The second duels of the day turned out to be Fubuki Tenjoin vs Ryo Marufuji and Akiza Izinsky vs. Crow Hogan. "I hope you know that I'm not going easy on you, Akiza." Crow said. |
Akiza sighed.
"I just hope I can focus" she replied. |
"Don't we all," Crow replied.
"And in three...two...one....DUEL!" The announcer shouted. |
After that duel, Crow was knocked out. Akiza lost control of her powers (the psychic powers of course) leaving Crow painting. Losing her love of her life really took a toll on her.

Selena was waiting for Akiza in the hall. I gotta admit, you've got skill. She typed on her phone. But...and I'm not trying to be insulting or anything, but you need to get a bit more control over your powers.
The result of the duel between Ryu and Fubuki was Ryu's win, but barely. "Looks like we're still pretty evenly matched," He said jokingly as Aoi stepped up to her opponent. |
"My powers haven't gone out of control in ages Sakura" Akiza replied, "I just want Yusei back."

Selena typed something out on her phone and showed it to Akiza. We all do, believe me.
Ironically, Yusei's duel was next. And he was going up against Johan to boot. "Well, hello there ladies." He said coolly. |
"What do you want?" Aki snapped coldly.

Yusei put his hands up. "Easy, girl. I'm not here to hurt you or anything. Just trying to make a bit of small talk." He said.
Selena typed something out on her phone and showed it to Yusei: Don't you realize what you've done to Akiza? When are you going to wake the hell up? Yusei put his hands in his pockets and shrugged. "Why would I do that? The Yusei you know is gone." His eyes suddenly became cold as ice. "And I'll have you know that anyone who stands in my way will die. Understand? And that includes you, Izayoi." |
"I just hope that you loose and pay for what you have done to the one I love" Aki shouted, resulting 'Yusei' holding her in his arms. And she wasn't even sufficating.

"Oh, I won't lose." Yusei said quietly, pinning Akiza to the wall and whispering in her ear. "And when I face off against you, I'll enjoy it the most." He planted a small kiss on her cheek before withdrawing. "Well, I have a duel to win. See you in the quarter finals!"

"What was that about?" Aki asked. Atem was behind her.
"He still wants you, controlled or not. If you loose against him, he will make you follow his every command. He won't harm you" he said before walking behind Yusei. |
'Aren't you competing, Atem?' Selena asked via mindlink. At the same time she was typing a message for Akiza.
In other words, if you want to keep your own will, don't lose to him. Whatever you do, don't lose to him. It read. She typed another message and showed it to the girl. It could easily be that a defeat from you may very well help snap him out of it. |
'I can't anymore. I had to withdraw earlier before the proper confirmation because of what's happening in the moment. Plus I have to be Yusei's 'coach' according to the orders I have been given. Looks like I used the right amount of antidote I was given, which reminds me. How long did it take till you got the power out of your veins?' Atem mindlinked back.
"But, I'm scared that I might hurt him" Aki replied. |
'About...three or four days?' Selena replied as she typed a reply for Akiza. 'It was real mindfuck while that power was in me, I'm telling you. Even with the antidote, it's in the back of your mind trying to bend you to its will.'
Don't be afraid to beat him, even if it hurts him. You can't afford to be. Selena's message read. She typed another and showed it to Akiza. Going easy on him because he's your friend or lover could cost you your life. |
'You tell me. Using it once is bad enough! Luckly, they don't want me to use the power. Only in emergencies only' Atem replied.
"I know that" Aki replied. |
'Then please try your best to stay out of emergency situations.' Selena said.
I'm just making sure you're certain. Selena typed the message and showed it to Akiza. Outside, Yusei and Johan were facing each other in the dueling arena. "Are both duelists ready?" The announcer asked. Both nodded. "Good. Then, let the duel begin!" "I'm going first," Yusei said, drawing his first card. "I place two cards face-down and end my turn" |
"I just know that Johan is going to loose. Yusei's way too good for him" Aka said.
'Got it' Atem replied. |
'What sucks is that none of us can help you out if you do get into some kind of trouble.' Selena linked. The message she was typing on her phone she showed to Akiza:
Don't be so sure. I've seen Johan duel before; his Crystal Beast deck is a force to be reckoned with. "My turn then," Johan said, drawing his card. "I summon Crystal Beast-Amythyst Cat in attack mode." Now do I risk an attack with those face-downs of his? Or play it safe? Johan thought. Judai told me about this guy, and since I've met him he's semmed like a nice guy, but now I don't think he'll play by his old rules. "I'll end with a couple of face-down cards of my own. Your move." |
'Got it. Tell me when you are going to plan for the final stand. All I know this for sure. Make sure that the girl has someone with her at all times after the tornament' Atem replied.
Akiza showed her glowing mark. "It's more of a gut feeling" she said. |
'I will, don't worry.' Selena replied.
Selena nodded. She typed out another message: C'mon, let's go watch the duel. It read. She stepped out into the competitor's booth to see that it was Yusei's turn. "Not going to attack me, huh? All right, then, my turn." He drew his card and smiled. "I play the spell, One for One. Now if I discard a monster from my hand, I get another from my deck. I Special Summon Sonic Chick! Now, I'll summon Junk Synchron, which let's me summon a monster from my graveyard, and I'll pick Bicular." He announced. Looks like he's getting ready for a Synchro Summon. Selena thought. She turned out to be right. "Now, I'll tune my Junk Synchron with my Bicular to summon Junk Warrior! And thanks to it's effect, it gains 300 attack." Yusei said, smirking. "Now, Junk Warrior, attack his cat!" "I activate Block Attack!" Johan announced, but Yusei was ready for it. "Magic Jammer," Yusei countered. "And now that your spell is out of the way, say goodbye to your cat." Johan threw his arms in front of his face as his Crystal Beast was destroyed. "Sorry, girl." He said quietly. A purple gem appeared on the field. "Instead of sending them to the graveyard, my Crystal Beasts get to stay on the field in my Spell and Trap card zone as gems." Yusei shrugged. "I end my turn." Selena narrowed her eyes. Yusei didn't have Magic Jammer before, I don't think. She thought. Johan, you'd better be careful or you'll end up losing. |
Aki turned and walked away. She couldn't bare watching the duel or any duel that relates to that thing who is dueling in Yusei's place.

Johan drew. So that's a Synchro Monster. I've got to find some way to get it off the field. He thought. "I play the field spell card Ancient City-Rainbow Ruins!" He announced. "And because I've got one Crystal Beast in my Spell and Trap Zone, it can't be destroyed by any card effects. I'll also summon Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus. Thanks to his effect, I can put one of my Crystal Beasts in my Spell and Trap Zone." An amber stone appeared next to the purple one. "I'll equip him with Crystal Release, which gives him another 800 attack points! Sapphire Pegasus, attack his Junk Warrior!" The Pegasus attacked, ramming right through Yusei's Junk Warrior. (Yusei LP: 3600) "I end my turn." "My draw then," Yusei replied. "You really should have gotten rid of my Sonic Chick. I send my face-down to the graveyard to Special Summon Card Breaker from my hand. I also summon my Drill Synchron in Attack Mode." He smiled. "I'll tune my level 2 Card Breaker with my level 3 Drill Synchron and my level 1 Sonic Chick to Synchro Summon my Drill Warrior! And since he isn't stronger than your Crystal Beast, I'll halve my warrior's attack power to attack you directly!" Drill Warrior's attack went down and it charged at Johan. Johan screamed as his Life Points fell again. (Johan LP: 1700) "I guess it's time to put you out of your misery." Yusei said. "I'll activate this spell from my hand; Soul Cannon. I can destroy one of my monsters and inflict damage equal to its effect to your Life Points. Goodbye Drill Warrior, and hello to another 1200 points of damage!" Drill Warrior was destroyed, and its soul shot at Johan, who screamed again as he recieved another attack. (Johan LP: 500). "That's enough for now. I'll play a face-down card and end my turn." |
Aki leaned towards the wall and slid down to the floor.
I wish that the whole thing never happened in the first place she thought. An arm (a spirit one of course) went around her shoulders. |
