"Man, that brought back memories when this pair took Yugi away form me" Ashleigh said and everyone - except Yugi of course - laughed.
"And it had to happen in my absence" Atemu said.

"Guys, I have something to say and I know that you won't take it well" Ashleigh said.

"What's that?" Yugi asked.

"So," Melhana said, "when were you planning to move the wedding up to?"

"About a month from now," Bakura replied. "I know it's short notice, but--"

Melhana shushed him by placing her finger on his lips. "I don't mind," She said. "With all that's happened, I don't blame you for wanting to get it over with, just in case we don't make it."

"I have to go back. I know it's going to be a sacrfice but I know my tim is coming" Ashleigh said.
"Wait, hold on. Are you going to just walk into their hands?" Atemu asked.

"You've gone crazy!" Yugi shouted. "Did I just hear you right, or is this some crazy nightmare?"

"I've got some good news at least," Bakura said.

"What is it?" Melhana asked.

"While you were imprisoned by Kaimiri, I took up the job of training Jack." Bakura replied. "He's got a fire aligned aura like yours. And he's getting quite a bit of control over it."

"That's great!" Melhana replied.

"That's not all." Bakura said. "He's about ready to summon his ka for the first time."

"Neither. It's either that or you all being killed by Kaimiri's final form and believe me, it's worse than that" Ashleigh replied.
"You are not going! We just got you back and we are NOT letting you go" Atemu ordered.
"But you can't control free will" Aka said.

"I agree with Atem. She's not going." Yugi said. "I won't let you do this, Asheigh."

"So, that's two events we have to prepare for now." Melhana said, changing the subject. "First a funeral, and then a wedding."

"I'm sorry but my mind's made up. I'm going back there when I can and that's in 4 weeks" Ashleigh said.
"Yugi, remember what Laria said? We can change that. Thing is, how can we kept her here before the 4 weeks are up?" Atemu asked Yugi, leaving the channel up to the two Yamis.

Yana stood in the booth, her heart pounding. All of this was happening too fast.
"Ready when you are" Yuai said. Yana nodded and gulped.
Here goes nothing she thought and sang.
The girl sighed with relief. It was all over.

"Congratulations, Yana." Kurogi-san, Kasanagi's record producer, said. "It appears you're signed on. I'm looking forward to being able to produce several excellent albums with you."

Yugi nodded. 'It looks like we won't be able to change her mind either. I just wish she wasn't going through with this.....'

"If we are lucky, she won't go through with this. So apparently....." Aka added.
"And what's worse, D-Day is comming up fast. in 2 months in fact. Kaimiri is really impatient" Ashliegh said, "I don't know if...."
"Has anyone heard of the Ultimate Shard before?" a Voice asked. Everyone turned to see Yusei (yes the Angel version of him) was standing there.

"No WAY!!!" Yana said as she rushed to Sora and Yuai.
I can't believe I did it!! she thought happily.

"So, I take it you got the recording contract?" Sora asked, having heard the younger girl's shout.

"Yusei?" Yugi asked. "No, I haven't."

Neferhenta shook her head as well. "Neither have I."

"The Ultimate Shard only appears in a human or a magical being once in 500 years and will be hunted down by several attempts including mind control" Yusei explains, "And this shard is really special. It is in a person who is an angel spirit AND has magical powers. Only you suppose to have one or the other." Everyone looked at Ashleigh.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" she asked.

"You bet" Yana said. First a power upgrade, now a record deal? That's two in one day!

"Mind control, angel spirit, magical powers," Neferhenta said, counting off the traits on her fingers. "You fit all the requirements for it, Ashleigh."

"At least this one didn't require you to get blastedd into a wall." Sora said.

"Wall? I nearly got force to join the bad side" Yana replied.

"This is not good. I change my mind. I'm staying" Ashleigh said.
"You can't! You have a duty to preform" another voice piped up. They all looked and saw Mokuba in his new white clothes and a pair of angel wings.
"Believe me when I tell you this. You have a duty to preform which requires your body to be dead. Don't worry, you will return in about 5 months after D-Day" Mokuba continued, "And you can't escape it."
"Then what happens if I don't want to do it?" Ashleigh resorted.

Yugi squeezed Ashleigh's hand in comfort. "I think we've all done things the rest of us would rather we hadn't." He said gently. He turned his attention to Yusei. "My question is what you're doing here. Aren't you under the control of that entity-thing?"

Selena was back in her quarters, running a hand over her scar. Something Max had told her right after they got back from Saharia's coronation was still haunting her:

"There's a way for you to get your voice back. It won't be perfect, but you'll be able to speak again."

Selena let her hand fall from the scar. If she's right...I'll be able to speak. She thought. She found herself taking the request seriously. She put the choker back on. It can't hurt to try.

"Um, Yugi, he looks older" Atemu pointed out.
"That's right" Yusei replied, "And I presume that you were able to find...."
"MUM! DAD! I DID IT!!" Yana's voice ran through the corridors.

"You sure you want to go through with this?" Saharia asked, facing the back of Selena.

"Everyone cover your ears." Neferhenta deadpanned.

Yugi smiled slightly. "What were you going to say, Yusei?" He asked.

Selena nodded. "I've been living without vocal chords since I finished high school. I think it's high time I get to speak again." She typed.

"Because of that, I lost what I was going to say about that. Anyway, the main function of the Ultimate Shard is having all the shards in one, meaning ultimate power. Yuai's shard is exactly like it" Yusei said, as Yana, Sora and Yuai in question entered the room, "It also means that when taken, all people with shards will be under Kaimiri's command." There was a hush in the room.
"So, why am I here then Yusei?" Yuai asked.
"Wait. You can see him?" Atemu asked.
"I had this gift of seeing all kinds of spirits. That's why Laria and myself volonteer at the Temple of the Legendary Monsters" Yuai explained.
"So, you're Yuai" Max said, putting all the peices together finally.
"That's right. I got kidnapped from my time and had my body taken over" Yuai replied.

"In other words, no more dark Ashleigh." Sora said. "That's a relief." She shifted uncomfrotably on her feet.

"What's wrong, Sora?" Yugi asked.

Sora hesitated. Finally, she answered. "Judai's....he's become the Supreme King again."

"I'm going to go see how much Jack has improved while I was gone." Melhana said.

"Hold on," Bakura said, "the rest of the Signers have been training as well."

"Oh?" Melhana asked.

Bakura nodded. "Yugi's been teaching Crow about his power, Sakura and Mana have been helping Aki with her powers, and Ruka's been waiting for a teacher as well." he replied. "And one of Yusei's, Crow's, and Jack's old friends has been bothering me to bee his mentor. Kyosuke Kiryu."

"Looks like we've got quite a few promising mages now," Melhana replied. "Thanks for the update!" With that she ran off to the training arenas.

Yuai shook her head.
"Dark Ashleigh is still around. I should know. I'm friends with her future self. I can't say why or how" she said.

"Why did that brat broke control?" the entity cried, "I liked that body." Both Kaimiri and the female entity was walking to the throne room and by the sounds of things, Kaimiri's father wasn't too happy.

Kaimiri slid a comforting hand around the entity's waist. Or what could be considered a waist. "I know you did. I liked the power that came with it." He said. He stiffened when he saw how pissed his father was.

"Father, to what do I owe this pleasure?" He asked.

Judai's hand dropped from his face. His eyes were back to normal, but he was anguished by what had happened.

"I did...what?" He asked in a quiet voice.

Yusei was standing over the young man with his arms crossed. "Your sister, and your friends. All dead. Because of you." He said coldly.

Judai collapsed to the ground. His spirit was broken. "No.....it's not true. I don't believe you!"

Yusei grabbed Judai by the collar of his shirt and yanked him up to face him. "Quit deniying the truth you fool!" He growled. "You say what you'd done. You were the one with their blood on your hands, not me!"

"I'm scared" the entity said.

"An entity becoming a person?" Yana asked, "That's weird."
"But also common. When one has developed feelings of a human, the entity is formed into a soul and a human body will form, thus a name will be given and might be given powers of his or her own. Having a shard is unknown" Yusei said.

"You know why I'm here, Kaimiri." the dragon god said. "That entity you sent to control Fudo has defied orders mutltiple times, and as for Haou...let's just say that we no longer have the Supreme King on our side any more. I demand to know what you've been doing with all these jokes!"

Kaimiri shrugged. "I was merely doing what you've been instrucing me to, father." he replied coolly.

"So what you're saying...is that entity is no longer an entity." Yugi said.

---

After checking Jack's quarters and finding he wasn't there, Melhana checked the dojo. Sure enough, there was her student, meditating. "I hear you've been keeping up with your training."

"What about me? Somehow, the person that you wanted me to control has broken free and I'm distraught and upset about it" the entity said.

"Not quite, the entity is still as it is but the transformation is slowly happening" Yusei replied.

---

"When are you going to surgery?" Saharia asked.
