"Stay out of this, girl." The god said, snarling at the femal entity. "Unless you want to go back to the oblivion from whence you came."
"How many problems is she going to cause when it does becom an actual person?" Yugi asked. "Day after tomorrow." Selena typed her reply. "Hmph." Jack grunted in reply. "I haven't had much choice. Your finacee is as much of a hardass as you are." "The only way to get anything through that head of yours is to be a hardass." Melhana replied. As she watched him meditate with his back to her, she could see just the slightest wisps of orang aura pulsing around his body. Ryo's right; he does have a fire aura. she thought. |
"Well, seeing how she was when she lost control of Yuai, I take that she is starting to be a nucence" Yusei replied.
The entity blinked then ran off crying, letting father and son at it. "You sure you will be ok for D-Day?" Saharia asked, "oh, you might want to look at some eyepatches too." |
"I will be. And no need." Selena typed. She pointed to an eyepatch on the dresser. The ties were made of black lace and the Japanese kanji for "akuma (demon)" was embroidered with gold and silver thread on the patch. "I made that."
"You got that right." Yugi said. "Apparently she's already tried taking over one of the girls. It didn't end well." |
"Yeah that...that...." Yuai said, angrily.
"Calm down. We can get through this, right Nefe?"Atem said, "Nefe? NEFERHENTA! Are you even listening?" ****** Saharia whistled. "Wow, nice work there" she said. |
"Ow! That was my ear you just murdered, and yes, Dad, I have been listening." Neferhenta replied. "At least I was, until you blew out my right eardrum."
"Thanks," Selena typed in reply. "Just goes to show you that my talents aren't limited to dueling." "You have no right to interfere with my plans, Father." Kaimiri spat. "Of course I have a right, you insolent child." the god replied. "I don't approve of how you are going about these plans of yours." "You don't have to." Kaimiri snarled in reply. "'The ends justify the means.' Isn't that what you always drilled into my head? Or are you now deciding to stop practicing what you preach?" The god roared. "YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!!!" He said. "Those entities you've created, they have the capability to gain souls, bodies, personalities of their own! What you have created from the abyss may very well be your doom." |
"Nefe, you wern't listening. You were in a daze of some sort" Atemu said.
"Or singing. I got told that you use to sing" Saharia replied. Both the entity and Yusei hid and watched the comotion. "I think there is a way for him to redeem himself. And I know how" the entity whispered. |
"Great. Then what is it?" Yusei asked.
"I was too listening." Neferhenta replied, distracted. "If these entities can gain souls of their own....How long would that take is the next question." Selean paused. "That was a long time ago." She typed. "I made a vow that I'd never sing again." "That I doubt." Kaimiri replied. |
"Have you heard of the ultimate shard before?" the entity asked.
"That I have no idea about. Days, weeks, months, years....." Atemu replied. "Selena, you gave up after what happened? That's not like you" Saharia said. |
Yusei nodded. "Yeah. I ran accross it in all the reading I've been doing." He replied. "It's supposed to be the one that controls the rest of them."
"Then you should spend a day in my shoes. You'd see why in a hurry." Selena typed her terse reply. "That's another mystery to solve then," Yugi said. He turned back to Yusei. "Why are you telling us this? Some kind of warning?" |
"Yes it is. If Ashleigh goes, you better work your butts off" Yusei replied.
"And I know who has it too" the entity replied. |
"I think we're already working our butts off." Yugi said. "Part of it is getting...." He trailed off.
"Yugi's wife, the Mutou woman?" Yusei asked. |
Ashleigh looked at her husband.
"Getting who?" she asked. "Bingo. It's once in 500 years that the shard appears." the entity replied. |
"Getting Yusei back." Aoi said, entering the room. She was wearing her kendo hakama. "I heard you were back to normal, so I decided to come in here and say hi. What I didn't expect was to see Yusei in here with angel wings."
Yusei smirked. "Looks like this is our only chance to get that Shard." He said. |
"Um, wrong Yusei. Our Yusei is still under Kaimiri's control. This Yusei comes from a different time where I come from with head sets to see holograms, trash robots and a special shrine of the Legendary Monsters" Yuai replied.
"So, how are we going to get her back" the entity asked. |
"I gathered that much. He looks older and needs a haircut." Aoi replied.
"I've got a few ideas in mind." Yusei replied, tapping his temple. "And don't you have another shard to retrieve? It appears that Sho Marufuji is missing from the dungeons." |
"You kidding me right? When Kaimiri gets the shard, he and others will come to Kaimiri" the entity replied as they continued watching the fight.
"Take that back Aoi!" Yusei snapped. |
"You do need a haircut, so I'm not taking it back." Aoi replied. "Especially since those spikes are starting to get a bit out of control."
Yugi sighed. I smell trouble. He thought. "And if he doesn't get it, then what?" Yusei asked. He sighed and shook his head. "You can't exactly do much now anyway, considering how you've been reverted to your normal form." |
"Considering that in Yuai's time, I'm dead" Yusei said.
"Oh she will come back. In 4 weeks in fact. Then D-Day will come around much more earlier than we planned" the entity replied, ignoring the part that she was back in her form. |
"....Oh." Aoi said, losing her momentum. An awkward silence followed.
"Well, I think that would count as hitting a soft spot." Neferhenta said. Yusei made a sound of agreement in his throat. "I discovered our little lack of Sho problem when I had to take Judai down there. It turns out he's got more control over Haou than we first thought." He said, changing the subject. "Don't worry, he isn't about to get loose. I made sure of that." "And why would that be, my son?" the dragon god asked. "Old man, let me be frank; you're getting senile." Kaimiri replied. "Face it; you're older than this planet. You outdate all the civilizations Earth has seen by more than anyone can imagine, as well as the realms attached to this one. It's about time you hand off the reins, so to speak." The ancient dragon god eyed Kaimiri angrily. "No. You are the one mistake, brat." He spat. "Need I remind you who brought you into existance!" He finished with a roar loud enough to shake the entire fortress. |
At that point, the entity and Yusei ran as their hiding spot collapsed.
"That was too close for confront. But I going in" it said and walked to the pair. "Sorry to interrupt but if you haven't realize it, the Ultimate Shard has appeared" it told the pair, taking their minds off what was at hand. "I knew it will shut her up. Anyway, Yuai, do you want to stay here and help? I can tell the crew back home on what you are doing" Yusei said. |
"I also have news of my own." Yusei said. "I've managed to secure Judai Yuki, though not in the method I was hoping."
"Excellent," Kaimiri said, shooting a death glare at his father. "What do you mean, Yusei, not in the way you were hoping?" "He managed to gain control over Haou almost as soon as he was in this realm." Yusei replied. "I used that to my advantage, as all he remembered was a duel and the wall collapsing." He smiled. "I made him believe he was to blame for the deaths of all his friends, even though he wasn't." "So now we have a catatonic duelist in our midst. How does this work to our advantage?" Kaimiri asked. Yusei tossed him a wristband. "When I took him to the dungeons I fitted him with a collar to drain his power. It's a device of my own creation." He replied. "That wristband harnesses the power drained away by the collar. As long as Judai is wearing the collar, the one wearing the wristband will be able to tap into the power of the Supreme King." "Excellent," Kaimiri said, strapping ont he wristband. He turned to the female entity. "Who is the Ultimate Shard?" |
"Well, you did had her and you tried every trick in the book to get her" it replied, "and apparently, she's coming back in 4 weeks time, just over a month."

"Ashleigh Mutou," Kaimiri said. "If I knew she was going to walk right into our fortress then I wouldn't have wasted all that time and effort. At least we'll have her."
Yugi stood. "I hate to do this, guys, but I've got to leave." He said. "Crow still needs work on keeping his aura from going out of control." |
"Woah, hang on here. All that effort wasn't a waste. You got her thinking that the only way for you to stop is to give up the shard. Meaning that you get an edge on D-Day" the entity said.
"I think we should all leave. After all, our girl needs her rest. She's stressed out like nobody's business" Atemu said, seeing Ashleigh yawn. "You got that right" Ashleigh agreed. "Any room for me?" Yuai asked. |
"I'm sure there is," Yugi replied. "Max and I can help you get a room here until you can get back to your own time."
Aoi stood up from the leaning perch she had on the door. "I guess I'll be seeing you guys all tomorrow then." She said. "By the way, Yusei, how long do I have to take your place as the Dragon's Head Signer? Honestly, I can't wait to give back Stardust and your power. No offense." "I guess you're right there." Kaimiri said. He narrowed his eyes. "Well, then. We'd better get ready to welcome our 'guest'." |
