"Can we please see him then?" Ruby asked. The doctor nodded and lead them to where Yugi was lying. He wasn't squirming as he was before but more like in a coma.
"This is bad. The poison too much damage, but a bombardment of healing is in order" Ruby said. |
"So you'll be able to help him?" Selena asked.

"Yes, I can. He will be scared for life for what he been through. if he has been dead for 4 days or more, the answer would've been no" Ruby replied.

Selena let off an inward breath of relief. "Will you need any help?" She asked.

"To get all medical staff out of the room. we don't need them" Ruby replied, "and hurry."

Selena nodded. "You heard her! Out!" She ordered the med staff. They nodded and left immedeatly at Selena's legendary glare. She'd just gone into Kamikaze Sakura mode, which would send just about anyone running. "I'll stay here at the ready if you need some extra power."

"Thanks" Ruby replied and walked over to her patient. She quickly examined him.
Aalmost all of his vital organs has already shut down but I be able to heal him. But I have to be in my angel form to do that" she said and pushed the gold button on her crimson bracelet. With a change of clothes, her bangs changed to a simple fringe and wings spread out of her back, Ruby was ready. She placed her hands on Yugi's body. After a few seconds, a flash of light filled the room. |
Selena shaded her eyes against the light. I hope this works, She thought.

Ruby concentrated harder and harder as her healing powers flowed through Yugi, making his stomich, liver and kidneys back online, but there was more damage to be healed.
Come on, work Ruby thought. |
Selena took her eyepatch off and placed her hands on top of Ruby's, pooling some of her own strength into Yugi. Together they got the rest of his organs functioning again, and healed the last of the damage that had been done.
"Looks like it worked," Selena said as Yugi began to come around. |
Ruby sat down in the chair, pushing her bracelet to the form she was before.
"That was exhausting" she said, "and that was my most difficult one I did to date." |
"What...?" Yugi mumbled.
"You're in the sickbay," Selena explained. "Ruby and I--" she nodded towards the redhead flopped in the chair "--just got done healing you. You nearly died from that poison Kaimiri injected into you." |
"If my friend here didn't come in time, you would've been way gone" Marcia replied.
"Well, I was originally here to talk to you about your wife and how I tried to talk the angels out of making her to be their secret weapon that you know about" Ruby replied, "we're not ready to have you on our team yet Yugi Motou." |
"Thanks for that, then." Yugi replied. "I'm not too hot on being on your team either. Not until this is over at least."

"Well, you aren't being called yet, not for a long shot" Ruby said, "I should know. I been there myself while scaring Marica in the process."
"You got that right" Marica said. |
"Huh? How?" Yugi asked.
"Ruby would've had the Demon Eye if I'd been killed by its death curse." Selena replied. "She had to have died before we were born, in order for her to be an angel." |
"Selena, I was with Marica when the curse hit me. So it was about 3-4 years ago when it happened. And I didn't know I was an angel. Only a handful knows they are angels before they been recruited" Ruby said.

"I didn't say you knew you were an angel," Selena replied, replacing the eyepatch. "But...that would make us of the same generation. Once someone with the Demon Eye dies, it waits until the next generation is born before it attaches to someone."

"And how old were you when you got it and how old are you now before you became immortal?" Ruby asked.

"I was born with it. All holders of the Demon Eye are born with it." Selena replied. "And I just became immortal...while I was helping to rescue Yugi."
"Wait--so you're...?" Yugi asked. Selena nodded. "I'm one step closer to breaking the death curse on this eye." |
"No wonder I wasn't born with it....but still had half the abilities, which is weird. I did my research when I knew something was wrong and it states, when the next holder is born while the current is still alive, the person acquires half the the abilities of the Demon Eye" Ruby said.

"Then what happens when the current holder becomes immortal?" Yugi asked. "What happens to the powers you have?"

"Then, there won't be more holders and all abilities will be stripped. And the current holder will be more respected as a god or goddess, depending on which gender has it at the time" Ruby said, "but I was dead before Selena became immortal so my powers was already stripped out when I died."

Selena sighed. "Just what I needed...god-status. Brilliant." She said, ruffling her reddish-brown hair. "How far does this immortality extend? Will getting shot in the head kill me, or just piss me off?"

"That depends on you when you decide when you done your time, thus the cycle begins again. But that is different when the curse is broken. It will happen every 1000 years" Ruby replied, "found that out when my group wanted to do more study on it."
