"Well, call him and find out" Ashleigh said, "It's best to find out now than leave it to the last minute."
Yugi nodded and pulled out his phone. He dialed Mahado's number and waited for the man to pick up.
Back at the federation, Mahado was doing what they were discussing when the phone rang.
"Hello?" he answered |
"Hi," Yugi said. "I'm at home with Yusei, Ruby, and Ashleigh, and there was something we were wondering."
"Oh, what is it?" Mahado asked as Mana was packing up.
"We were hoping that Mana would be able to take Aki on as an apprentice." Yugi replied.
"I will see" Mahado said and covered the reciever peice.
"Mana, would you like to train Aki?" he asked. Mana thought for a bit. "I can try teaching her the basics, but not the advanced training. She doesn't have an interest in this remember?" Mana replied. "I know that" Mahad said then spoke in the phone. "Mana will teach her the basics" he replied. |
Yugi nodded. "That's better than nothing," He replied. "As long as she has a foundation for using her magic, she'll be better off than having none at all."
"Yes, I heard of her incident with Melhana" Mahado agreed, "We can try the direct approach first and explain that Mana will try her best not to make it like hard work. If not, she will say should we do it just for fun so there won't be any pressure."
"In other words, no tests. Or at least, no obvious ones." Yugi said.
"Yes. Afterwards, we will let her decide if she wants to be a mage or not. We can't force her to become one" Mahado agreed, "She has enough stress already, and a resurrection to get over as well."
"Right," Yugi replied. "Selena is already going to be training her on the psychic side of her power. And I think we're all still reeling a bit from the resurrection."
"Well, I hope that Aki doesn't hurt her. Aki couldn't remember what happened. All she remembers is that Mel suggested to train her and thats about it. She reconed that Crow calmed her down, but I'm sure I can dig into it more and tell you more about that incident when I can. I talk you later" Mahad said.
"Right, see you." Yugi said, hanging up. "Well, it looks like Mana will at least teach Aki the basics. After that, it's up to her to decide if she wants to continue on and become a fully-fledged mage."
"That's good. We can't force people to become mages, because of Free Will" Ruby said.
"So, what now?" Ashleigh asked, "And how am I suppose to walk around with my legs cut and still bleeding?" |
"I'll take care of that," Gabriel said. He passed his hands over Ashleigh's legs, and they healed without any scars. "That should be fine now."
Ashleigh looked at Gabriel.
"No....no scars?" she asked, "How can that be?" "When you reach our level, you will know why since our power is so complex to explain" Lanchia said, "Since I'm the newest, I know what it feels like." "But you still didn't answer my first question" Ashleigh replied. |
"Now," Uriel said, fixing his eyes on Yusei, "Yusei Fudo has to finish reconciling with himself." Yusei started. "Do not be alarmed, or surprised. I can sense you are still doubting yourself, as I'm quite sure my comrades can."
"What...what do you mean?" Yusei asked. "You are still feeling guilt over what you did to Johan Andersen and Judai Yuki." Uriel said. "Do not worry, they are both fine now. But you must put those feelings of doubt and guilt aside. If you do not, then you will never be able to become all that you can." Yusei looked down and clenched his fists. "But....what if I turn bad again? What if I truly am evil?" He whispered. "What if...." What if I end up hurting everyone again? What if I lose control...and kill Aki by accident? |
"There is a possibility that could happen" Lanchia said, "but there is a way for stopping that. All you have to do is to finally banish the entity is to accept it was apart of you all along."
"WHAT???" Everyone said in usion. |
"You've got to be kidding me!" Yusei said. "That think took over my body!"
"We don't kid around Yusei. We do mean it" Lanchia said, "If you don't, you will do more harm than good and won't awaken your powers."
"If that's what it takes..." Yusei said. He could feel his mark tingling oddly. It wasn't warm like it normally was; it was as if it was made of tiny needles and they were all being stuck into his arm at the same time. "I...I won't let that thing take over again."
Yugi looked at Yusei in compassion. He's going through the same thing Atem did after he played the Orechalcos, he thought. |
"Keep going Yusei" Lanchia said, "Pharaoh Atemu went through the same thing when he lost Yugi and wouldn't stop, even after he found him till he faced his worse fear: anger and hatred towards other people. And that's what you have to face."
"so that's why Atem was quiet when I tried to ask him what's wrong" Ashleigh exclaimed. |
"Yeah," Yugi said. "It took him several months before he would even open up to me."
"Several months? You are kidding me right? he was fine with me in the begining" Ashleigh said, "and why is it effecting Yusei too?"
