"um....Sei, I think Selena is trying to speak to you mentaly. As I remember, it's called mindlink" Marcia said.
((Sei is my nickname for Yusei))

"Well, it's better than realying. Yana was teaching me how to do it. And you trust Selena" Macria said.

"Okay," Yusei said, lowering his mental barriers. If there was one thing that made him uncomfortable, it was leaving his mind unprotected against someone he didn't know.

'About time you go the message,' Selena said. 'And as for the answer to your question, I'm mute. That's why Yugi was speaking for me. I was using the mindlink to tell him what to relay to you guys.'

'How'd that happen?' Yusei asked.

'I'd rather not go into that.' Selena replied.

"So you're gonna duel alone after all," Keith said. "Going to try and be brave? Hm?"

Yugi retreived his duel disk from his runner. "No, I'm keeping my friends safe." he replied.

Keith activated his duel disk. It was pitch black and had a blade on the outer edge. That alone told Yugi that Keith was being controlled. "Well then, let's begin the Shadow Duel."

Meanwhile, back the the Omega headquaters, Ashleigh's condition was getting better than getting worse. Things was looking up.
Sadly, part of the curse still lives inside of her Aka was telling Melhana, don't blame yourself for it. what done is done.

'I'd try and at least use another spell that would negate it, but not right now.' Melhana replied. 'When she's recovered more, then maybe. I'd have to formulate a spell before I tried it, and it'd be a complicated one.'

Yugi activated his duel disk. Keith grinned. "I think I'll start," the older man said. He pulled some kind of pendant out of his pocket.

Yugi attempted to probe his mind. 'Be careful about that,' Selena warned through their mental link. Who knows what mendal booby traps they've set up in his head.' Yugi gave the mental equivalent of a nod and continued. His stomanch tightened when he found out how they were controlling Bandit Keith.

He was already dead.

Ok, but she could wake up at any moment so I advice is to start working on it Aka suggested. She knew that she and Melhana will get along fine.

'Whaddaya think I'm doing?!' Melhana replied. 'This is why I don't like using the dark side of my power...'


That's just wrong, Yugi thought in disgust. What's worse is that it's fresh too. He was alive until...about a few days ago?

'Yugi, what's wrong?' Selena linked.

'I feel like I'm gonna be sick,' Yugi replied. 'He's dead. They guy controlling Keith killed him first.'

A moment's hesitation, then, 'That's just plain wrong.'


Selena stopped her motor cycle to keep herself from barfing. Yusei and Marcia stopped as well when the noticed she wasn't with them anymore. "What's wrong?" Yusei asked.

Selena looked up, her face tinging green. 'I just found out from Yugi why Keith felt so wrong,' She linked to the teen. 'He's already dead.'

Yusei was visibly disturbed. "That's....I don't want to think about who'd do that.." He said.

Marcia felt sick and rode to a local toilet. She quickly locked the door and empied out. No, it's not what you thinking. Because of the vibes that she felt.

Keith--or his corpse; the thought still sickened Yugi--dropped the pendant, causing the crystal in the setting to break and realeasing a black fog. The feel of it was all too familiar to the mage: the Shadow Realm.

Here we go, Yugi thought as the fog enveloped him and what was left of Keith. The Shadow Game has begun.

"I draw," the corpse puppet said, drawing his (its?) card. "I play two cards face down and summon Piston in defense mode. End turn."

Yugi drew. "I play one face-down and set one monster in face-down defense position." He said. "I end."


Yugi's duel has finally started. Selena thought. Now that they're in the Shadow Realm it'll take more energy for me to retain contact with him. Looks like I'm not gonna be mindlinking him much.

Turning her attention back to Yusei, she replied, 'A sicko, that's who.'

Marcia rejoined the group.
"Sorry about that" she said, "I felt so sick because of the vibes I'm getting."

"I wouldn't blame you," Yusei said.


"My turn then," the puppet corpse said. It drew its card and grinned. "I'll play Downgrade, which reduces the level of any monster I chose by two levels. I pick this card; Slot Machine." The puppet played said monster in attack mode.

"And I'll get rid of your face-down monster with my Piston." It said, attacking. Yugi let the attack go through. "Now I'll attack with Slot Machine."

"No you won't." Yugi replied, activating the face down. "Activate Trap: Negate Attack!"

The puppet grinned. "Hehehe, you fell for it." It said. "My attack may be negated, but you'll still lose Life. I activate one of my face-downs; Double-Edged Sword! Starting from now, every trap activated will cost 300 Life Points to activate."

Yugi gritted his teeth. He had to pay the toll, but as he did so a searing pain shot through his leg. "GYAAAGH!!!" He screamed, falling to one knee. Looking down, he saw that part of his leg was gone. Taken by the shadows.

"Shocked?" The puppet asked. It cackled again. "It's different dueling without your partner to back you up, isn't it?"

Yugi froze. "How do you know about Atem?" he asked quietly.

The puppet stopped cackling, the maniacal grin still in place. "I know all about you, Yugi Mutou." It said. "But that's for annother time. I'll end my turn with another face-down card."

"What are we going to do Yusei and Selena? Should we go back?" Marcia asked.

"And you been in Shadow Duels before?? Yusei, if you haven't noticed, even the Neverworld uses the shadow realm to do it's deeds" Marcia replied, "and besides, we have to do something."

Yep. Around the time of the 5 Dragons, Crimson Dragon....and Pharaoh Atemu Marcia added, Hey, I did it! I can mindlink!

"Not according to Goodwin...he said around 5000 years" Marcia replied

Then a long black thing came out of nowhere and entered Marcia. Marcia was pleased. She regained her powers. She looked up and saw a figgure up on one of the buildings. She pursed her lips. Marcia mouthed thank you and the fairy flew away. It was the exact same fairy that appeared before.
"There is one way we can get into the shadows. I'm the fairy of darkness so I can enter without anything happening to me. If you stay by me at all times, I think you can enter" she said.

Selena bit her lip in hesitation. There was a good chance she'd be able to pass through without any problems herself, but Yusei...he was still a teenager. She knew he'd only dueled in the Netherworld, and that was nothing compared to the stress of the Shadow Realm. It could very easily kill him, and she didn't want to risk the life of one so young. Closing her eyes, she put the thought out of her head. Why am I debating this? I was dueling Shadow Duels when I was younger than him. She thought to herself. I was only fifteen when I played my first Shadow Game. It's an experience I'll never forget. She opened her eyes again. And no matter how much I hate to admit it, it's best that he learns what it feels like to be in the real Shadow Realm before he duels there. When he does, he'll be under far more stress than if he was only an observer.

'All right,' Selena said. 'We'll give it a go. But the second I feel something has gone wrong, we're getting out of there.' She directed her attention to Yusei. 'Yusei-kun, I won't force you to do this, but I'm giving you a warning now, before we go back; when you enter the Shadow Realm, it's nothing like the Netherworld. If you thought you experienced stress while dueling there, it's nothing compared to playing a Shadow Game. It sounds harmless, but it's far from it. Even if you're only a spectator, it could easily kill you. You'll be put under insane amounts of stress while we're in there. Marcia and I will be able to withstand it not only because of our own abilities, but because we've played Shadow Games before. She told him. 'You'll be risking your life in there, Yusei; we all will. Are you sure you want to go through with this? There's no guarentee your power will sustain you.'

Yusei hesitated, then kicked his runner back to life. "Let's do this. I'll take the risks." He said.

Selena nodded. 'Yugi, we're coming back. Marcia and I are going to try and enter with Yusei.' She linked. She didn't get a reply from Yugi, which worried her.

She kicked her own Harley back into life and set off after Yusei and Marcia. That idiot had better be okay, she thought.

A huge shadow ball stopped the three in their tracks.
"Ok, this is the last thing I'm going to do before my graduation and perfect harmony. You guys ready?" She asked. Then she chanted a spell. It was in a complete different language. A light surrounded Yusei and turned into a sphere.
"This is extra protection." she said.

((The miners are being brought back up!))

'I should be able to pass through without any trouble also,' Selena said. 'I'll be funnelling some of my strength into you as well. If you feel like the stress is getting to be too much for you, then let me know and we'll get you out of there.'

Yusei nodded. "Got it," he said. Looking into his eyes, Selena could tell that he was determined, but something even deeper than that; fear. He was beyond nervous about entering the Shadow Realm.

'I won't fault you for being afraid.' She linked to him.

'What the--how'd you know?' He linked.

Selena closed her eyes and smiled without humor. 'I know what it's like to enter the Shadow Realm for the first time.' She replied. 'It's terrifying, because you've got no idea what you're dealing with.' She hugged herself, gripping her upper arms sharply. 'I'll never forget the feeling of entering that place. I'm used to it by now, but I still hate it.'

"Lets go guys" Marcia said. With each other holding hands for support, they entered the shadow ball.....
