Atem sighed.
'And when I said summon it, I mean out in the open' he said |
'I'll try,' Yusei replied.
The entity grinned. "Well, if the pharaoh wants you to summon me in the open, then let's let him see, don't we?" It said. It raised an arm, which extended forward and gripped Yusei by the throat, and lifted him up off the ground. Yusei grabbed at the hand, struggling for breath. "I've actually been looking a bit foward to meeting him myself." Outwardly, one of Yusei's hands slowly rose. He opened his eyes; they were tinted red. "Hello, pharaoh." He said. "You said you wanted to meet 'me', right?" |
Atem raised his arm straight in front of him and cleatch his fist. Then like magic, was able to pull him out of Yusei's body. Yusei collasped.
"I rather face you in your true form" he said and threw the entity to the wall. |
The entity grinned. "You know, pulling me out of his body wasn't a very good idea." It said. "You do realize that I'd taken control, right? Without me in there, the kid's done for."

"I realized that" Atem replied, "I just want to have a good look at your true form before we fight. Now get back in or else I make you!"

"Make up your mind already," the entity grumbled as it returned to Yusei's body. The young man's eyes opened once the entity was back. "So, you're willing to risk this one's life." He got up, then let his aura flare. "Fine by me."
Within, Yusei was pinned. His eyes were blank and half-open, and his arms were pinned to the wall. His legs had already been consumed by the odd, semi-solid/semi-liquid substance. What's...happening? He thought. Where...am I? Who...am...I? |
"Better than nothing" Atem said as his mage staff appeared.
'Yusei, can you hear me? I can't win without you' he mindlinked. |
Yusei heard the voice as if from a great distance. 'Who...is that...?' He asked. 'I...I'm too weak...I can't....' He trailed off, not having the energy to keep the connection. Another tendril snaked up and over his chest.
The entity formed a sword from its aura. "Then let's begin this dance with death, shall we?" It asked. It lunged forward, aiming the katana at Atem's throat. |
Atem dodged it and came up behind the entity and blasted him, causing the entity to hit one of the walls.
'You're not weak Yusei. You think you are weak because you are believing that you are weak. You're the one who stopped the dark signers. You saved time and space and I know you are not weak. Believe that you are strong and you will become stonger' he said. |
The entity fell to the ground, a sore pain pulsing in its right side. "Damn," it said. It pooled its aura in its hand and let it flow along the ground as snakes. As they came into range, they wrapped themselves tightly around Atem's torso, pinning his arms to his sides. Another one wrapped around his leg, immobilizing it. A third came up behind him and bit into his neck, drawing his power from him.
"You feel that?" The entity asked. "That's your power being drained away. And it's not going to waste; it's bein channelled back into me." It smirked. "The power drain won't stop until I let it. And I don't think I'm going to do that anytime soon." The Dark Signers? Time and space? Yusei thought. Another tendril snaked up Yusei's torso, followed by another. A third wrapped around his neck. I...did all that? He sunk lower, now only his upper torso and head were free of the strange substance. If I did all that...then why do I feel so drained...? |
'You know the reason why. You are Yusei Fudo, leader of the Signers. You can overcome anything if you put your mind to it. Please hurry though, I don't know how long I can last' Atem replied as his strength was drained out of him.
"You barstard" he growled. |
The entity shrugged nonchalantly. "Call it what you like, but it's a legitamite strategy." It said. "I wonder, should I use your power against you...?"
Yusei...Fudo.... Yusei thought. He sunk deeper. That's...me? He felt cold. Finally, he sunk completely beneath the surface, and into oblivion. |
'YUSEI!!!' Atem cried. Then a huge surge of power went through and the tenticals melted. His eyes went completely gold.
"You will pay for what you did to Yusei" he growled. |
The entity yanked its hand back. It looked down; the skin was blistered and burned, but not as badly as it could have been. "So this is what you're like when you lose it." It said.
Yusei fell into the darkness. He felt like he ws floating in a liquid, but for whatever reason he wasn't worried about drowning. Everything around him looked like it was made of liquefied shadows. Is this what it's like to fade away? He thought. He felt weak...so weak....I...can't remember anything other than my name...and I'm barely hanging onto that. The he heard Atem's shout. Who was that? It sounded like he was in trouble, but...from what...? |
"You want a bet?" Atem growled, then sent an emergency mindlink.
'Yugi, I need you and Crow down at the gym now an hurry. I don't know how long till I actually loose control!' he mindlinked. |
'On my way!' Yugi linked back, putting the uniform down and racing out of the door. He sent a mindlink out to Crow. 'Meet me at the gymnasium. We may have to calm Atem down if he loses control.'
'Who's he fighting?' Crow asked. 'I don't know, but we'll find out soon enough.' Yugi replied. "Gladly," the entity replied. "Show me your full power, so that I can take it!" |
With the staff turned completely gold, Atem aimed it at the entity.
I'm sorry Yusei but I have to do this he thought and blasted the entity back towards the wall. |
The entity slammed into the wall, hard. It caughed up blood as it felt the boy's stomach rend open. He looked down and saw blood seeping through the shirt. D-damn... it thought.
Yugi heard a loud bang as he met up with Crow. "What was that?" the orange-haired teen asked. "I have a bad feeling about this...." Yugi said. |
"well, you wanted to see my full power" Atem said.

"That I did," the entity said. He looked up and grinned, a crazy madness in his eyes. "And I like it!"

'Yusei. Yusei! Can you hear me?' Atem linked, but no answer.
"What did you do to Yusei?" he growled. |
The entity shrugged. "Believe it or not, nothing." It said. "Not what I have done in the past, anyway. I only responded to his summons."
Yusei was floating in the liquid shadows. 'Yusei!' He heard someone shout from a distance. Who was that? He thought. What's going on? I'm so weak...and so sore...what's happening...? 'BRO! WAKE UP YOU DUMBASS!!!' Another voice, almost identical to his own, shouted. 'Geez Loueez, snap out of it!' Who are you...? Yusei thought. 'Your twin! Now snap out of it!' The voice snapped. 'Aren't you the head of the Signers?!' The head...of the Signers...? Yusei thought. A mark on his arm tingled. |
"I don't believe you" Atem growled, "give me one good reason why I should."

The entity spread its arms. "I'm not using my full power, that's why." It said. "I can't unless the boy is truely under my control."
As the mark on his arm tingled, memories began to trickle into Yusei's mind, then they all came in a torrent. I...AM the leader of the Signers! He thought. And that...I duelled against Paradox with Yugi and Judai.... |
"If you are so sure of yourself, try and hit me" Atem urged.
