"I guess it's have to be related to you since you are working Jack way too hard. Now Kaimiri is on his trail because of you" Atem said.

Yusei nodded and listened. Jack...don't listen to him! He urged mentally.
"What?!" Melhana said. "Damn it...C'mon, I've got a nasty feeling that's the aura we're picking up." And with that she started towards Jack's quarters. "Jack...anyone who would throw you by the wayside so easily is not your friend." Kaimiri said. He held out a hand. "Come with me. I guarentee, you won't be ignored on my side." I've got him. He's doubting himself, and his friends. |
"You better hurry! There isn't much time left" Atem called behind her.
Ruby took a few steps back. "No....Jack can't be the one who's going to betray us" she said. |
"Why else do you think I'm running?" Melhana called back.
"I'm not going to let that happen." Yusei said. "Jack! Open the door! Don't listen to that creep!" Jack turned. "Yusei?" He asked. "What the hell?" Kaimiri laughed. "They only want to hold you back, Jack." He said. "They know that unless they do, you'd be able to beat them all. Including Yusei." "Jack, don't listen to Kaimiri! He's trying to get you to join his side!" Yusei said from the other side of the door. "Yusei...." Jack said quietly. Is what Kaimiri's saying true? Are my friends really trying to hold me back? |
"Yusei's right. Don't listen to him. He's trying to make you confused. Don't give into him" Ruby cried.

"Just shut up!" Jack replied. Yusei backed away from the door.
"Jack..." He said. He set his face. "Fine. Then if you won't let us in, I'll go ahead and open the door for you." He pointed two fingers at the doorknob and muttered a word in sanskrit. A tendril of dark blue aura snaked into the lock and unlocked the door. He opened the door and entered the room. "Jack, don't do this!" He said. "What Kaimiri's saying isn't true, and you know it!" |
Ruby stayed silent.
Why does it have to be Jack? she thought. |
"Then prove it," Jack replied. "Prove that you and the others aren't holding me back."
"Jack, all the proof you need is on your arm." Yusei said. He held his forearm up. "You're a Signer, Jack. Added to that, you're a friend. If there's one thing I would never do, it's hold you back." Jack gritted his teeth. "I've heard enough, Yusei." He said. "If that's the best you've got, then I'm leaving." He started towards Kaimiri. "Jack!" Yusei said. He tried to follow his friend, but was blocked. Damn, a web. He thought. "Jack, listen to me! None of use have been holding you back, least of all me!" "No, you listen Yusei." Jack replied, turning. "I don't care if I'm a Signer or not, but it's a load of shit if you think I'm just going to stay here and be held back from the power I deserve. Unlike you, I'm leaving of my own free will." He turned back. "I'll see you at the last battle." Yusei only watched as his friend left. "Jack...no...." He whispered. Kaimiri smiled and opened a portal. "You made the right choice, Jack Atlas." he said. Jack didn't reply. Yusei could only watch as his friend--no, his foster brother left through the portal with Kaimiri. |
"This is bad. We gotta to tell Max now" Ruby said, "We're nothing without Jack."

What she said didn't fully register to Yusei. He fell to his knees, still staring at the spot the portal had been in shock. No way.... He thought. No fucking way....we just lost one of our strongest duelists.....
At the same time Melhana and Atem arrived. "What happened?" Melhana asked when she saw Yusei on his knees and staring into space. |
"Jack betrayed us" Ruby replied, "The Arch Angels said this will happen, but I never knew it was Jack" Ruby replied.

"Damn," Melhana said. She walked over to Yusei and put a hand on his shoulder, kneeling beside him. "Hey, Yusei, back to reality. You all right?"
Yusei started. "Yeah, I'm fine." He said, standing. |
That event ruffled everyone but was overshadowed by another the next day, which both girls (Ashleigh still in the cloak) was allowed to attend.
"I just hope that Kaiba's body can accept the new arm" Ruby said. |
"You and me both." Melhana said as she watched Max work. Kaiba was laying on his stomach as Max worked on getting the arm attached.
"How long did you say this would take again?" Kaiba asked. "Only about ten minutes." Max replied. |
"Any reason why we are here?" Ashleigh asked, wondering why if there is some point in all of this.

"To help Kaiba through the pain of getting a new arm." Melhana replied with a smirk.
"Shut up, Ankh." Kaiba growled. |
"Oh great. What about you girl?" Ashleigh resorted and turning her head away in a huff.

"Easy girl," Melhana said. "Jack betrayed us."
"What?!" Kaiba demanded, twisting around. "Stay down!" Max said, pushing the CEO back onto the bed. |
"Just hurry up already" Ashleigh snapped. That made everyone lost for words.

Max even paused in her work and looked over. "What's wrong, Ashleigh?" She asked.

Ashleigh didn't respond. something was totally up.
"you have to tell us what's wrong" Ruby said. |
"Yeah," Melhana said. "Right now you're worse than Selena when she's PMSing."
"I didn't need to hear that." Kaiba grumbled. "OOps, forgot you were there." Melhana deadpanend. "Screw you." |
"Just let her be" Atem sighed, poking his head around the door.
"Why should we?" Ruby asked. |
"Does this have something to do with what the arch angels told you?" Max asked.
