"Yep" Ruby said, "Don't worry Ashleigh, everything will work out in the end."
"You sure?"Ashleigh asked. |
"We're sure," Melhana said. "By the way, I've got a question for you, Ashleigh."

"Fire away" Ashleigh said.

"Will you be my maid of honor?" Melhana asked.
"Here we go with the mushiness...." Kaiba grumbled. "Oh shut up you." |
Ashleigh gasped.
That was out of the blue she thought. "Sure, ok" she replied. |
Melhana grinned. "Thank you!" She said, giving the girl a hug. "Ryo and I are getting married in two weeks."

Ashleigh hugged her back.
"You're welcome" she said. Ruby looked at her. "You kidding right?" she asked, "Are you forgetting something?" |
"What do you mean?" Melhana asked.
"Oh, I don't know...Ashleigh getting her heart ripped out, maybe." Kaiba said sarcastically. |
"You sure that's a good idea to actually have the wedding in two weeks time?" Ruby asked, glaring at Kaiba for not saying it more nicely.

"It's just...." Melhana said, fiddling with her hands. "Ryo's condition...it's gotten worse. You see, he's got a weak heart, and while keeping active has helped keep him alive, there comes a point with this disease he has where that activity stops being beneficial. It doesn't make it worse either; it jsut flatlines, I guess."
"And the point of this is?" Max prompted. "The reason Ryo and I want to have the wedding so early is because his heart has gone past both points." Melhana said. She was fighting back tears. "Now...his heart is so fragile, anything too strenuous like sports or working out, or even training his apprentice, could kill him." |
"We could postpone D-Day for 2 extra weeks" Ashleigh replied, "I don't want to miss this for the world."

"But then what about Kaimiri?" Kaiba asked. "For all we know, he could have taken who knows how many of the shards."
"He has a point..." Max said, "but the mages who are right now in training...Atem, how far along would you say Yusei is?" |
"He's not far off from starting the advance lessons. He came a long way in a very short time, both in magic and in sword fighting" Atem replied, "And before you ask, yes he now has a sword and no, I have no idea how he got it or where he got it from."

"Hm..." Melhana mused. "Has he summoned his ka at all?"

"Yes, when he was battling his entity. Very impressive I say" Atem said, "All he needed was to talk to someone to push him in the right direction."

Melhana nodded. "I take it he's still beating himself up over what happened with Kaimiri?"

"Actually no. It seems that he's actually moved on" Atem replied, "Reason why of his progress is going so well."

Melhana smiled. "That's good." She said. Just then Selena poked her head into the room.
"Hey guys. Looks like Senior Asshole has both arms again." She said. "Do you enjoy insulting me or somethign?" Kaiba asked. Selena mock-thought for a second. "Yep. That, and watching Honda blow your head off with a plasma grenade in Halo." She replied. |
Ashleigh giggled.
"I'm really going to miss this guys" she said, as a tear slid from her face. |
Melhana took out a hankercheif and handed it to Ashleigh. "Here, to dry your eyes." She told the girl. "Oh, and I'm QUITE sure we all remember the time Selena nailed Jonochi with an RPG to the nuts."
With that, Selena ducked out of the room, laughing her butt off. "Please tell me that's not a true story." Max said. "It is." Melhana confirmed. "I got the video to prove it." |
Ashleigh laughed as she dried her eyes.
"Show it. It probaly was when I wasn't around" she said. |
"It's on YouTube." Melhana said. "Just search 'Idiot gets his nuts blown off by an RPG'."
"Can we stop talking about blowing peoples balls off? There are men in the room." Max said. "So?" Melhana asked, smirking. |
Time went past until 4 days before D-Day. Rua finally learn to aim properly and the twins was finally ready to summon their kas. Yugi still didn't know that Ashleigh was still in the building. Kaiba got way used to his new arms, and the girls tried out their dresses for the wedding. In oblivion, Dark Ashleigh was successful in her battles and Jack was happly enjoying himself wreaking havoic on other people.

"I presume you enjoy your new power?" Kaimiri said one day while Jack was training.
"No. I love it." Jack replied. He'd reduced the provided targets to dust and ash. He was wearing an outfit that was almost identical to his normal, except for the fact that the white had been replaced with black. "I was wondering, would it be at all possible to arrange a sparring match?" "Of course," Kaimiri replied. "I take it you want to test your power on an actual person?" Jack nodded. "I'll let you know when I find an opponent for you." "Now, clear your mind." Yugi said. Ruka nodded, her eyes closed. "Good. Keep your mind clear, and your ka will show itself." Kiryu parried Bakura's strike. Immediately the older man whirled around and came at him with another strike. Again, Kiryu blocked the sword. "Excellent!" Bakura said. He activated his aura; indigo with the scent of jasmine tea. "Now, see if you can block this!" He formed a kunai out of his aura ans launched it at Kiryu. Kiryu responded by sending a bolt of power at the kunai to counterattack. The flying blade exploded on contact with the bolt, and continued on it's course as several smaller blades. Damn, Kiryu thought, weaving a web to catch the blades. "hah!" He laughed. "Looks like I won." "Not so fast," Bakura said, snapping. The blades exploded, the blast sending Kiryu into the wall. He groaned and pushed himeself up on his elbows. As he did so, Bakura was advancing on him. Quickly. Crap! Kiryu thought. I don't have any time to set up for a block or weave web of magic to counter. As he thought that, Bakura froze, a curious look on his face. "Bakura?" He asked. The older man suddenly dropped his sword and clutched at his heart. "Bakura!" Kiryu shouted, running to his mentor's side. Bakura collapsed to his knees. "Are you all right? What's happened?" "Call....sickbay...." Bakura wheezed out. He passed out, and fell to the ground. "Bakura!" Kiryu shouted. He ran to the wall comm and punched the button for sickbay. "Get down here! Bakura's just collapsed in training room 3!" |
"Hey, you two. When are you two going to leave to get the shard?" Dark Ashleigh called.
Rua did the same thing as Ruka. He began to see something formed as a dragon. "I'm seeing a dragon forming" he said. |
