Uriel nodded in agreement. "Yugi, with your permission, I would like to perform a procedure to help with the grief and guilt." He said.
"What kind of...procedure?" Yugi asked. "It will dull some of the feelings and make them easier to manage," Uriel replied. "I do too, if only for Ashleigh's sake." Gabriel replied. |
"It's worth a try Yugi" Atem agreed, "Even I would've agreed to do it. Arch Angels are really delicate with this."
A few days later, Ashleigh got used to be dead and was ready to face her first day of training. She was just finishing cleaning up after breakfast when the door knocked. "Come in" she called. Gabriel came in, Ruby following after. "Morning you two" the angel girl said. |
"All right then," Yugi said. "Do it."
Uriel nodded and placed his hand on the side of Yugi's face, his fingers spidering out. "Let your mind go blank, Yugi Mutou." "Good morning." Gabriel replied. "Are you well?" |
Atem felt Yugi looking at him.
"In other words, clear your mind of any thought" he said. "I'm really well thank you" Ashleigh said, "I'm totally over being dead." |
"Right," Yugi said, closing his eyes and dropping his mental barriers. He felt Uriel's mind entering his own, and resisted the urge to right him off.
"Then you should be ready to start your training." Gabriel said. "Ruby is going to be your mentor." |
I just hope it works Atem thought.
"Say what?" Ashleigh exclaimed. "That's right, plus I'm the only one you know around here" Ruby replied, "I be honoured to teach you." |
Several minutes later, Uriel opened his eyes and pulle dhis hand from Yugi's face. "How are you feeling now?" He asked.
"Much better." Yugi replied. "Thank you, Uriel." "The first half of your training will take place under hte direction of Ruby." Gabriel said. |
"Yep, but first off, we have to create a disguise for you for your fieldtrips, which is going to be on another side of the world. Some will be outings, and it's not all about hanging out" Ruby explained.
"Thank you for your help Uriel, but what about Yana?" Atem asked. |
"Lanchia can help you with that," Gabriel said. "She's more...fashionably inclined than myself."
"I came here to help her as well," Uriel replied. "Do you know where she is?" |
"That's right. All angels are required to have a cover when they are going to earth" Ruby replied.
"She must be in the other room, still with the body" Atem said. |
Gabriel nodded. "Even the arch angels have one, though many of us haven't used our covers for many years."
Uriel nodded. "I will go check on her then." He said, and dissapeared in a flash of light. "Is it even healthy for her to still be with...?" Yugi asked once Uriel had left. "Mel," Selena said after a moment. "I have another bit of bad news..." "What is it?" Melhana asked. "Ashleigh...was killed by Kaimiri." |
"I see" Ashleigh said.
"No, it's not. She should stay away from the room" Atem replied. |
"I see," Melhana said, turning her eyes back to Bakura. "I hope...she's back for the wedding."
"I know," Yugi said. "I hope that Uriel can get her out of there....I don't think I would." Uriel reappered in the room with Ashleigh's body, and her daughter sitting next to it. "Yana Mutou," He said softly. |
"Neither" Atem agreed.
Yana quickly turned to see an angel in the room. "W---w---who are y---y---ou?" she stammered. |
"I am Uriel," Uriel replied. "One of the arch angels."
Selena squeezed Melhana's shoulder. "C'mon, let's go check up on Yugi." She said. "Bakura will make it, I'm sure of it." Melhana smiled and nodded. "Yeah, you're right." She said. |
"W---what do you want?" Yana asked.
|
Uriel raised his hands in a placating gesture. "I'm only here to help you through the grieving process." He said. "Also, you really should leave the room."
|
"Why should I? I want to stay by Mum's side' Yana demanded.
|
"Yana," Uriel said, "It isn't healthy. Believe me, I've been there."
|
"Just leave me be! I don't care if I get sick or not, all I want is for mum to come back" Yana snapped.
|
"Yana, you won't get sick. Not in the physical sense, at least." Uriel said. "It will harm your soul. Irreperably, possibly."
|
"I don't care! i want mum back now!" Yana said and formed a dark blue orb.
|
Uriel passed a hand through the air, causing the orb to dissipate. "Yana Mutou, you will see your mother again, but you must calm yourself." he said. "She is right now undergoing training as an arch angel. When the time is right, she will return, but you must be patient."
|
"No, I want her back NOW! I don't want her to become an angel" Yana snapped, "now, leave me alone or I make you leave."
|
"Yana Mutou, listen to reason and stop acting like a child!" Uriel said firmly. "I have nullified your powers. You cannot use them against me. Would it have been better if this fate was destined to your father?"
