"Apparently your yami is an angel as well," Uriel replied. "It would help to know how she came into existance, though. She wasn't with you since you were born, that I can tell." "And did you ever stop to think of all the people who are going to die in this campaign?" Jack asked. Kaimiri chuckled. "Jack, are you going soft?" He asked. "No." Jack replied. "I don't care what happens to them." At the same time, he felt a pain shoot up through his right arm from his Signer mark. He did his best to hide it, but his hand still gave an involuntary twitch. |
"Man I'm good!" Atem said.
"She was born from my soul" Ashleigh replied, "Melhana helped to make the process smooth as possible but came off at the wrong foot." "That's right" Aka agreed. "Ok, we will see you in 8 hours. For now you are dismissed" Dark Ashleigh replied. |
"I think we also remember how the poor guy stuttered...." Selena said. She patted a hand on Yugi's shoulder. "I swore he was going to pass out."
"We're getting off-topic." Kaiba interjected. "So you can end your trip down memory lane anytime." "I'm presuming you and Akatenchi did not see eye to eye when you first realized she was there?" Uriel asked Ashleigh. "I have one last question, though." Jack said. "Why are you giving them the home turf advantage?" Kaimiri smiled. "Because it will make my victory that much more complete." he replied. |
"I think that is a good idea" Atem agreed.
"We did see eye to eye in the beginning. Melhana, not so much" Ashleigh replied. Dark Ashleigh nodded. "So you better prepare for the fight" she said. |
"Right," Max said, bringing up a map on the projector screen at the end of the table. "Right now, this is where we think Kaimiri's forces will come out in Old Domino. There's probably more. These are just the places that are most likely going to be where his portals will form."
Johan whistled. "That's a lot hot spots." He said. "How many of Kaimiri's goons are supposed to be coming through?" "Honestly, we don't know." Max said. "But even a quarter of Kaimiri's forces would outnumber ours, even with our non-combatants." "I guess it's a good think we're fighting with the home field advantage, then." Crow said. Max nodded. "But, Jack is on Kaimiri's side now. That means that he'll no doubt be showing Kaimiri the lay of the land, and helping him become familiar with Old Domino." "I see," Uriel replied. "Unfortunately, we won't be able to send you back until shortly after the fighting starts." Jack nodded. "Just let me know when we're leaving." He said, and walked out of the room. That little conference was pointless. |
"Which we all have to be really careful. Yusei, do you mind we use your hideout as an HQ for tomorrow?" Atem asked.
"You kidding me right?" Ashleigh asked. Dark Ashleigh took off the engagement ring and gave it to Kaimiri. "Whatever happens to me, I want you to hold onto it" she said. |
Yusei nodded. "Go ahead," he replied. "Need me to tell you where it is?"
Uriel shook his head. "No, I'm afraid. The reason we have to wait is that's when Kaimiri is opening up his portals to send his forces into the world of life, which means he'll be weakening the boundaries between the worlds." "Are you sure?" Kaimiri asked. |
"That would be cool" Rua exclaimed.
"Oh" Ashleigh said. "Anyway, Ashleigh here is on a verge on graduating from normal and guardian angel training" Ruby said, "after the battle, Gabriel will take over." "I'm sure" Dark Ashleigh said, "but what's disturbing is that what your father said." |
"You're staying here." Selena told him. "You and Ruka are both too young for this."
"We're coming with." Ruka said. "If we weren't going to be in this fight, then why'd Yugi even bother training us?" "Good," Uriel replied. "And remember, Ashleigh Mutou, once your training with Gabriel is finished, you will have a choice to make." Kaimiri nodded. Disturbing is not the word... he thought. *flashback* "Father, what are you saying?!" Kaimiri demanded. "That our suspicions are right? That Dark Ashleigh truely is from the Dark Abyss?!" "Yes, you fools!" The ancient god replied. "And I will have her destroy it, one way or another. Oh, and by the way, Kaimiri, that curse I told you about? It's only limited to you." "You...you bastard!" Kaimiri shouted. "You sick monster...." Kaimiri's father laughed. "If I'm a sick monster, that must make you one as well, my son!" he laughed. "After all, you were the one who turned the Dragon's Head Signer into a fiend, and then seduced one of his closest friends to our side when he was turned back." |
"And you kept that away from me for 18 years?" Dark Ashleigh asked, "Then what's my true name and statis?"

"You are Amelia, Princess of the Dark Abyss." The dragon god said. "And you will be the destroyer of your realm."
*end flashback* "I'm still sickened by it." Kaimiri said. |
"But I will never do it to my people! I will not destroy my home" Dar- I mean Amelia replied.
"I know. Stay here or go back to the world of life" Ashleigh replied "Selena, they're coming with us, like it or not" Atem said, "Max and myself already discussed that. They will stay at the HQ as back up." |
Selena hesitantly nodded. "Fine then," She said. "Hopefully, we won't need that backup."

"So we all meet here before we head to Satellite then?" Atem asked.

"It might be best if we all head to Satilite over the next eight hours." Yusei replied. "Max, can you zoom in on the northern district?"
Max nodded and zoomed in. "Right. Now, highlight the first subway entrance after streetlight at Yozuka and Ringu." She did so. "I know where that is!" Selena said suddenly. "It's not that far from the old high school! Only a few blocks away." Yusei blinked. "Right. Okay, that entrance isn't used all that much anymore, but jumping the gate is really easy. That old subway station is where my old hideout is, and since you guys already know where to find the entrance, it saves a lot of directions." He said. "Crow, Kiryu, Ruka, Rua, Aki and I will head there first. The rest of you can come in groups over the hours until the fighting starts." "And the smaller the groups, the better." Max said. "Attracting Kaimiri's attention is the last thing we need. Melhana, would you be able to provide everyone with disguises?" Melhana nodded. "It's a simple charm that I can weave into a bracelet or a pendant or something." She said. "It won't be able to mask auras though. That'll be a bit more difficult and time-consuming, and time's something we don't have." |
"I think that's a great idea" Yana said, then noticed Gabriel in the corner.
"EEEK!! Another Angel!" she excaimed. Atem facepalmed. "What's with you and angels?" he asked. |
"Apparently she gets really excited with them." Judai said, sweatdropping.
"Everyone," Gabriel said, not bothering to use everone's names. "There are a few...bequeaths I have to hand to some of you." "What are they?" Max asked. Gabriel held up his hand. Three long, thin boxes and three smaller, rectangular ones appeared in the air above his hand. "Three swords, and three pistols. Unfortunately, one of the sword-bearers is not here." "Who gets what?" Max asked. Gabriel let the boxes set on the table. "Judai Yuki, Yusei Fudo, Yugi Mutou; you will each be the recipients of a pistol." He said. "They do not fire ordinary bullets, but projectiles of your aura, hardened and concentrated." The three pistol boxes slid towards their recipients. "Seto Kaiba, Ryu Marufuji, you are both meant to weild demon swords; Murasame Blades." "I've heard about those." Yugi said, opening the box of the pistol. It looked normal enough, just like Selena's Glock. "Aren't they supposed to possess the person who weilds them." "Correct." Gabriel replied. "However, you two--" he indicated Kaiba and Ryu "--have an unusual gift. You are both immune to their soul-possessing power. You will only be possessed when you permit it." "Hmph." Kaiba took the sword from its case. He read the kanji on the sheath. "'Hakkyou'...madness, in English." "Saika..." Ryu said, reading the name of his own blade. "Who is supposed to have the third?" "Jack Atlas," Gabriel replied. "His blade is named Zatsume, which I believe means 'death' when translated into English. However, as he is not here, there is no way to get the blade to him." "I'll take it." Yusei said. He'd already strapped the deadly-looking pistol to his belt. "I know I'll have to be careful around that thing. If it possesses the one who weilds it, then I won't draw it." "Yusei, are you sure that's a good idea?" Judai asked. "I intend on going after Jack anyway." Yusei replied. "It's the best bet we have to get it to him." |
Yana looked outside the 'window' and sighed. Gabriel placed an hand on her sholder. She quickly turned her head around and was surprised when the Arch Angel handed her a staff. It was carved out of Rimu wood with a blue sphere on top, encased around it was more carved Rimu.
"For me?" she asked. |
"Yes," Gabriel replied. "The stone is the color of your aura; midnight blue. It will help you channel your power."

"Who made it?" Yana asked, confused.

Gabriel squeezed her shoulder. "Someone who knows your mother." He replied.

"Wait! You mean Aka?" Yana asked.
|
Gabriel nodded. "Now, I must be returning to the angelic plane." He said. "I assure you all, Ashleigh will be fighting alongside all of you, one way, or another."
