"No need to thank," Gabriel replied. His wings began to glow. "That gift is from your mother's yami, not me. I wish you all luck in this last battle." And with that, he wrapped his wings around himself, completely covering his form. They then disintigrated in pale green feathers, taking the arch angel with them as he transported back to the plane of the angels.
Selena took a wary look at the sword Kaiba had been entrusted with. He had carefully replaced it in its box, knowing full well what it was capable of. I'm kind of glad he's the one weilding that thing. She thought. With how powerful a psychic I am thanks to the Demon Eye, I hate to think what would happen if I were to draw that sword. |
"So, should we head off?" Atem asked.

Max nodded. "Those of you who are familiar with Old Domino, I'll be assigning you each to teams that will include those of us who are not. The first group will follow Yusei after an hour, and the second group a half hour after that, and so on so that each group meets there at random times."
Yusei nodded. "I'll get going then." He said. Crow stood as well. "I guess we'll all be seeing you in an hour." And with that the Signers left the room. "So we know the plan, we have a combat HQ, and we know where it is." Otogi said. "All we need now is to split us all up so that nobody gets lost." Max nodded. "Right. And I already know for a start that some of you will be better off in seperate groups. Judai and Johan are a perfect example." "What?!" The two young men in question asked in unison. "Why?!" "You guys aren't exactly quiet when you get together." Sora said, crossing your arms. "Good gawd...having just ONE Judai is bad enough." "Seconded." Jun deadpanned, raising his hand. Sora stomped on his foot under the table. "Yeow! What in hell?!" "Nobody asked you, nitwit." Sora said. |
"Right then, let's go" Atem said, "We don't want to waste any time at all."

Max nodded. "Right." She said, then set to work assigning everyone to their "guides." When she was done, the list went as follows:

Yana looked at the list.
"What about the rest of us?" she asked, eying Rua as she said it. |
"Rua and I are going with Aki-chan," Ruka replied. "We already decided on that earlier."
"And I knew talking them out of it would be pointless." Max replied. "Yana, I'd like to send you along with Aki as well." |
Yana nodded.
"For mum's sake" she replied. |
"For her sake," Max agreed, her face softening at the thought of her niece. "Now, the first group heads out in 45 minutes. Once they're gone, the next group will get the time they head off at."

8 hours has passed and everyone was ready to go.
"Are you ready to fight Jack?" Amelia asked. |
Jack nodded. "More than ready." He said. He patted an evil-looking dagger at his hip. "And a certain someone is going to meet his end."
"Are you sure you want to go through with this, Yusei?" Yugi asked. Yusei nodded. "I'm sure." He replied. "I have to take on Jack myself, plain and simple." |
"I hope we don't loose you again" Aki said, "this time, for good."
"Right, lets go" Amelia said. I'm going to do something, that even Kaimiri would hate she thought. At the departures, Uriel caught up with Aka (with yet another makeover), Ruby and Ashleigh. "Everyone ready?" Ruby asked, noticing the arch angel walking up to them. |
Jack nodded as Kaimiri arrived. "I believe you're both ready." The god said.
"Let's do this." Jack said. Kaimiri smiled and opened a portal to the target dimention. The last battle had begun. "I won't, Aki. I'll make sure of it." Yusei said. He leaned in. "Can we talk, in private?" he whispered in her ear. "We don't have much time until the beginning of the battle." Max said. "I've gotten everyone set up to their individual stations. I've given them all permission to use any force nessicary." Uriel stepped up behind the three women. "I presume you know about the battle," he said. |
"Lets do this" Amelia said.
"um, sure" Aki replied, confused why he whispered it. "Yes, but not how it's set up" Aka replied. |
As Max was speaking, Yusei led Aki off to just outside of the room. "Aki, I..." He began, his voice cracking. "I...I'm scared," he said quietly. He looked down as he felt something warm and wet threaten to run down his cheek. "I'm afraid...I won't be able to come back, or that I'll lose control of my power. Or that...." Or that I'll end up having to kill Jack he thought finally, as a single tear fell from his eyes and onto the ground.
"I have the portal open," Kaimiri said. "Once you two are through, I'll begin sending the armies through, and then I'll join you. Jack," the turbo duelist looked up. "I want you to go after Yusei." Jack grinned. "My pleasure." He said with an evil glint in his eye. "Why do you say that?" Uriel asked. |
"Yusei" Aki said quietly. Then she kissed him, to calm him down.
"Come on Jack, lets go" Amelia said, and the two walked though the portal. "Max has some kind of plan to take Kaimiri down" Ashleigh explained, "and we have no idea how it's layed out." |
Yusei was caught off-guard as Aki placed her lips against his. For a moment he was shocked, not knowing what do to. The next, he accepted her kiss and responded in kind, and drew her into an embrace. After what felt like a long time, he pulled away and rested his forehead against hers. "Aki, I...." He whispered. "I....I love you, even though that sounds really lame."
Jack breathed in the familiar air of Satillite, his birthplace, when he and Amelia were on the other side. He was home. "Let's get this show on the road, then." He said. "That is problematic," Uriel said. "You will have no choice but to track her down and find out the plan that way. I do have the ability to look into another's mind and find what they hold there, but it's something I wold rather not do." |
"I love you too Yusei, now and for always" Aki replied.
"I let you go loose Jack. I'm going to find someone" Amelia said. "Right. First off, find Max, then go into battle" Ashleigh said. |
"Who're you looking for?" Jack asked.
Yusei ran a hand through the girl's short, burgundy hair. "If I don't come back...." He said, and his voice caught again. "If I don't come back...remember that, please. And no matter what, live your life." |
"Never you mind" Amelia snapped.
Aki nodded. "I will" she said. |
"Fine then," Jack said, firing up his D-Wheel. I already know where Yusei is going to go, too. he thought.
Yusei could only nod. His voice was suddenly caught in this throat. I could really die this time, he thought. His hands started shaking. He gripped Aki just a little closer to try and hide it. I'm more than just scared right now...I'm terrified. |
I'm sorry Jack, but even you must not know what I'm about to do Amelia thought and ran, with tears running down her face.
"So, should we head off now?" Aka asked Uriel. |
"Yes," Uriel replied. "The battle is starting."
Suddenly, the whole place shook. Yusei looked up. "Damn," he muttered. "They've started attacking." Jack sped off to the Daedalus Bridge, or the Bridge to Nowhere as he used to call it. And now to wait for Yusei. He thought. |
"Good, because there is someone I want to talk to" Ashleigh replied. Then the three girls left the angel world.
"Then you better go" Aki said. "EEEK!!!" Yana yelped as the hideout shook. |
Yusei nodded as the hideout shook again. "Be safe," He said, and planted another kiss on her forehead before rushing off.
"I'll meet you guys on the upside. I'm going after Jack." Yusei said. With that he fired up his D-Wheel and set off down the old subway tunnel. Jack, I'm coming to get you back. He thought. Yugi looked up. "Yana, stay calm." He said, looking back to his daughter. "I'm pretty sure we're safe for now." "We'd best get out there." Selena said, loading her pistols. Yugi nodded. I just hope we all come back. he thought. |
