"Just watch out for the blood puddle there Sakura. Sombody puked up blood" Anzu said.
"It wasn't me!" Ashleigh said. "Kamikaze Sakura, it's a priverlage to meet you at last" Mahad said. I knew Melhana would find out about Yugi he thought. ((something Akiza would've worn, it would suit her so well)) |

Sakura looked up. "Atem told me about you." She said. "The name was Mahado, wasn't it?" she did a three-quarter's bow. "The honor's truely mine. It isn't every day that one meets someone as ancient--not to mention powerful--as you." Melhana narrowed her eyes. Something's off about her, she thought. |
"I'm flattered" Mahad said.
"I hate to break it up, but I need some time alone" Ashleigh said. |
Melhana nodded, the left the room. When the four of them were out of the room, Melhana asked, "Any of you have any idea what happened to Yugi?"

"Well, this thing killed Bandit Keith and used him as a puppet. He challenged Yugi to a duel and well....that's the result. Yugi is totally injured and Keith get sent to the shadows" Mahad said.

"Killed Keith and controlled him, then he lost and was absorbed by the shadows," Melhana said, mulling it all over. "Don't you mean that his corpse was sent to the shadows, since he was already dead?"
Sakura got an ugly look on her face. "Sounds like desicrating the dead to me." She said coldly. "I may not have liked that ass, but that doesn't mean that he deserved to be killed and then controlled." |
"What's worse, is that the Puppet nearly killed Yugi and I sense that Yusei got affected somehow" Mahad added.
"This is worse than before" Anzu said sadly. |
"Got that right." Sakura said. "I even played an Orechalcos duel earlier. Not fun, especially when it's supposed to be gone."

"Remember what happened last time? Atem nearly got taken away from us" Anzu said.
"But you're the one who calmed him down during the Berserk Soul phase" Mahad reminded. |
Melhana nodded. She was scared out of her wits when she saw Atem unconcious after Ryuji, Jonouchi, and Honda had gotten back from looking for him. Even she thought that he'd lost his soul to the Orechalcos. And then, there was right after their train fell off the track, when he was dueling the Orechalcos monster....
Melhana shuddered. She could still remember the sight of blood spewing from her ancestor's stomach as the Orecalcos beast's blade pierced his midsection from behind. She wasn't as good at healing magic as her brother, but as the only mage there, she had to use healing magic or they would've lost him...the thought that he'd come so close to death in front of her eyes chilled her. |
"You ok Mel?" asked Marcia, coming out of Yusei's room.
"Oh, I guess we haven't meet before" Anzu said to Marcia "I'm Anzu but in America, I'm known as Tea as I found out." "I'm Marcia! Nice to meet ya! Anyway, I cheaked on the other two. Yusei is getting better but the virus that was hit, it's still spreading but not as fast as before. But when I entered Yugi's room, I couldn't reconised him. Blood everywhere but at least they stopped him coughing up blood though. I can't let Ashleigh see him untill he's all cleaned up" Marcia said, "It's going to be a while till those two are fully healed. Looks like somebody wants the Historic Ring dead." |
"Not a huge suprise." Sakura said. It barely registered. Melhana was too caught up in her own thoughts. Thoughts of the past...
"Yami!" Anzu screamed. Melhana looked around. Yami, the spirit of the Millenium Puzzle and her ancestor, was impaled through the stomach. The Orechalcos beast he had been dueling had somehow gotten behind him and stabbed him. His face was pale, and dark red blook ran down his chin. His black shirt was being stained red from the wound. "Damn it, YAMI!" Melhana bellowed. She had to do something. Despite Anzu's and Iron Heart's shouting, she kept running towards the Seal Yami was trapped in. When she reached it, she plowed right into it. "Get out of there!" She shouted, banging on the barrier. It stung, like electricity being shot through her body. She didn't care; her ancestor was dying! "Damn it Yami! Get your ass out of there before you're killed!" The Orechalcos beast pulled its katar out of Yami's stomach. He coughed up blood, falling to his knees. "Mel...ha...na...." He managed to get out before he fell to the wet ground, unconcious. A pool of dark red blood was forming around him, mixing with the rain. "Yami!" Melhana shouted, still pounding on the barrier. "YAMIIII!" |
"MELHANA!!!! YOU GOT TO SNAP OUT OF IT" Marcia yelled in Melhana's ear, trying to snap her out of her thoughts.
"I think she remembering a painful memory" Anzu replied. |
Melhana was jerked out of her reverie by Marcia screaming in her ear. She shoved her pinky into her hear to clean out imaginary earwax. "Geez, woman! You trying to make me go deaf?" She asked irritaby. Even though her friends were around her, she still saw Yami in that growing pool of blood that day...

"I'm not making you deaf, you were spaced out. Did you get what I said?" Marcia asked.
Ashleigh clutched something in her hand. Why Yugi, why? she thougth with tears streamed down her face. She open her hand, showing the Millenium Necklace. |

"Not really, I'm afraid." Melhana replied. "I was too caught up in...memories." "It's of that day, isn't it?" Sakura asked. "What day?" Melhana asked. "The day Atem nearly died, when that Orechalcos Soldier impaled him." Sakura replied. Melhana froze, stiff as a statue. "You saved his life that day, Melhana." "And how d'you know?" Melhana asked. "Your friend Selena told me." Sakura replied. "I am her older sister after all." Figures she'd tell her, Melhana thought. |
While Marcia filled Melhana in on the news of the two boys, Anzu and Sakura began to chat.
"I heard that you're the best in your leauge now since there are more leauges to enter. I heard that Madam Butterfly's on top of the Historic Ring Leauge" she said. |
"Of course," Selena replied. "But, I'm only playing Dungeon Dice Monsters now, and while it's a fun game, the circuit isn't nearly as large as with Duel Monsters." She sighed. "The skill of duelists has gone down too much. It's taking less and less to win championships. Just the other day I ran accross someone bragging that they'd won the continental championships, and he had the skill of an ametur." her eyes became distant. "It often makes me wonder why us Legends decided to fade out to begin with."

"That's a shame. You should get back into the game. Even if it's not compertiton, just do it for fun. I played the American verson of the game. It has a challenge that everyone has to adbide by, no face up defense summoning. They called it the Kamoni rules or something like that" Anzu said.

"I've heard of those." Selena replied. "You've got to remember; I'm the only Legend from the US." |
"True but everyone is wondering where you've gone. Since you left, Madam Butterfly took over and knocked you off the top" Anzu said.
"So that's that. They still need to cure Yusei. I guess that they don't enjoy helping people who...well...coughing blood" Marcia finished. |
Selena grinned. "Well, I have been toying with the idea." She said. "I've just gotten finished with another Dungeon Dice tournament, and both myself and Ryo Bakura are entering Duel Monsters tournaments again. If I recall, Ryo was competing in the United States qualifiers for the championship here in Japan." She pulled her walled out of her back pocket. She opened it, and pulled out a thin, clear plastic card. "I've already won mine. Won the qualifiers in Germany last month."
I'm not gonna tell her that Kaiba's taking out the competition in England, Selena thought. Have it be a surprise when she sees the asshole on TV. |
"Well, Yugi and Madam Butterfly is both in the championship for Japan, before all this insanity started. I guess that since it's not fair for her to miss out" Anzu said, "but she didn't mind not entering the championship." She placed her hand in her skirt pocket and touched the card that Yugi gave her for safe keeping...or what she wanted them to think.

Selena looked in the direction the doctors had gone, rushing Yugi to the emergency room. "Looks like that won't be happening now," She said. She turned back to Anzu. "Can I ask you something?"
"I can tell you why they haven't cured Yusei yet," Melhana said. "I checked on his aura earlier; that virus is gonna be a pain to get rid of. It's not only damaging his body, but his soul as well." She stuffed her hands in her back pockets and leaned against the wall. "Plus, Yugi's still in surgery." |
"Um, yeah. What is it?" Anzu asked.
"That sucks. Is there anything we can do?" Marcia asked. Ashleigh looked outside the window. What's happening to me? And why do I still feel weak? she thought to herself. The door open. |
