Zeruel nodded. "Agreed. Ashleigh, we're beginning the untwining. Your aura and your emotions are connected at a dangerous level, and we MUST get the seperate." He said. "Beginning sequence...."
|
"Wha?" Ashleigh started to say but a jolt hit Ashleigh's body and spread out, causing the girl more pain than normal, meaning the separation process was beginning to take off.
"Hang in there girl. Be strong" Hsa said, "We know you will survive." On the screen, the two orbs began to activate and started to separate. "Uriel, do you have any of the light sticks? She might need them" Hsa said, as Ashleigh was screaming in pain, "Usually we put the angel to sleep and keep pumping sleeping gas, but this is different and we don't have enough to keep her asleep." |
Uriel nodded. "I still have some." He replied.
"Good. We're going to need them." Zeruel replied. |
Ashleigh kept screamng.
"What's happening?" she screamed. |
"The seperation isn't going as smoothly as we had hoped." Uriel replied. "We're finding a way to dull the pain now."
|
"Please hurry!" Ashleigh cried, "It hurts!" That followed by another scream.
"We need to give her that sleeping gas NOW!" Hsa yelled. |
"We're working on getting it to you, don't worry." Zeruel replied. "Right. Start getting the gas to her!"
|
Hsa nodded and pressed the button for the gas. In the few minutes that it was released, there was silence.
"Now for the hard part" she said, "Master Zeruel, give it full power." |
Zeruel nodded. He turned it up to full power. I hope this works, he thought.
|
Ashleigh's body arched back as the orbs both jolted and pulled away from each other hard, sperated finally.
"It worked" Hsa said, "and just in time too. Now to see if she survives for the next few days. If so, she's cut out to be an angel after all." |
Zeruel replied. "I'm sure you know about the test, Uriel."
Uriel nodded. "I know." He replied. "I still remember mine...." |
"The last one we have didn't make the cut" Hsa replied, "I just hope Ashleigh makes it."
|
"You and I both...." Uriel whispered.
|
During the next few days, Zeruel kept an eye on the girl in the hospital test room. Uriel stayed for the duration of the 4 days.
"If she makes it pass midnight, she will pass as an angel" Hsa told Uriel on the 4th day, "then we try and keep her alive." |
Uriel nodded. "If you do not succeed...let's just say you will have a rather angry arch angel to deal with." He said.
Later that day at lunch, Kasanagi plopped down next to Aoi, Sora, Aki, and Asuka. "I'm going to ****ing KILL Jun!" She growled. |
"I know, a few of the light sticks will do the trick anyway" Hsa said as it began to grow dark and looked at the time, "9p.m. It's so close for it to be over."
"Let me guess. Still isn't approving you dating Edo" Aki said, then looked at Aoi. "It's about Ashleigh isn't it?" she asked. |
"No," Kasanagi huffed. "He doesn't."
"What was the shouting match about anyway?" Sora asked. Kasanagi sighed. "Jun is under the impression that Edo and I...did it." She replied. |
"I guess he didn't see you rushing in and out of his room carring medicine supplies every hour" Asuka replied.
"Aoi, are you even listening?" Aki asked. |
Aoi looked up. "Hm?" She asked.
"That's new," Sora said. "And if you ask me, Jun is nearly as thick as Judai." Kasanagi snorted. "I think the idiot's denser, actually. Considering how I had to go past his bloody room...." She grumbled. "Anyway, Aoi, what's got you distracted?" |
"It's about Ashleigh isn't it?" Aki asked.
"Or is it something else?" Asuka added. |
Aoi nodded. "Among other things." She replied. "My Tauk has been agitated lately."
|
"What is it showing you?" Aki asked.
|
"It's not really showing me things per say, more like giving me...gut feelings." Aoi replied. "It's kind of hard to explain."
|
"So care to share some with us?" Aki asked.
Hours went past and soon it stroked midnight. Hsa checked on the heart moniter afterwards. "She made it! She passed" she told Uriel, "and her soul was just holding on for that duration of time and now is settled back down. Or as they say on Earth, just scraped through." |
"It's odd...it's like I feel as if something's going to change in the future, but I'm not sure how far into the future or what that change is going to be." Aoi replied.
Uriel nodded, relieved. "I would like to be here when she wakes," he said. |
