"It's not that. It's something else. And you're not telling me what it is. I know you're hiding something" Ashleigh said sternly.

"I'm not hiding anything." Selena said evenly. She looked to the ground. It felt weird to speak without moving her mouth...it no doubt looked weird too.

"You are. You're showing it in your eyes" Ashleigh said, "I know this is a pure guess but, are you jealous of me finding love?"

"Not so much that, as..." Selena said. She looked back up at Ashleigh with anger in her eye. "Why is it you've gone through as much hell as you have, and yet you still have that stupid smile on your face! I've gone through at least as much, and I've pretty much forgotten what a true smile is!"

"That is because I remember all the good times I had with everyone, including my family" Ashleigh replied, "Even through I been experiancing during the last 3-4 angel years, finding myself, I'm looking to the day that I return. And besides, you can still re-learn that smile by creating new memories." And to Selena's surprise, Ashleigh's aura didn't flare up, nor was angry at her, intstead, tears was starting to fall down her face.
"And you don't know who I really am either as well as myself" she continued, "I nearly had my emotions and aura fused as one, learning about my true past, AND going to marry someone I might not even know, which might break Yugi's heart." |
"I have created new memories, and I still haven't relearned how to smile. Or laugh. Or do anything else related to being happy." Selena replied calmly. "I'm surprised the word's still in my vocabulary."

"Well, find that out! Only you can find that true happiness inside of yourself and stop blaming yourself for things that meant to happened like my Shard being ripped out, killing me in the process" Ashleigh said. Those words cut through Selena's heart. "Just be thankful that you weren't hunted down from when you are little because of my true past and my heart!"

"Oh, I was hunted in a way." Selena replied quietly. "There are some things that humans are innately fearful of, that they hate from birth. The Demon Eye is one of those." She pulled the eyepatch off to show Ashleigh. "Yeah, I'm immortal." She said as the snaking lines formed on her face. "And since humans innately hate the Demon Eye, that hatred and fear is projected onto the one who hosts it. And what do people do to those they fear and hate? They hurt them, in any way they can."

"You don't understand Selena. My soul is the same age as the Demon eye" Ashleigh said and took a huge breath. At that time, Yana left the room, to give the pair some privacy. "Promise me you won't tell the others until I officially return."

"I won't." Selena sighed. "Though...I do know who you're supposed to marry." She added as she tied the patch back on.

A glow filled up the room for a few seconds and then died down to see the girl in her Alantian form.
"I am Princess Malenkia. Daughter of Queen Jibril and suppose King Uriel. And the future Queen of Eternity" she said. |
"Looks like you've got two souls in your body." Selena said. "So, what's this Queen of Eternity buisness?"

"No Selena, both of my souls are now as one" Malenkia replied, "And I will become the Guardian of the timeline when I become it. You now know who I'm truly am Selena."

"So...what do I call you now? Ashleigh or Malenkia?" Selena asked.

"Still Ashleigh" Malenkia replied, "if I'm a fairy or princess, I'm still me."

"Good to know." Selena replied. "How old is your soul, anyway? My Demon Eye's around 13000, soo...."

"You won't believe it but, around that time" Malenkia replied, "I was a fetus then but according to a future Dartz, he said that my body was killed but my soul wasn't. I guess this was planned out for me all this time."

"Clearly." Selena replied. "So I'm presuming you know something about this Eye? Why I wound up with it?"

"Can't help you there girl" Malenkia said, "but know this. We'll do this together." Then the two girls hugged.
"I'll alway be there for you girl and don't you forget it" the princess whispered. "Well, that did two things" Lanchia said, "Ashleigh passing the final exam without knowing it, and finding the thing that would've broke those girls apart." Then the pair saw Uriel entering the two way door. "Is he ok?" she asked Gabriel. |
Gabriel shrugged. "Your guess is as good as mine." He replied.
Selena returned the hug, in shock. "Uh...ok..." She replied. "I see you've passed the final test, my daughter." Uriel said suddenly. |
Malenkia quickly turned her head around.
"Papa" she said, "I-I-I didn't know it was the final test." She said that as she returned to normal. |
Uriel nodded. "It was." He replied. He turned to Selena. "As for your question, Selena Kuro, the Demon Eye you possess is an...experiment of the First Gods, to see what would happen to humans when given a power as incredible as yours. They created the Demon Eye and put upon it the death curse you know so well. Each generation it is born into a new host, and that host has...."
"Died an early and violent death." Selena replied. She grinned evilly. "And I've pretty much thrown that on its head." Uriel nodded. "By all odds, you should have been dead long before this." He said. |
"Yeah, because Ruby said she was the next holder after Selena. But how can it be that Selena survived this long Papa?" Ashleigh asked.

"That I do not know." Uriel replied. "It could be one of the gods is on her side, that the First Gods have gotten bored of this experiment of theirs, or purely force of will. I have no idea."
Selena laughed. It was humorless, and made her look even more twisted with the grin she had on her face. "Oh, so the gods decided to go and have a fun little experiment, did they?" She asked sarcastically. "Well, I guess breaking the curse on this Eye they created will be the biggest f*** you I can give them." |
"Look Selena, I have to go now. Very soon, I have an assignment to go too so it can expand my seven years in angel world and I want to be back for the wedding and Cornination" Ashleigh said, "remember, the true happiness lies within. Only you can find it inside yourself."
