"Thanks. Now, we got some Christmas shopping to do" Ashleigh replied, and the two linked arms and headed into town.
Atem thought a bit. "When you first saw her after the emergency visit, what did she look like?" he asked Yugi. |
Selena grinned. "And I know just what to get for Melhana and Bakura. For when they get back, of course."
"Worn out." Yugi replied. "And her aura was going nuts...completely unstable." |
"I haven't started thinking about Christmas Presents while I was in the angelic plane" Ashleigh replied, "so I kinda need your help."
"And after the royal wedding?" Atem asked. |
"Hoo boy...this is gonna be interesting." Selena said.
"Much more stable." Yugi replied. |
"Yep" Ashleigh said, "I mean, when was the last time we've been shopping girl?"
"Interesting. Before she left, her soul was weak. But by the sounds of it, she passed the aura test and after that, her soul got stronger and stronger as her aura stabled more. It seems that before, her emotions and aura was fusing as one, which was the cause of the earthquakes. Since they're separated, the shaking stopped. And I guess that she has a new Yami, since Aka has moved on" Atem said, "But that doesn't explained why she's more mature than before." |
"Er....never....." Selena replied. "I don't do much shopping...."
"Yeah...that is weird." Yugi replied. "It's only been a few months, but she's aged way more than that...." |
"I know, but we use to go shopping like this" Ashleigh replied.
"Maybe we can help" pipped a voice. They turned to see Lanchia and Uriel (who were in their covers) standing there. The only way the group noticed the pair, was their hair colour. |
"Yeah...I know...." Selena replied. "Remember the first time we went shopping? You had to practically drag me kicking and screaming."
"Ashleigh Mutou, Wife of Yugi Mutou, was in the angelic plane for seven years." Uriel explained. "For you, only three months passed. Time passes differently in the angelic plane." |
"Yeah, but you got used to it" Ashleigh replied.
"During that time, Ashleigh has finally from from a teen kind of soul to a woman kind of soul. She has passed many trials, some we even we didn't know what would happen" Lanchia replied, referring to Uriel's finally healed hands, "She has matured gracefully. She even took the passing of Aka quite well, as no tears was shed. We are honored to be her subjects." "Well, that explains it" Atem said, "So what's going to happen to her now?" |
"Yeah, once we discovered the bookstore." Selena replied. "And the Hot Topic...."
"As she's made her choice to stay here, she will remain until her true time comes." Uriel replied. "Kaimiri, on the other hand, is going to find himself thinking over what he's done." "Why's that?" Yugi asked. "He's been imprisoned in the dark angelic plane." Uriel replied. "Before you ask, his father is now dead. Apparently, eating a power-hungry, angry son is going to end badly for someone." |
"You got that right. Then it was more easier for you to come along, providing we stop at those two places" Ashleigh agreed.
"So, who's going to take over Oblivian till Kaimiri returns?" Atem asked, relieved that they didn't have to deal with Kaimiri's father ever again. |
"Or just one of them." Selena replied. "And if you think I'm gonna be miss dress-up again, you're crazy."
"It is being overseen by Zeruel and the dark angels." Uriel replied. "My greatest fear is what will happen should Kaimiri go back to his old ways." |
"Your crazy" Ashleigh said, "this is Christmas shopping, not a shopping spree."
"Remind me who's Zeruel again?" Atem asked. |
"Okay then...." Selena said as they entered the mall. She just about groaned.
"He is the head of the dark angels." Uriel replied. |
"We meet back here in an hour for lunch" Ashleigh replied, pointing to Selena's favourite bookstore, "is that fine with you?"
"That's right. He's in charge of the test right?" |
"Yep," Selena said with a nod, heading off. And I know what book I'm getting for Mokuba....
Uriel nodded. "Yes." He replied. |
"So, how did Ashleigh's test went? Was she cut out to be an angel?" Atem asked, on the half the the gang.

"Yes." Uriel replied. "If she wasn't, then she would not have returned."

"What would've happened if she chose to stay in the angelic plane?" Anzu asked. She was finally filled in on what happened to Ashleigh during her absent.

"She would have been given an adjustment period, before assumimg her duties as the Queen of Eternity." Uriel replied.

"So, I guess she chose the right choice" Atem said, "But why was Ashleigh feeling sick yesterday?"

"It is because of her old body's disintigration." Uriel replied. "Whenever a person makes a Choice like Ashleigh, after the time limit for a person's ressurection, they must return in a new body. As a result, the old one will be destroyed, and since her soul was still connected to the body she was born in..."
"She was affected by it's destruction." Yugi finished. Uriel nodded. |
"But that doesn't explain her glowing red" Aki replied, "which we all got filled in."

"I believe it may have been her aura adjusting to this realm again." Uriel replied.

"But we all got told that it was her dual souls fusing togther" Anzu said, "which is the causelver of the glow."
After a hour's worth of christmas shopping, the two girls was sitting in one of the cafes, having lunch. "I was actually thinking about the federation, thinking if it's the right place for me" Ashleigh was saying, "or if it's worth staying." |
