"I don't know" Atem said again.

Yugi stopped playing with Ashleigh's hair and stood up. "I'm going to go find her," he said. "If she's the one to weild those cards this time around, then someone has to teach her how."

"What about Ashleigh? Who's going to look after her when you do that?" Atem asked. Having her alone is exactly what the foe wanted.

Yugi paused. "Good point." He replied. He took out his cell phone and dialed Yana's number.

Yana was chilling in Marcia's room, watching a fully recovered Marcia playing some good riffs on the electric gutair when her phone rang. Marcia stopped.
"Who is it?" she asked. Yana looked at the caller's ID. "It's dad" she said with a boring tone in her voice. She hit the answer option. "Hello?" |
"Yana, I need you to come down to my quarters as soon as possible." Yugi said, moving from the bedroom to the living area. "I'm going to explain some of the things I went through when I was your age, back in high school."

"It's something to do with relationships right? What a bore dad" Yana said, looking at Marcia.

"No, not that." Yugi sighed. "It's relating to what's going on now with the Dark Signers and Orechalcos."
*** "So nice of you to join us Mr. Fudo." Yusei crossed his arms. "So you called me here at the crack of dawn." He said grumpily. "What is it?" He was wearing a black leather coat with buckles down the front and around the throat, black pants with chains on them, and black combat boots. "Well?" The leader was pleased with his victory. The lead Signer was his to command. "I was just welcoming you to our order." he said. "That all? Couldn't it have waited until later, after I've gotten some sleep?" Yusei asked. The sleep-deprivation was not helping his mood. "But then you wouldn't get to test-run this." The leader said. He threw a card at Yusei, who caught it. "The Seal or Orechalcos?" he asked. "Are you sure it's a good idea to give me this kind of power?" "Of course, for now." The leader said. "Now, I've got a duel set up for you to try that out in." Yusei smiled. "Well, then there's no time to waste." He said. "Where is it?" *** Several minutes later, Yusei had won the Duel, and his opponent (one of the low-ranking lackeys) had been sealed into the card. "So this is the power of the Orechalcos," He said. Those idiots. They shouldn't have given me this. |
In the corner, Saharia was watching secretly.
This is what I saw. At this rate, Yusei will be stripped of his Signer Powers she thought, I must warn Max then she teleported herself back to HQ. "Boring. You can have the cards back. I'm happy with the cards I got" Yana replied, sighing, "I got my own powers to deal with plus my debet at the Championships to deal with that crap" then she hang up the phone. "That Orechalcos stuff huh?" Marcia asked. "Well duh! Mum told me about the curse. Aunty Michelle was affected by it and told the Legend of the Dragons to me. I don't need to have a bloody repeat of it. I don't care if dad went though the exact same thing. I don't want to patcipate in this" Yana replied. "You want to focus on your powers right? Use them here and there. Study them and if you want, you can do corrospondace for your training" Marcia said. "Well, that went well didn't it?" Atem said sacrasicly. |
Yugi sighed and shoved his phone back in his pocket. "Shut it," He said. He leaned against the wall and looked up to the ceiling. "Were your kids this much of a pain?"

"Actually no since we had to follow tradition" Aten said, flicking a bit of fringe out of his face.

"Damn you're lucky," Yugi replied. "Here's a hint; don't have kids in this time. They'll drive you crazy and turn your hair gray. Why else do you think Grandpa's hair was white by the time I graduated high school?"

"You think? we still have to go to school, and the rules was super stict. At a certain age, princes has to stick with their fathers through boring meetings" Atem replied.

Yugi smiled. "I bet you fell asleep a few times." He said. "But if that's the case, what happened in the gene pool to get Melhana the Hothead?"

"Well...to tell you the truth....I was kind of a trouble maker. Always getting into troube....well not starting it damnit Mana" Atem replied blushing.

Yugi grinned. "Somebody's got a crush on Mana...." Yugi teased.

"I know that. I'm blushing because of what I told you about me being a trouble maker. I need to have some fun right?" Atem snapped.

Yugi laughed. "Sheesh, calm down." He said. "I'd have hoped that you wouldn't have been Mr. Uptight when you were a kid. Even though you did wind up with the temper of a volcano." He dodged as Atem threw one of the couch pillows at his head for the last comment.

"Concidering that I sounded like you when I was younger" he said, reloading another pillow by magic and aimed at Yugi.

"Wait, you did?" Yugi asked. He dodged another pillow, only to be hit full in the face with another one.
*** "Well done!" The leader said when the duel was over. "How do you like your new power?" "I love it," Yusei replied. He handed the card back to the leader. "Now if you don't mind, I'm going to get some sleep. I've been up nearly all night." As he walked to his new quarters, the birthmark on his arm started to burn bright red. GET OUT OF MY BODY!!! Yusei managed to scream from the depths of his soul. Just shut up you, the dominant said. He leaned against the wall, clutching his burning forearm. You really are a pain in my ass. But, your Signer powers are nothing compared to mine. The power you've got is only 1500 years old--I come from the Shadow Realm, which is far older than your Signer abilities and the Netherworld. His nails dug into the flesh of his arm. Now shut the fuck up, weakling! It's my body, so give it back damn it! Yusei replied. He was struggling against the entity. Well, looks like I need to be a bit more forceful. The shadow entity said. He closed his eyes and retreated to the Soul Room.... Yusei was breaking free. The entity took a form that mirrored Yusei's. "You need to shut up." He said. "Just drop dead and get the hell out of me." Yusei growled. While his arms were still bound behind his back, he'd managed to use his power and free his legs and was now standing. The entity couldn't help but be impressed. The entity raised his arm. "I'm sorry, but I can't let that happen." He said. Chains formed from the ground and walls and shot themselves at Yusei. They bound him, lifting his helpless form high off the ground. He still struggled. The entity strode up to him and looked up at the struggling teenager. "You're bound, yet still you fight." He said, crossing his arms. "It's a pointless struggle, so just give up. This body and soul are mine now." Yusei managed to give the entity the middle finger. "No it isn't." He replied. "Now LET ME GO!" He lashed out with his navy blue aura, but it was repelled by a flick of the entity's finger. "Powerful, but not impressive." He replied. "You'll need more than that if you want to break free. And I'm sorry to say that you just don't have the strength or skill. Well, maybe not so sorry." He snapped, and black tendrils snaked out of the chains closest to Yusei's face. "What're you--ghagghh!" Yusei attempted to speak, but he was cut off as he was gagged by the black tendrils entering his mouth and binding his eyes and nose, prevending him from breathing. The entity turned away. This is my body now, kid. He thought.... Yusei opened his eyes again. That kid is stubborn. He thought. Doesn't know when to quit. He pulled his sleeve back down, hiding the bloody clawmarks on his arm, where the Signer birthmark had flared. |
"Yes. Reason why that you are my Direct Desentant" Atem replied, throwing another pillow.

"Wait, I thought Melhana was a direct descendant." Yugi replied. Like the last one, he failed to dodge and got hit in the face again.
*** Max looked up from studying the Scales and Ring when Saharia's form shimmered into existance in front of the door. "What is it?" She asked, seeing the look on the girl's face. |
"Yes she's another of my decendants but she doesn't look exactly like me. Remember I was called as you?" Atem asked, getting bored of throwing pillows.
"It's Yusei. Something has happened to him" Saharia said, "if we don't fix it asap, well, he will have his Signers powers stripped off him." |
"She certainly looks enough like you, that's for sure." Yugi replied. "And I remember that we shared the same name for a while."
*** "What?!" Max demanded. Selena closed her eyes an concentrated on picking up Yusei's aura. She managed to sense a small, thin emission from an earlier release. She followed it and got an image of Yusei, bound with chains, and a black, spider-silk-like substance covering his face. She opened her eyes suddenly and gasped. "I'm afraid it may have already begun," She whispered, her voice barely audible. |
"Excatly. Reason is that we look alike. Meaning you are my direct. Sadly, Melhana got my bad qualities" Atem replied.
