Flink: It's easier for me to make shapes if I have a tablet to draw with (for rough drafts and outlines). I can't do it with a mouse :[

But I've got the bammboo and while they gave me photoshop it's more for pictures not art
Personally I love oC simple free effective >.< though for some reason gimp didn't work with my tablet o.O so I can't speak for that one

I used to do pixel art with a mouse, then I got a laptop and I've just found it too hard to do pixel art with a touch pad, trust me it is painfully hard lol.

@Hatake: Using a tablet is a little dis-orientating, I have to admit I prefer to draw by hand and I plan to do that more often once I get myself a foldy table!
