yeah, I couldn't live without seafood and cheese... and chocolate, and butter and honey. wtf.
Cheese is the big one for me; I just love cheese.
That's only because animal products prevail so much in society. That is why it seems harder then it would otherwise be if society would change. Yes dietary changes and changing your habits can be difficult. People often cling to habits. I think what most people don't realize is that some omnivores/ non vegans may be eating a less varied diet then some vegans. Just something to keep in mind.
dude, my vegan room mate eats BREAD. LOTS OF IT. Her diet isn't varied at all. I get so sick of people trying to tell me that their eating habits are better than mine when they cut out whole food groups. If you're vegan, all you eat is vegetables and grains. That's not a varied diet.
What has she eaten today? Breakfast was vegan chocolate chip pancakes, lunch was vegan pizza. Dinner is going to be alcohol and tater tots. Believe me, you can be just as unhealthy 'Vegan' as you can in any other dietary option. |
lol
Wrenja just about hit the nail on the head there. Quite square, in fact. Especially younger "vegans". I haven't seen anyone earn enough income to support a healthy diet on a vegetarian/vegan ideal. |
I would die if I couldn't eat meat. :|
myself.. i like variety as far as my diet goes. i can do vegan, all meat, or a variety. personally though.. i like my cheese, milk *espeically at night so i can sleep*, chocolate, meats, and other stuff too much to go into one dietary thing and stick to it.
Fully agree on the healthy eating issue. Everyone no matter what their dietary choices needs to watch their diet.
What I was trying to point out though is that vegan food can have far more variety then many people think. No comment on your diet Wrenja, as I'm nether an expert nor know that much about you. Claudia's player here is mostly vegan. It's just easier when living in this society. |
Oh man, cheese. I couldn't live without that stuff. And Yogurt. I would eat my weight in yogurt and cheese if I could.
A vegan diet could be fun, and I find that certain brands of soy milk are actually rather good, but I would cave too fast. Plus I dislike the taste and texture of most veggies and some fruit so I wouldn't make it very far anyways even if I stuck it out. |
Like I said our dietary habits are very dear to us and difficult to change. I used to eat more vegan cheeses out of habit because I was very fond of cheese.

*peeks in* Hello?
I'm not claiming to be any saint, but I don't lord over people with my dietary choices either. I try to make good choices, I eat a lot of fish and veggies, but I have an insane sweet tooth. I tend to stay away from red meat, and can cook tofu a billion different ways, but I love a good hamburger. It's all about moderation, cutting whole food groups out isn't as healthy and some people like to claim it is imo.

"Ah, Hi Cain, we meet again".
Peeks in and waves to those she knows.
Good evening Abel :)
Hello again, Claudia. *smiles*
*waves to Scarlette* Hello, Wrenja. |
Hello there -waves to Cain-
Oh hi there Abel.
evening abel and wrenja is correct. moderation is key to everything.
Heya all >w< I am back for a bit! *hugs*
*waves to everyone who just welcomed him* Hello.
Hai Nessie ^^
How are you tonight Cain ? ^^ |
Sure, as far as fruits and vegetables go, but anyone can eat that; it's not unique to being a vegan. If you manage to get a hold of vegan products, you find that most of it is grain. Grains and vegetables is very basic forms. Buy a frozen package of vegan meals, and you've loaded yourself up with enough sodium for a week.
I don't think a vegan diet has any variety. |
Let us all take some radioactive waste in moderation now.
I'm doing alright, Scarlette.
*raises an eyebrow at Claudia* |
