1. Please follow Menewsha TOS. 2. Please keep what you say semi-lit. I'd prefer about a minimum of two good paragraphs once we get going, but I do understand one-liners. Please be detailed, exploring the characters motives/thinking/feelings, whatever. Please send me a private message entitled 'protect' as the subjectline. It is impossibly hard to get into a roleplay when someone just blatantly states their actions in such a way that does not reveal anything about their personality. 3. Use common sense and delete a post if it doesn’t match with what others are saying 4. Keep to the plot somewhat, do not make your own plot up. But by all means feel free to add fun twists and turns! 5. Please post after sending me your character and I accept it 6. Stay active in the thread, and if you are quitting then PM me 7. If you are leaving for a while please PM me so I don’t delete your character (A while meaning a week, a few days, etc.) 8. Use my format when sending me a character, it makes it a lot easier to organize ~IMPORTANT~ HUMANS with powers only. Humans. Period. |
PLOT
Present day bustling New-York like city. There are humans who have discovered or are discovering special abilities hidden within themselves. Some know where they got their abilities, others do not. That is not what matters. Some of these beings hide their powers, blending in among the normal ones. Others, if they dare, show them in front of the public eye without restraint. But those who are smart know that the government is after these ones with powers, and the wisest decision is to lay low. The city is in peril. There is hardly any law enforcement, and what is left of order is run by overzealous and greedy police and government officials, on the hunt for people with abilities. They will not stop until they find them. Some of these gifted ones choose to use their powers for those in need. They use them to protect. Others, of course, use them only for harmful and selfish reasons. There is a three way clash: Those gifted vs. the Government, those gifted doing good and those gifted doing bad, those gifted and the city. Which side are you on? |

THE GOOD
Username: Suno Character Name: Tai Age: 21 Male/Female: Female Biography: A skilled fighter. She grew up a quiet, lonely child who always knew she was different, but she didn't know exactly how. One night shortly after she turned 19, she discovered she harnessed the power over shadows- could turn them into objects or weapons, and somehow she could use them to heal others. Frightened by this ability and not wanting to hurt others for fear of losing control of it, she ran away from those she loved and now resides in a small apartment in New York. Sometimes she thinks she can sense those with powers; she may inquire them about it, sometimes she just leaves them alone in case they are trouble. Skyler walked around town. She looked around for her favorite place, but couldn't fine it. She sighed. She looked around once more, and almost fell into it. "GAH!" Skyler yelled. She smiled when she saw the clear pond with the ducks swimming in it. She placed her index finger in the water, and it started to riffle. She smiled. She spun her finger in the water quickly and the whole pond started to spin. She giggled, then jumped up when she heard people coming. She ran behind some tall grass and looked around.

Law was talking with another agent calmly while walking through a park. Though it wasn't a completely private talk law didn't mind much, they were just going over some locations and some people that were said to have powers, the government wanting to use these powers. Suddenly Law thought he heard something in the grass he stopped for a second scanning the area with his blind eyes acting as if he could acually see. "There's something in the bushes." Law whispered to his fellow agent.
Law swiftly but quiet walked over to the area where he heard the sound "Is someone there?" He asked in a kind and polite voice when really in truth it was good acting. |
Laughter and shouts of excitement surrounded the man as fire danced around him. He moved his hands to match the movements of the fire, but he really didn't need to. It helped the crowd enjoy the show. On the other side of the bar, somebody came in, and instinctively, Casper's gaze shifted in the entry's direction. It was just another regular, but he was always edgy about a government agent or police man coming in. He started his finale, listening and watching the crowd's excitement grow. He smirked, remembering how paranoid the bartender was when he first came in, asking "Hey, can I throw fire around your bar?" But after showing him his control, he got his trust. Casper ended his show with a bow, and asked the old bartender for a drink.

"Excuse me. Do you know that guy's name?" Shadow questioned the woman next to her about the fire-user who had just finished his show. The woman gave Shadow a once over, not seeming to believe that such a young girl was in the club. Shadow rolled her eyes, "Ma'am?" "C-Casper...I believe..." Shadow nodded her head and then moved off into the crowd, her kimono top sleeves billowing out behind her as she moved towards the guy. "Hello." She said, coming up behind the fire-user.

Casper sipped his drink lightly, even though he was definitely not a light-weight. "Hello." He heard. Downing the alcohol quickly and cleanly, he turned to face the girl. Damn. She's short. It was only mild surprise though, he'd seen weirder. "Can I help you?" he asked. Quickly, unnoticeably, he took in the sight of her. She can't be older than twelve... No... She's too... Grown-up. Not younger than sixteen. And what's with her clothes? And her hair! Wow. Okay, she was pretty weird.

Shadow clenched one hand within her sleeves as Casper's thoughts flowed into her mind. She took a deep breath, closing her eyes to quell her annoyance. "You know, you're pretty hard to follow around sometimes. And I'd rather prefer that you keep your thoughts to yourself." The latter part was hissed under her breath so as not to draw attention to them.

Skyler bit her lip, she didn't know if she wanted to answer or not. If she answered she could easily lie and say she was watching the ducks, but what if he could see through her lying. She decided to risk her life for it. She stood up acting like she was a normal kid. "H-Hello...oh...I thought you were one of the people who had weird power things...What do you want?" She asked scared to death. She was a wonderful actress, but he might be better. She had to watch how she said everything around this person.

Law listened closely and heard the person in the bushes getting up, law stood up straight waiting for their reply. It was a girl who answered, at her comment Law narrowed his eyes not believeing what she said because of one fact "What are you talking about? Powers?" Law questioned knowing that only the government and people who had powers knew that they existed. Law still acting moved his cane around as if he was a normal blind person. The boy stumbled foward a bit hunching over "i'm sorry could you help me out a bit?" He asked sincrely, lying.

Skyler took a step back. "Sorry mother said never to talk, or help strangers...ever since the little insisted happened..." She took another step back making sure they had a good distance between each other. She knew humans didn't know the powers so she made up the story of her encountering one, many years ago, and almost dying. She was very good at stories, she was hoping this one would work. "But may i ask...Why are you here?" She took another step back acting like she was going to run home, even though her home was in the other direction.

Law heard her take a few steps back 'scared... must be lying.' he thought in his head straightening his posture, the grass continued to ring in his ears, he could hear all too clearly that she was nervous and afraid of him. "This is a park, why not come here on a nice day? I was with a good friend of mine but he had to leave sadly." Law said, but really his "friend" was close by closely exaiming the two.
Law knowing that she was going to run for it any minute now peered into her mind, basicly losing his own control over his body when he got into the girl's body he looked thorugh her eyes and smiled a bit "I haven't seen in a while..." he said outloud and started to walk over to the pound swfitly "Now what sort of power does she have?" Law said sighing, first he tried mind based powers but they didn't seem to work then he tried touch the pound thinking she wasp laying with the water and noticed how he could change the ripples in the water "Interesting..." He said calmly and swfitly reverted to his own body and coughed outloud waking his body up. |
"Um...I'm just gonna go home now...My ma-ma might be worrying" She took another step back. "Have a nice day, sir..." She took another step back, and she was on the path way. She looked at the man a bit annoyed, she didn't like how he was talking to her, in such a weird way. She could tell he was lying, her father was blind and he was never that way. She calmed down a lot more.

Law fakely smiled, the girl didn't notice a thing "Bye bye." He said waving at her friendly. Law leaned on his cane still not used to his own body and started to walk over to the other agent and faced his head back towards the girl "Did you find out who she was, she definitely is a power holder. Might make a pretty good use for the government" Law said sternly frowning. The boy started to tye a black band around his eyes to cover up his senstive eyes from the sun. "No, but i'll start a file on her case soon. What power does she had." Law grinned for once truthfully "Some sort of water based power." he said cheerfully.

Skyler heard their conversation, as she ran. crap! The know...I'll just have to hide for a little bit... Skyler ran into the bar quickly not knowing what to do next. She could pull off a 21 year old, maybe. She walked into the bathroom, and dolled-up, then came out and just sat at an empty table.

Tai looked up from the novel she was reading on the park bench. There weren't very many people in the park today. It was a weekday, and an hour where most people were still at work. Fortunately for her, she had the day to herself. She looked to the right, to the direction of the pond, to notice two men dressed in dark colors and what seemed to be a frightened girl. She observed them for a moment, before turning her head back to her book, though keeping her eyes on the men. They were up to something. At this point, they had turned away from the girl and continued walking along the sidewalk, in her direction. Judging from their attire and mannerisms, they worked for the government. She remained calm, but braced herself as they began to pass her.

Casper immediately shielded his thoughts. He'd met mind readers before; they were a pain in the ass, but usually had a great sense of humor. Usually. He couldn't shield his smirk though. "Sorry, would you rather me say it?" he asked sarcastically, with humor, and rhetorically. "You were looking for me?"

Skyler was eager to play with the cup of water she had, but she had to stop herself. She looked around. She never been here before. She didn't even know this place existed. She sighed. She was just glad that the weird man could find her. She changed into a leather jacket and a tank top. With skinny jeans and sneakers. She did look semi-different, with her hair in a high pony tail, and with contacts that were brown instead of blue. She sighed, which made the water make a broken heart. Her eyes widened and drank half of her water. She almost choked but at least it wasn't there anymore.

Shadow 'tch'ed, "Yea, I was supposed to warn you to lay low for a while. You've been doing too many shows, people are starting to talk." She turned, another's thoughts entering her mind, an image actually, of a broken heart made of water. She tilted her head slightly, "And you know what will happen if they catch you." She finished, then started to walk away, towards the source of the image, towards the water-user.

Skyler heard footsteps and looked to the person walking towards her. Her mind was racing. "crap! Please don't be the government again!" She thought. She just looked at the water acting like the person wasn't coming. She gave up and looked at the person coming, and heard the cup moving. She looked at the water, and noticed that it was showing a smile. She smiled, then drank the rest of the water.

She stopped in front of the girl who had just smiled at her water, "I won't hurt you..." She whispered, eyes darting around to the many people milling around them. The other girl's fear was evident in the signals coming from her body even to someone who couldn't read minds like Shadow, "You need to calm down. It's kind of obvious you're scared of something." She continued in a quiet murmur.

Skyler looked up, and could see that she was not part of the government, so she listened to the girl and calmed down. "Sorry, just encounter something...before i ran into here..." Skyler didn't know anyone hear and was having trouble talking with anyone, since that guy could come in here at any time.

"Government officials, I'm guessing." Shadow sighed, well that was troublesome. "Would you mind telling me your name?" That way it would be easier to keep tabs on all those random thoughts that weren't her own.
