When I was still living with my parents that didn't make a bit of difference. Mom likes to bust out the good dishes for the holidays and those are hand wash only.

Cicadetta 12-25-2009 03:04 AM

Yeah, that's what my Mom does, too. At least this year she used the easy-to-wash set. There's another one with raised patterns that get little bits of food stuck in them. They're pretty, but extremely annoying.

I just opened presents.
All I got were clothes, slippers, and a bag of candy and a toothbrush with three packs of toothpaste. lol.

Rei Ann 12-25-2009 03:09 AM

Sorry more x-mas eve drama called me away, sighs.

Fauxreal 12-25-2009 03:11 AM

I'm not getting anything for Christmas - but I dont' need anything - *shrug* All my family is in FL and I'm in IL...

Rei Ann 12-25-2009 03:12 AM

Your not getting anything, but someone should always get something for x-mas.

Nanenna 12-25-2009 03:14 AM

You'll get a hug if nothing else! *Hugs Fauxreal*

Okay, I feel the need to write and you guys are a distraction. Sorries. :/

Fauxreal 12-25-2009 03:14 AM

Ha! Got a hug! *sweet* :vicky:

Talentless_Muse 12-25-2009 03:16 AM

Hugs are nice.

Hey, everyone!

Rei Ann 12-25-2009 03:16 AM

Hello Muse.

Kazz 12-25-2009 03:16 AM

Talentless_Muse>
hello there.

Jezriel 12-25-2009 03:20 AM

Ah, so much to do, so little time.

Talentless_Muse 12-25-2009 03:20 AM

I'm finally home and all comfy. Today was an incredibly long day at work, but it wasn't hectic at all. It was actually a somewhat slow day, which was kind of nice, but it also meant I got bored quite a bit too.

Rei Ann 12-25-2009 03:21 AM

Ah I see, at least your home now right?

Fauxreal 12-25-2009 03:24 AM

I was so lucky that I didn't have to work.

Jezriel 12-25-2009 03:24 AM

I don't think I've ever had a Christmas in a blizzard before. I'm glad my family decided to wait for my son to return from his visit with his dad and their family for a while.

Talentless_Muse 12-25-2009 03:27 AM

Yeah. Well, I'm at my parents' home. I'm renting an apartment two hours away where my college (and job) is. I left straight from work and drove down to their place so I can actually have a Christmas.

It's not like I'm getting to rest or anything over the holiday since I have to ride back up the morning of the day after because I've got work then too. I wish that my manager would just call me that morning and say that they didn't need me to come in so I could spend the weekend lounging around for a change. I never get a free weekend anymore.

Fauxreal 12-25-2009 03:31 AM

Whenever I get a day off - something always happens! Like I got sick this couple days. *oi*

Jezriel 12-25-2009 03:32 AM

Before I got laid off, my office would regularly let us off for holidays. But for some reason, my normal day off was always on that day so it was never a 'bonus' day for me.

Talentless_Muse 12-25-2009 03:35 AM

My manager hasn't given me a single Saturday off since I started. The only two that I haven't worked were ones that I specifically requested off because I had specific things to do. One was for a convention, and the other time was for a trip I was taking with the history department for a class. Neither of those were particularly restful weekends.

Where do you work? That sounds like what use to happen to me when I worked at wal-mart.

Fauxreal 12-25-2009 03:39 AM

You NEVER get a weekend off - - that doesn't sound very fair.

Jezriel 12-25-2009 03:41 AM

Argh, I didn't realize that by changing my ingredients to bowls that I wouldn't be able to 'cook' them. XD

It makes sense, but... grr.

Talentless_Muse 12-25-2009 03:43 AM

I work at Hobby Lobby.

I get Sundays off, but everybody gets that day off since we're not open, so it's not like I'm getting anything nice from it. Everyone else gets the occassional Saturday off, but I'm always scheduled to work 1-9.

It's really not fair at all.

Fauxreal 12-25-2009 03:44 AM

I'm going to brush mah teeth! Be right back!
