Well, I'm not certain.

I have been to Mexico, and that was quite a culture shock for me.

Marquisse 12-26-2009 05:41 AM

I just like new places I am one of those people who is a crazed person while traveling I am never in one spot people who rest in there hotel room bug me!

Keyori 12-26-2009 05:42 AM

Oh, what was it like Gran?

Rei Ann 12-26-2009 05:42 AM

Wow you guys have travled many places.

wish 12-26-2009 05:42 AM

Japan was fun. :) I really like their subway system, very much on time and efficient. Although I would never go back during "rush hour" of subway time, cause well there's SO many people that you are REALLY squished on the subway. I went with my class, and I almost didn't make it into the train thing before it left. xD Someone had to pull me in because I was standing there dazed. .-.!

Lots of people at night time, like 9-10 PM. Everyone gets off work during that time so there's tons of people. :3 Their stuff is expensive though. xD But still lots of affordable cute things too if you look in the right places.

Talentless_Muse 12-26-2009 05:42 AM

Ah. That's a bit sad, Sai.

I wasn't originally planning to go on the Greece trip because I'll have graduated by then, but Dr. McConnell said that it didn't matter and that the college would allow me to go anyway.

I was actually kind of surprised when he asked me if I was considering going on it since the interest meeting was not too long after the trip to Gettysburg and DC, which he was one of the professors to go on that as well. I would've thought that he'd be rather sick of me after spending four days largely trapped on a bus with me sitting behind him for a large part of the trip.

Saiyana2 12-26-2009 05:44 AM

Keyori 12-26-2009 05:45 AM

Wish, your avi art is lovely! Who drew them?

wish 12-26-2009 05:45 AM

You should go to Japan! :) It was really fun to see all the crazyness. Tokyo feels like a block party everyday. xD!! Although I did go during November, so it might have been the christmas shopping/crazy season. :3

GrannyJ 12-26-2009 05:46 AM

The part of Mexico we were in was not very prosperous.
I had never seen that sort of living conditions before. It was very sad.

Well It's so far to go and all that, so yeah. I can't afford it wither.

Keyori 12-26-2009 05:47 AM

That's very unfortunate Granny :(

wish 12-26-2009 05:48 AM

You will someday. :) I went as a class fieldtrip so we were there just a week. It only costed me 500 too, since I got a scholarship. ^^; Although I did need to pay for my own meals. But I don't eat much so I usually bought stuff at the convenience store.

Ah I see, well I would want to go when I am older, and may be able to speak japanese.

Talentless_Muse 12-26-2009 05:50 AM

The Greece trip is going to be something like $3500, but that includes all breakfasts and a number of dinners already paid for.

Also, that's my price, and it's higher than it would be for some of the other girls since I'll have just turned 24 by the time we leave.

Keyori 12-26-2009 05:50 AM

Why does your age make it more expensive?

GrannyJ 12-26-2009 05:50 AM

My husband's job in IBM a number of years ago required a joint team with IBM Japan. That meant that every month he spent 2 weeks in Japan.

So as much as I would like to see Japan, he has no interest in ever returning.

wish 12-26-2009 05:51 AM

LOL YAH not speaking japanese was horrible. xD! They thought I spoke it though. I was like nooo just because I look asian (i'm a local hawaii chinese person so i'm really tan) doesn't mean I speak it. hahahha. lots of people tried to speak to me. and I really had a hard time telling them where I was from. Until I said "HAWAII!" and they were all like "AH! YES!!" rofl.

Keyori 12-26-2009 05:52 AM

Ah, that is funny wish ^_^

I always figured if I traveled in Europe I'd just tell everyone I'm from Canada >_>;

Marquisse 12-26-2009 05:53 AM

Why is that Key?

Below age 24, you can pay the student rate, which is less expensive than the adult rate. The trade-off is that people paying at the adult rate only have to share their hotel rooms with one other person instead of being four to a room like those at the student rate.

It's some liability/legality issue that I haven't really attempted to look up any details on.

Rei Ann 12-26-2009 05:54 AM

Oh, wow that sounds rather well un fun. That could get annoying.

wish 12-26-2009 05:54 AM

keyori; that's a good idea. xD Or hawaii. when i went to europe, we were advised not to say we're from america, but from hawaii. it worked out well. :3 everyone loves hawaii. LOL

Saiyana2 12-26-2009 05:54 AM

Muse if it's a trip run by a school travle group go it's worth every penny. That's how we went to Italy.
